If your family is used to Dstv, moving to free to air would be hard by experience. Tstv would have been good but they are not stable, you can try Nicomsat

Thanks. Nigcomsat is what I am trying to get on my strong max decoder. This is the tutorial that I am trying to follow to track it:
https://www.nibbleng.com/how-to-track-nigcomsat-1r-42-5-degree-east-frequencies-tv-channels/

The problem is that the look and setting of the decoder used in the tutorial is quite different from mine, intact there is means to input and track frequencies manually on mine.

As for my family, they just have to make do with this one for now, it is at least better than nothing.

emmaniche:

Get urself an installer, or u can reach me if ure in lagos?

Thanks for the response. Installer is charging N5000, amount which I don't have now. Actually things have been quite rough lately for me. I was using dstv until the rough times came. I could not afford to continue with the subs and I also do not want my family to continue day in day out without television, so I had to scrape some cash to buy a FTA decoder. Luckily I have a dstv dish already and I am a bit tech savy so I thought I could get it done myself and save money for food.

The thing is that every tutorial I am seeing online does not seem to match with my strong max 4950hd decoder, the setting look different on mine. I think(I could be wrong) the reason is that most of the tutorials are based on older strong decoders.

The image below is my strong max decoder.

Hello everyone. Please which are the best available FTA sats for 80-90cm dish?

Guys, please I need help on this. I am trying to set up my FTA channels. I have a strong max decoder. From my research online, I read that if I want to get nigcomsat, I have to first track dstv eutelsat 36A with transponder value of 12245H/27500 and then adjust my dish afterwards. The issue now is that there is no option to do a manual search in my strong max 4950HD decoder. Though the decoder comes with a lot of already programmed frequencies, including the satellite eutelsat 36A/B, but the sat has just three transponder values associated with it and 12245H/27500 is not one if them.

Please guys I need help on this.

This image below is the screenshot showing the eutelsat 36A/B and the only three transponder values that are available I.e 12624/6200/V, 11109/3407/V and 11221/30000/V. I can't seem to be able to input and search other values than these three.

What are the channels on Free to air (FTA) in Nigeria would you say are worth buying the decoder for? Do they have enough documentary and movie channels? How about reliability, I heard some of the channels disappear from time to time. Please help, I need to decide between the FTA and gotv. Thanks.
Politics / Re - How 25 Senators Can Impeach Saraki By Sunusi Musa by Dewze(m): 3:17pm On Aug 16, 2018
The purpose of this thread is to address an article drawn from the dailytrust and posted here by Hungerbad. The article I suppose is a certain Sunusi Musa giving his own interpretation of the Nigerian constitution as it concerns the impeachment requirement of a House of Assembly president. The article from my understanding is implying that subsection 143(2) of the constitution on its own gives power to 1/3 of the members of the National Assembly to carry out impeachment besides the 2/3 that has always been known.
You can check out the article here https://www.nairaland.com/4678799/how-25-senators-impeach-saraki

I'm not a lawyer and I do not claim to have or ever have had anything to do with the legal proffession. I do believe that I do not need to be a lawyer to understand what is written in the constitution, and from my understanding of what is written in those sections of the constitution mentioned in the article, I can boldly say that interpretation was wrong and myopic. I say myopic because the writer failed to consider the implication of section 143 as a whole but rather picked out subsection 143(2) and made his conclusion solely on that.

Before I go into what the constitution really says I will past the sections he addressed for easy follow up:
Section 50(2) (C) states:
The President or Deputy President of the Senate or the Speaker or Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives shall vacate his office if he is removed from office by a resolution of the Senate or of the House of Representatives, as the case may be, by the votes of not less than two-thirds majority of the members of that House.

54. (1) The quorum of the Senate or of the House of Representatives shall be one third of all the members of the Legislative House concerned.

143. (1) The President or Vice-President may be removed from office in accordance with the provisions of this section.
(2) Whenever a notice of any allegation in writing signed by not less than one-third of the members of the National Assembly-
read more here https://nigerian-constitution.com/chapter-6-part-1-section-143-removal-of-president-from-office/
(3) A motion of the National Assembly that the allegation be investigated shall not be declared as having been passed, unless it is supported by the votes of not less than two-thirds majority of all the members of each House of the National Assembly.
(4) Where the report of the Panel is that the allegation against the holder of the office has been proved, then within fourteen days of the receipt of the report at the House the National Assembly shall consider the report, and if by a resolution of each House of the National Assembly supported by not less than two-thirds majority of all its members, the report of the Panel is adopted, then the holder of the office shall stand removed from office as from the date of the adoption of the report.

Now let me delve into the true and unbiased interpretations of these sections, especially section 143.
Section 143 simply tells you the procedures that should be taken for an impeachment, This is the main thing the writer failed to understand and 141(1) states it quite clearly.

141(1) states that a sitting office holder can only be impeached based on the "provisions" ( emphasis on plural not singular) of this section. Meaning it would need the combination of all subsections of this section to make an impeachment possible, not just one subsection only.

143(2) says that before an allegation against a sitting office holder is even considered at all for investigation, it should have been presented in writing, signed by not less than 1/3 of the members of the House. Meaning 143(2) does not give power to 1/3 to impeach, it only gives them power to tender an allegation.

143(3) says that after the allegation has been presented in writing and signed by 1/3 of the members of the House, the matter will then be brought to the floor of the House for a motion to be passed that the allegation be investigated. it states clearly hear that the motion to investigate the matter cannot be declared as passed until not less than 2/3 of "all the members" of each House of Assembly agrees to it. In other words, the matter cannot be investigated by the House if up to 2/3 do not agree to do so.

143(4) Note: this subsection only comes into effect after the allegation has been approved for investigation by the provision of 141(4) and the panel set up to investigate the matter has submitted a report of proof against the accused sitting officer.. This subsection says that after all that has been done, within fourteen days of the report being submitted, the National Assembly will consider the report. By a resolution, each House of Assembly, supported by not less than 2/3 of "all of its members", not 2/3 of some of them, will then proceed to impeach the accused holder of office

So, in conclusion, that subsection 143(2) does not stand on its own as the criteria for impeachment, rather it is part of a procedure or series of criteria needed.

Note:
Section 50(2) clearly states that 2/3 of all members(not half, not some and definitely not present or sitting members) of a House are needed to make an impeachment. Also, I do not see any where in the sections mentioned by the writer where power is given to the quorom(as described in section 54) to effect impeachment.

This is one of the staunch Buhari supporters. You claim to support Buhari for his integrity, yet you have no integrity yourself. You hail Buhari for fighting corruption, yet berate another person for speaking against the same corruption. Why don't you tell Buhari to stop speaking against corruption simply because it is the way of life here.

Hypocrites are the most dangerous set of people to have as supporters or ally. It is made obvious with this your comment that your support for Buhari is laced with something else other than anti corruption, maybe religion.

Know this, from today, every time and any where I see you make any comment supporting Buhari's anti corruption fight, I am going to quote this your post for everyone to see the hypocrisy in you.

They don't care what others face because of their acts; all they are after is their own selfish lusts. Till date, a Nigerian can't receive money through paypal; a lot of other payment options reject Nigerian or flag your account and monitor it seriously once you are Nigerian. Some peeps have to use illegal means to change their IP and adopt another country just because of these lazy yahoo youths. Freelancers stand at a disadvantage once you register as a Nigerian.

Thank you, exactly my point. Most people that support these boys are either so ignorant of all these negative effects or are selfishly benefiting from it.

I even read the so called hush whatever boasting that Nigeria never did anything for him. He should go to a Dubai TV station to make a public announcement thanking them for all they did for him and let us see the outcome. His only recognition is here in Nigeria, and that is because of our low values and the kinds of people we choose to tolerate and even give relevance to. It's shameful.

Bro, respect to you, but do you realize the effect of the negative image these so called yahoo boys give to Nigerians. They have made it so difficult for citizens of other nations to want to do any legitimate business with us. I am into international trading and so I know what the experience is like. Nigeria cannot grow on the back of yahoo boys. The only reason why a person will support hush whatever is if the person is into the same game or he is indirectly benefitting from it. Though I am pretty hopeful you are not.
