Thank you very much blues20,

This is what we need in this present time. We are going to achieve our aim through sheer hard work and connecting with the right people.

I know we are far better than the place we find ourselves. I believe if you and I can work things out we will achieve greatness. A nagging wife in the midst of wives, is the neglected one.

Times are changing and if you don't study the present time you are living in, you will be lost in the future. We have to put things in order because the future is close to us. The work is on our head. Other people have kings and chiefs who take responsibilities but we do not have anyone to carry our load for us. It might look bad but to be sincere, it is simple. A leader carry a heavy load which might be too much for him to bear but a load spread across the whole village will be light for everyone.

We need to start channelling our resources and time towards achieving positive things our people will gain. No amount spent on development is a waste because it will surely bounce back into our accounts, multiple folds.

What do you mean by " Let's fine tune our regional politics'' BC seriously people vote according to whom they dim fit. Buhari didn't impose them on us, we voted for them and got them elected. So please I will like to understand your point.
People vote who they are told is good for them. I can clean a dirty man and give you a thousand and one reason why this man can be a pastor. A logical man like you will want to think towards my logical reasoning because I will make it logical for you. That was how they fine tuned the man in power today.

Man in the real sense isn't free, once in awhile he is told what to do and some times he wants to be told what to do. This is what campaigners do, they tell you what to do.

Now to our own scenario, we can push ppl from different senatorial district who believes in our dream and wash him well for people to believe he is the Messiah. People will forget his sins immediately. Humans have forgiving spirit, do they will follow the person. Its matter of us winning the minds of the people, the other things can be fixed.

I love your view but it still needs some refinement. Igbos has a better chance of clinching the presidency in 2019.
I will like all the Igbos to start thinking towards that angle. Venture on this campaign and give it a second thought. Ol

Op I have been observing the thread, but this hate filled idiots won't stop causing nuisance here! Kudos though but reconsider your submissions.

The kingdom of God suffer violence and only men of violence takes it by force. We need to be radical in this campaign and make others see reasons with us.
I bet you, we have no chance at the presidency in 2019. Do not jump the gun. Let's keep off from national politics and face the real issue. There are better ways of getting what you want without fighting for the top position in the country. You all should understand that these northerners are still under the euphoria of being on top and there are not looking like people who will jeopardize this opportunity, so don't think the news you hear about his incompetence will bring him down in 2019, it will not work.

Let's fine tune our regional politics. Test run our capacity by voting our own person with our own interest in the senate and the house, then try it with the governor and local govt. when you see that your motives are yielding fruits, then u can gun for the top.

Politics isn't simple like you see it, it takes so much to defeat these guys.

This is the time you stand and fight for what you believe in. I don't think many people believe in this entity Nigeria but what you have to understand is that, your people come first. When you look the other way and the other person looks the other way, who will look forward and move the people? We have been at the sidelines for 49years, doing things haphazardly.
The time to focus our torch to the future is now, your kids must ask you where you are from and it will be a shame that in the 30years, people will still say "I am going to my Village". What sort of statement is that? If you sit down and do nothing, your cousins, brother, sisters or relations will suffer from this bad decision u are making.

It is time to put your strength where it is needed. I am only being too cautious with what I want to tell you because deep inside of me, I wanted to say more.

Good Morning Ndibayi

Yesterday I understood it will difficult for many of us to continue discussions because of our work but today is saturday , of which I believe many of us will be resting due to its weekend and most importantly "environmental day"

If you are an Igbo man and you are looking for a thread to argue in, please come in here and argue. bring up your progressive ideas and at the end we must make something out of this discussion. I know many of you do not like the present status quo, so let's come and get angry here without talking with emotional outburst but like a person who is lording over his emotions.

The development of igboland is the most important thing we need to chase now because the future of our children unborn depends on it. do not shy away from conversations like these because if you want something to happen, it depends solely on you to make it happen.

cc blues20, eternaltruth , igboid, lovemachine, and every other concerned minds.

You may never know, we are listening.

You all must not stop bringing up points. you all must keep talking and you must not mention another tribe here please.

I am not saying this out of the fact that I love your grammar, I am saying this so that you can really spill out your thoughts.

some of you are raising points without any drive in you. I only see this drive when you argue with other people.

it is not enough to have great points but it is good if you have the drive to push your thoughts.

please continue.

Invite other igbos from any side of the divide to come here. you must spill your thoughts now. its necessary.

You have an excellent mindset and if we push for something concrete in the region we will get it. What I have come to discover in igbos is that, we are willing to develop but we always get it wrong when it comes to choosing the right people to spearhead our needs.

Another thing is this, we are not doing anything for our region and we are not even trying to do anything about it. if we start having the mindset of doing something for our region, we will leave where we are.

there is a plan but we cannot just spill beans on the ground.

I am trying to organise something big about your line of thought which I have conceived for more than a year now. I have gotten some good minds here, of which we have discussed at length but we need more people to push with us so that we can consolidate our efforts from different state.

we are even looking at a bigger picture with what you have highlighted as elements of the big plan. if we can push further and have the people on our side. we can achieve more than we are even envisaging.

Anambra has way more number of billionaires in the state that what was stated here. in fact these ones are the noise makers. I am telling you from facts and figures. I don't know most of their names though.

Have you heard of the owner boskel? in pH city. that company spans a whole street and more. he deals on offshore hardware, he fabricates flare stacks of factories and refineries. if you see the number of workers pouring out of this man's company, nwanna, you will dodge your head. Close to that same man is another big boy doing oilservicing onshore. Massive investment too.

To be frank, if Igbos can come together and decide to takeover the development of the region. I think the highest population of people will be in east. these are guys who employ labour in numbers. God blessed igbos.. Some of these billionaires are in their 40, 50 and 60s.

And Architect Emeka Okoye illustrated and setup a cooperate organization there that will become Millionaires in Five years with real estate business
and if it flops they should hold him accountable.

And many were said and discussed that I won't say here because of people from the other side.

There is an Israeli Training coming in the south east ..to gear up the talents of the igbos to the world.

Needless War In The House Of Oduduwa

Are Binis of today’s Edo of the Yoruba stock and what is the status of the Ijebu people in the Yoruba cosmogony?

These two-in-one questions posed will continue to dog Yoruba history. Despite the works of great historians like Samuel Johnson, Ade Ajayi, Espie, Ayanleye and the rest, the questions remain open-ended.

The recent hot exchanges between the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona and the Alake of Egbalnd, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, were avoidable and expand the hiatus among the Yoruba people and their neighbours.

The ranking of five foremost Yoruba Obas by Alake was the agent provocateur this time. Picking holes in the ranking, the Awujale faulted the 1903 gazette cited by the Alake on the categorisation of Obas. Not being a son of Oduduwa, it would have been better to just steer clear of colonial creations, which were done by the rule of thumb during that period.

But, instead, Kabiyesi reached out to Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, a self-confessed Bini man for validation. Oba Akiolu supported the Awujale. Since the two are not of Yoruba ancestry, it remained to be seen how ego would not take the place of logic.

Binis never considered themselves as of Yoruba stock. The house of Oduduwa considers it fallacious. With the Benin Kingdom countering that no Yoruba Oba was higher than the Oba of Benin, the political history of Yoruba got more suffused in mysticism rather than empiricism.

The Ijebus too, claimed to be superior to other Yorubas because, according to them, it was the fifth Awujale (king of Ijebu-Ode) that cured Oduduwa (the progenitors of the Yoruba race) of blindness. For them, if the father of all Yorubas was a beneficiary of their fifth ruler, it then meant that they had existed before the foundation of the Yoruba race or at least, before they got to Nigeria.

The first Awujale was said to have come from a place called Waddai, somewhere in present day Sudan. The people are different from their immediate neighbours in Ijebuland. Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the late political sage and a Remo man, sealed this a long time ago. Historically, people from that axis of Ijebu are from Iremo quarters in Ile-Ife and migrated to where they settled now near the Ijebu people. Hence they are called Ijebu-Remo. Most Ijebu towns towards Ondo and in Lagos States also claim their ancestry to Ile-Ife.

The myths and conundrum of these assertions may take eternity to decipher and made a mince meat of the royal diplomacy of 41-year-old Ooni Ogunwusi couched in oneness of the Yorubarace. His several visitations to those considered rivals to his predecessor, Oba Okunade Sijuwade may be a pipedream with the current verbal warfare.

Ooni, the Arole Oodua had gone to Alaafin of Oyo and Awujale in search of unity. Only last weekend, he took a wife from Benin kingdom, to underscore his quest to end the war of attrition tearing apart the house of Oduduwa as we know it.

Perhaps our royal fathers should be reminded that democracy has demystified claims embedded in orality and whittled down the influence of royal fathers who today exist at the mercy of council chairmen and state governments who decide who and when to enthrone chief/Oba/Emir or depose. These discretions are embedded in law and not the native authority that have no force of enforcement under our present constitutional arrangements.

For most radically minded people, it was a needless argy-baggy for an endangered institution to fan the embers of disunity and expose itself to a predatory system that doesn’t discriminate between a slave and free-born.

Definitely, they have different motives. Some of them are doing it out of patriotism and love of their immediate source of origins; just wanting to project pride in their own roots. Some are doing this out of mischief.

It is clear the professorial chair endowed by Oba Adetona will see democracy as more relevant for scholarship than studies in traditional monarchy.
It is better you ignore the thread than bring other people into your argument. After mentioning southwest, you will add hausas too.

You're an eediot and a clown!
if we had the motive to invade the Binis, you should be hearing about more ten thousand deaths in the area because they were defenseless. They were the ones who started the killings of biafran soldiers who camped there during their retreat from ore.

they served poisonous foods to biafrans, when biafran soldiers found out that some soldiers died from poison, they started maltreating them in the area.

1.Your points are indistinct.
There was nothing like divisions in the Nigeria Army before the civil war. When did Yoruba claimed not to be a part of Nigeria?
Get this - what I mean by neutral is,Yorubas officers were not responsible for the coup(except for Adewale Ademoyega); although some Yoruba men were killed,Yorubas didn't join in the pogrom that followed. Those two incidents that Yorubas were unconnected to gave birth to the civil war,so why should they be roped into the squally sh!tstorm that followed.
using your own school of thought:

The Yoruba's were not part of the war. Adekunle and Obasanjo were Hausas?

Who gave gowon the idea of stopping food supply to the east?

who was the highest ranking officer in gowon's cabinet?

where did all the armour came in?

Don't give me that trash saying that yorubas were part of Nigeria and couldn't do a thing about it. Easterners were part of Nigeria when Ironsi was allowed to be bundled by the northern soldiers in Fajuyis house. Since we were all part of Nigeria, why didn't they fight to stop their head of state from been bundled?

I don't engage in this kind of arguments but do not raise wet points again

Major investigations see their breakthrough through simple lies because one lie is a squeezer of trust. One simple lie can destroy a contract. One simple lie can lead to mass-sack.

The commenters supporting the lying woman cannot and should not be seen in public offices and places of high repute. It would have been better they pasted names and pictures of such people online. They lack the capacity to deal with critical issues the way it should be dealt with. They should be kept in obscurity. Facing their own whack view of life.
