Politics › Re: DasukiGate: We Won’t Release Metuh, Until He Returns N400m — EFCC by Dewze(m): 9:12pm On Jan 11, 2016 |
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has said that the continued detention of the spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is due to his unwillingness to admit and return the ‘over N400 million’ he allegedly received from embattled former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki. Ibrahim Magu, the Acting Chairman of the EFCC, denied claims it was on a witchhunt of leaders of the opposition PDP after its continued detention of Metuh and release of Jafaru Isa, an All Progressives Congress chieftain. Magu claimed that Mr. Isa had begun the process of refunding the money in his possession, Mr. Metuh had refused to do same. ”From the records, Metuh got over N400 million, he has not said anything because we need the public money to be returned so that it’s going to be used for public good,” Mr. Magu said during a meeting with online media publishers in Lagos. “Also Jafaru Isa, what Dasuki gave him was N170 million. He also agreed…of course he has collected that money, he was with us for 4-5 days and then he made a deposit of N100 million and entered an undertaking to bring the rest. That does not mean we will not prosecute him.” “But this other Metuh, instead of going for a refund, he has admitted he collected money…. so instead of… he still has the money because the money is too much. Instead of returning the money, he preferred to go on strike.” Mr. Isa, a former military governor of Kaduna State, was arrested last Wednesday by EFCC operatives for allegedly receiving N170 million from the Dasuki. Mr. Metuh, the Spokesperson of the PDP, has been in EFCC custody since January 5
@bolded. I thought the EFCC earlier said Metuh had admitted collecting the N400 millions. |

The question I should ask here is this. Did Buhari say he refused the money when he was offered, or he was never offered any money? These are two different things you know. |

coolscott: And did Nri comprise all of Igbo land? I think not. In fact, I know it did not because I have read about the Nri before now.
Or do you claim the eze nri is the eze of all Igbos now?
Following is a breakdown of kingship in Igbo land: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eze#Kingship_in_Igboland
Attached below is also a screenshot which still establishes the view that Igbo sociol, cultural, and political systems have been fragmented over the centuries
Appreciating this lets you see how far behind others you are in terms of cultural organisation from a historical point of view.
Appreciating this also lets you see why they have considered you a ridiculous deep fraud when you have tried to claim ownership of their territories by calling it no man's land, or tried to achieve self expansion by declaring them Igbos? Mind you, the oyo empire did not encompass the whole of yoruba land. The Allafins did not rule over the whole of yoruba speaking people. Go through the link you provided for insight. |

Demmocrats: Even though am APC, i have to say the truth the war against corruption is selective. We are know that Jonathan did his looting but when compared to the previous heads of state its like change. If my Sai Buhari wants to fight corruption truly and recover billions of dollars let him start from those below;
1. Obasanjo 2. IBB 3. Abdulsalami Abubakar
Even former vice presidents and governors that are dancing under the umbrella of APC. Guy are you really APC or you are just deceiving us. I've never seen such honesty come out of that camp since inception and never ever thought I would. Kudos. This country does not need APC or PDP and their wicked supporters, what this country need is truth. |

LadyExcellency: The Igbo land you know today is only 45 years old in development.
Do you know that the city Onitsha is exactly as it is today in 1967 development wise before Nigeria troops bombed and leveled the city to stone age consequently destroying everything that moved and stand?
You can't imagine in your lifetime how Aba was before the war.
In all these, Nigerian Government signed a document to reconstruct and rehabilitate Eastern Nigeria as one of the conditions for Biafra to be reintegrated into Nigeria.
Now, ask yourself, where is the reconstruction and rehabilitation by Federal government after 45 years?
Do you know that Buhari borrowed $2.1bn from world bank to reconstruct Northeast Nigeria that the war has not yet ended.
Now tell me what you don't understand by the marginalisation being referred to here. In case you/they missed the first one. Yet, truth be told LadyExcellency, the governors in the south east needs to sit up and do not just more, but right. |

midolian: if you think PDP will come back in 2019, then you need to wake up..you must be dreaming. Nigerians would rather have a KOWA government than a PDP government. You can quote me anywhere You could have been right with this assertion only if Nigerians are politically and morally sane. You forget that you can sell feces twice to Nigerians and they will still buy. All na packaging and re-packaging. APC did it and were successful. |

[qoute] They will settle in a place and build houses with factory, but in Igbo land, there is no northern who has gone there and invest. How many Yoruba people or Fulani people have investment in Igbo land? We are the ones maintaining the economy of this country....[/qoute]
Can't deny or refute this though. |

EazyMoh: Born-to-rule born-to-rule born-to-rule! It is PDP southerners that always use that adjective to describe us. In our arguments, our campaigns, our ideals we never claim we are superior than anyone from any tribe. We all know those who claim to be the Lord's chosen people, the most special Africans and so on and so forth. We only boast of one thing and one thing only, which is our population size. FFK kept mentioning core north leaders core north leaders core north leaders! who are these core north leaders? He conveniently factored out some prominent northerners first by claiming they are from middle belt, but when next he decides to write another article he would claim North rule Nigeria for 39 years. Playing ethic religious and/regional sentiment is a failed theory in modern Nigerian politics as witnessed by FFK and his PDP gang during the last election. If FFK likes he should keep trying hard to bring biased historical events in order to pitch southerners against PMB's government for one reason and one reason only, that PMB is a core-northerner, but I assure you. Nigerians are now very wise to follow that line of reasoning. You are saying Nigerians are now very wise to forget about all the killing that has happened in the North through out our history. You talk like Nigerian history is all about Buhari, PDP and the last election. PMB will pass away someday, like every other man, but the history of Nigeria will remain, and people like FFK will continue to be raised up to remind Nigerians of the atrocities that have been committed against Nigerians in the North that people like you will prefer we forget rather than forgive cause you are too proud to ask for forgiveness for. You've have always seen it as some sort of right and privilege to continue to kill other Nigerians in your lands, that is why you never condemn this acts. This is simply what FFK is saying, whether you condemn or not, the blood of Abel will continue to cry out and vengeance and justice will continue to be meted out. |

They should first cancel every old debts that has accumulated on people's bills by estimated billing on power that was barely provided. Some residential houses in poor areas like Ikotun, lagos are owing up to N100,000 naira as debts due to indiscriminate estimated billing. "NEPA" officials use this debts as a tool to intimidate, bully and put electricity consumers under perpetual bondage. Consumers are virtually prisoners to electricity providers because of these debts. |
