Phones / Will You Buy The Itel 5G Phone For N140,000? by deviceteck: 4:44pm On Dec 23, 2023
As a Youtuber who makes Phone review content, I often get negative comments about itel phones. Over the years, Itel has been known to manufacture laggy, overheating and slow-running phones.

A lot has changed lately and the launch of its first 5G device, itel P55 5G, is just one of the huge improvements they have made lately. Here is a breakdown of the specs.

Itel P55 5G Specs

Price: N140,000
Network: 5G
Processor: MediaTek dimensity 6080 6nm
Storage: 126GB internal storage, 12GB extended RAM
Features: Aivana AI assistant, Android 13, 50MP camera and 90Hz screen refresh rate.

Itel P55 5G Unboxing And Review

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50b8fwVW0-I

Let's be honest here, these specs are not exactly great for a 5G device. For example, the display is an IPS panel of 720x1612px resolution, a lower display resolution. However, considering that this is the cheapest 5G phone of 2023, cutting-edge cannot be entirely avoided.

Cut long story short, should you buy the Itel P55 5G? Honestly, I see no reason why you shouldn't if you do not have the budget for a more expensive one.

Phones / About The Itel A70: Is It Worth The Hype? by deviceteck: 3:49pm On Oct 25, 2023
Did I mention that the Itel A70 comes at a low price that won't break the bank? It's affordable, so you don't have to spend all that you have to access lots of good features. But price alone does not make up for everything on the phone. The design, speed, battery, cameras and display also matter.

consider 5 features of the Itel A70 and tell for yourself if it really worth the Hype

1. The Price.

For N88,000 you get 8GB of extended RAM and 256GB of internal storage. I doubt if you will need an SD card on this phone ever. Here is a little task for you. Look for any phone with the same storage space as the Itel A70 that is less than N100k in Nigeria. If you find it, you are definitely out of this world. The thing it, the A70 is crazily cheap.

2. The Processor

This is the first disappointment or challenge you might have with the phone. A UNISOC T603 CPU might sound great to the ear, but not to the eyes. The phone takes an extra millisecond to respond to actions. I have reviewed hundreds of phones and I can tell when a phone is behaving like a bad boy. The processor might lag with time.

3. Room for All Your World

HOST: Do you ever feel like your smartphone's storage space is playing hide-and-seek with your files? Not with the Itel A70! It comes with 256GB of internal storage (a 128GB variant is also available) and a handy microSD card slot to expand it further (up to 2TB). You can now keep your entire world right at your fingertips! 🌍

4. The Camera

If you are an Itel's fan you may want to hide your face here. To me, the camera is ugly. It has nothing to do with the 13MP main sensor and the 8MP selfie. The quality of pictures and images is low and a little below acceptable for someone who is looking to buy a phone with a good camera. Basically, the camera is a no for me.

5. Design

This is the biggest exciting feature of the A70. The design is almost perfectly the same as the design of the Tecno Spark 10 Pro. The Spark 10 pro is currently N150k in price. It's a good feeling to hold a phone of 88k and someone else assume that you bought it for about N150K

There are lots of other good and not-so-good sides of the Itel A70. I talk more about these features on my YouTube channel. I also talk about how a phone like this compares with other related phones like the Itel S23+.

If you follow me on YouTube, you get Unbiased reviews and make better decisions on what phone to buy.

Phones / Itel S23+ Is A Monster - This Is Why by deviceteck: 3:31pm On Sep 26, 2023
Have you heard of the Itel S23+? I never liked itel phones, never! I've had so many problems from them previously from swelling batteries to overheating and from constant freezing and lagging to malfunctioning, to name a few.

cut short story long.... sorry, cut long story short, S23+ comes with unbelievable features which I will never doubt if it were a dream. I was skeptical when I reviewed this device and it is all good.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufTnHOdSDDY

1. A curved AMOL display
2. A better processor UNISO Tiger T616
3. An under-display Fingerprint scanner
4. Type-c earpiece
5. 50mp / 32mp camera combo

There are lots of features on this device, seriously.

Phones / The Best Cheapest Budget Phone In 2023 Is Better What You Imaging by deviceteck: 12:07pm On Sep 19, 2023
If you have read my post here on Nairaland long enough, you will know that I mostly write about Tecno, Infinix, and Itel phones. These phones are cheap and come with a handful of valuable features. At least, the poor can breathe knowing that they can still use smartphones with little money.

But, the BEST CHEAPEST BUDGET ANDROID PHONE is not from any of the brands mentioned above. If you are limited by your budget and you want to buy a presentable Android phone, the Redmi 12c is your best bet.

In this post, I will mention 3 reasons why the Redmi 12c is better than other phones within its price range. In order to be unbiased, I will also consider 3 more reasons why you might have issues with this phone.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNjSnWUmcf8

The Good Side

1. The price. Redmi 12 is around 59,000 Naira. There are 5 variants of this phone with different storage space. The price depends on the variant you want to buy. The point here is that to get an Android phone of 59k these days is very hard. Usually, it means that the phone will be very laggy and frustrating to operate. Is the Redmi 12c laggy? Let's see.

2. The Processor. Built on Mediatek Helio G85 processor, the Redmi 12c is one of the most affordable phones to come with this massive CPU. All the other phones in this price range comes with a UNISOC T606 CPU which is lesser in performance. The processor of the Redmi 12c will ensure smooth performance, which means that the phone will hardly lag.

3. Big Camera. It comes with a 50MP camera that can take clear short. The only phone with a 50MP camera is the Itel S23. However, the s23 has a Unisoc T696 processor which cannot handle a 50MP camera. The processor of the Redmi 12c can. What this means is that those who make TikTok videos can now get a better camera phone for as low as 59k.

The Uglu Side

1. Redmi 12c has an ugly design. This along is the reason why most people refuse to purchase the device

2. It comes with USN 2.0 charging port. All the other phones in this pricerage support USB typr-c port

3. It comes with a 10-watt charger which will take the phone over 2 hurs to completely charge the batter from 0% to 100%.
Phones / If You Have The Chance, Which Will You Pick :tecno Camon 20 Or Spark 10 Pro? by deviceteck: 2:01pm On May 24, 2023
My first instinct will be the Camon 20. I am sure that this is the same for you.

Camon 20 is more expensive and has a better design. It also supports an on-display fingerprint scanner with a more solid camera.

So, will I choose the Camon 20 over Spark 10 Pro? Honestly, I am still thinking about it.

CONSIDER THE FACT:
Spark 10 Pro has a better processor, Helio G88. Camon 20 is powered by Helio G85, slightly weaker. Why the difference in performance may not look much, a win is a win.

ALSO CONSIDER THIS:
The side fingerprint in the Spark 10 is more responsive than the on-display scanner in the Camon 20. Side fingerprints are also more convenient to access since the thumb will automatically align with the power button when you pick up your phone.

Phones / Infinix Note 30 Series: What We Know So Far by deviceteck: 12:03pm On May 20, 2023
The Note 30 Series will succeed the Note 12 Series of last year. That means we will never get to see Note 13. Although the information we have on this series is still unclear, we are sure that there will be at least 4 phones in the series.

Note 30i
Note 30
Note 30 Pro
and Note 30 5G

More detail here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2TiIQXeP_M

For the very first time, Infinix is using the highly efficient Mediatek Dimensity 6080 Chiset of their device. This chipset will power the Note 30 5G, while the Note 30 Pro will be powered by a Helio G00 Chipset.

When compared with the Tecno Camon 20 series, the Note 30 series have some lapses. First, it does not support an on-display fingerprint scanner like the camon 20, despite that the display type used in all the phones is AMOLED. In design, Camon 20 seem to be more beautiful as well.

Here is a breakdown of their available specs, some of which are just rumors.

Note 30i
Helio G85 Processor
128GB storage
Android 13
5,000mAh battery

Note 30

Note 30 Pro

Phones / Tecno Camon 20: BIG LEAK. All You Need To Know by deviceteck: 4:36pm On May 08, 2023
3 days ago, I was handed the Camon 20, the only device semi-available yet in the series.

For one thing, the design is top-notch. See the pictures below for all the convictions you need.

It has a 64MP primary camera sensor and a 32MP selfie sensor. From my little camera test, the pictures are sharp and vibrant.

The display is AMOLED with a resolution of 1080x2400px. For me, this is perfect.

Come to the storage, it runs on a 256GB ROM and 8GB RAM expandable by another 8GB through memory fusion. The processor is MediaTek Helio G85 and the phone is super fast.

It is built on Android 13 with a 5,000mAh Battery. Here is all you need to know:

The only thing that is not available at the moment is the price.

Spark 10c is 4G, not 5G. The battery capacity is 5,000mAh and not 6,000mAh.
There are 5 phones in the spark 10 series.

1. Spark 10c
2. Spark 10
3. Spark 10p

It is not as if the spark 10 Pro has some kind of flaws. But as always, I try to focus on the good, the bad, and the ugly side of any phone I review. So, should you buy the Tecno Spark 10 Pro?

THE GOOD FEATURES
Put simply, the answer is YES. Although it has its own ugly side, the best reason why this phone is worth buying is the fact that it is super affordable when compared with its features. Let's list them below

1. 128/256GB Storage
2. elegant design
3. super cheap
4. Helio G88 strong gaming processor
5. 50MP rear camera and 32MP selfie camera

Aside from this list, the spark 10 series also comes with a bunch of other useful pictures. For example, the selfie camera is not only clear for a video call but it also offers night mode, slow motion mode, film mode, and a flashlight that allows its intensity to be adjusted. Honestly, this is the first Android device with a selfie camera that has all these features. Prove me wrong.

It also comes with version 2.3.2 of Ella, Tecno's own voice assistant. This version is even more responsive and unlike the previous version, it does not require internet connections to confirm and carry out simple commands such as opening apps.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDNAO43LxxI

THE BAD FEATURES

The battery is the only area of concern. A 5,000mAh battery may not be enough to satisfy game addicts. Back in those days, we had phones that are powered by 1050mAh and we were satisfied. As phone manufacturers begin to improve the quality of phones by adding more features, the need to increase battery capacity became necessary.

The spark 10 series enjoys lots of features when compared with the spark 9 of last year. In my opinion, if Tecno deemed it fit to massively improve the quality of the spark 10 series, the battery should not have been left unchanged. So, while a 5,000mAh battery is fair, a 6,000mAh battery would have been great.

THE UGLY FEATURES
As strong as the camera, it only records 1080p and 2k videos (max) at 30fps. If you are an ordinary user, you might think that this is not important, but it is. Imagine taking a video of something or someone a bit far from you and you find out that your exalted 50MP camera footage is not clear when you tried to zoom in. At a party, let's say a wedding, the couple may not be close to you as you need to make a short video of them dancing or sitting on their thrones. Such footage will never be as clear as 4k footage.

This is just my piece, let me know what you think in the comment. The following video is mine as well. Watch, like and subscribe on YouTube, and see you when I make another post here on nairaland.

Everyone is focused on the Spark 10 Pro which is more expensive when the spark 10c which is cheaper has lots of features found in the spark 10 Pro.

The Spark 10c has a big storage of 128GB, just like the first variant of the spark 10 Pro. Within the 3 days I spent with the 10c, it did not lag or overheating. I is stable and the price is just $88k

Another good reason for considering the 10c is that the design can compete with more expensive phones.

In the following review, I did the camera test, which is so awesome. I also talked about the display and performance.

I want to get a low end Android as a second device for making calls and sometimes as Glo hotpost in case Airtel mifi fail me. I was considering this, I think itel phones lag a lot because they still use Unisoc chip as CPU.

I have decided to go for Redmi A1 plus, it's a little more expensive but I think it's better.

Also I don't feel like buying any of them cox they are both expensive, low end phones used to be 20 to 25k back in the days

The first thing Itel wants you to know about this phone is that it is cheap. With only 46k Naira, you can access a 4G device with a wide 6.6 inches screen that is "clear for watching movies."

At first, I thought this was a big win for Itel. After all, Tecno Pop 7 Pro is sold for only 65k Naira, yet the specs are astounding, especially the type-C port feature. This led me to pressure my boss to get the A60 ASAP so I can get done with the review video. After reviewing it, this is what I found

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LHvHoh1LOdU

SPEED: From the very first time I turned the on, it keeps lagging. To open an app is a problem Tap on the camera and it will delay before it will open. Scrolling is not smooth as well.

GAMING: This is yest another problem. I installed Need For Speed from play store and it took 2 minutes and 30 seconds just to luanch. The rest of the story is lagging, overheating and underperformance.

CAMERA: This is the obviouse one. The 8MP camera at the back is not as expected. Itel S18 Pro has the same spec camera but way more clearer.

Helio A22 is a proccesor. The processor of every phone is the major contributor to how fast or slow the phone will run. It is also responsible for making images display clearer and the camera taking clear short. So if your camera is supper good but the processor is crap or the screen has the best resolution but the processor is not good enough, you will still have a dummy as a phone.

With the above in mind, MediaTeck (shortened as MTK) is a company that produces processors that Android phones make use of. Mediatek Helio A22 is among the cheapest, but not the cheapest, processors. Its performance (its ability to make a phone run fast) is slow when compared with MediaTek Helio G85, G96, or Dimensity 900 5G used in 5G phones.

That is why playing games with a phone that is powered by Helio A22 will be much slower than a device powered by G96 Processor.
I am not good at explaining things but I hope this helps.

This is my youtube channel. I unbox and review phones and also make good recommendations on which phone to buy based on your budget. I will appreciate if you subscribe. Thanks

Guys, let us be realistic here. First, I am the OP. In my previous video where I reviewed the 5 best cheapest android phones (video below), I considered Redmi A1+ for 60k. The RAM is 2GB, the ROM is 32GB, the USB is type 2.0, and the camera has lesser quality. I also considered the Infinix hot 20i 2GB RAM variant sold for 72k. The storage is 34GB, supports USB 2.0, and has fewer features. (The pop 7 pro features side panel, 2-way swipe down, and better display software based on my review experience)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOsH1SaoSig

Think of Vivo y02, a more expensive phone with fewer features. Think of Itel S18 pro, about the same price with fewer features (video below). This S18 pro in particular is so painful. Just to activate memory fusion, you will have to upgrade the phone first. To upgrade, the phone, it will take you another 5 hours plus enough data. Yet, it is the same price as the pop 7 Pro.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enlVeD9NiYI

It is not fair to expect anything more than Helio A22 for a 65k phone Period! In this Nigeria that we all know that the price of everything is increasing? No naa. How much is the Camon 19, the cheapest of the Camon 19 series?

The point is, for the price, the Tecno Pop 7 Pro is decent.
