For your information, many married men, particularly the ones that do not cheat, soapy. It is part of life, no big deal.

The benefits of marriage is companionship. Having someone you can be vulnerable with without fears is great.

Yea nigeria economy is the foundation for all other challenges faced by millions of citizens.

But then, some people do too much of wanting to belong, show class, some due to ignorance, peer pressure, lifestyle, etc...

I had friends growing up who lived in one room with their parents; however, one of the things I realized was that they were more sexually exposed earlier than those of us who never shared rooms with our parents. For that reasons, I have never been a fan of people living in similar conditions.

I agree a lot of people pretend online, but let’s we realistic, that amount can’t sustain you in this economy. To have a job that pays 500k, think of the location. It’s most likely Lagos or Abuja. Anyone who lives in Lagos will tell you for free, 500k no carry u anywhere.
My transportation to work monthly alone is 140k, not uber o, I mean Danfo and keke. I stock up kitchen monthly with more than 250k, cus eating out is expensive. Rent is there, you’ll have to save for medical expenses cus you can’t be leaving home daily for whole month and remain completely healthy. Family support too go need come out inside ur 500k. Omo e long jare.

Why do you have to stock up with more than N250k monthly? Do you bulk buy or you buy in piecemeals?

You're either not living in Nigeria or living in the past. Not in today's reality.

A one bedroom flat in places like Lagos is about 2m. That's about 4 months salary. So you have just 8 months salary left with you.

When you factor in bills, light, gas, basic stuffs, Internet, and other things, then you add your transportation money to work and feeding, plus family black tax, you would find yourself struggling and even borrowing to survive.

Then you should know that you won't remain single forever. You'll one day find a spouse, plan and get married. That's more financial responsibility. And your income is still 500k. You can't even fully stock your kitchen with that amount as a married man.

Did I forget to mention that your landlord would be waiting for the end of the year so that he can add 500k to the 2m you're already paying. Which means you'd have to dig deeper into your savings by sacrificing another month so you can pay your rent. Which would make you poorer than you were.

Nonetheless, the reality remains so many Nigerians are earning less than N500k monthly.

We like to copy but never paste rightly. The Student Loan program is a scam ab initio to keep people quiet. By the time you benefit from it and not pay back due to lack of job and greed (smartness as some will take it for those with jobs not paying back), you can't blame the government for whatever the economy outlook is because you would have been one of those who crippled the economy.

To me, it is a blessing over time.
At the initial stage, we were able to get by living paycheck to paycheck. At some point, had to take loans. Today, it is much better with children, a reasonable amount in savings, a reasonable income, and almost owning a house in Lagos in a reasonable environment.

For someone who has about 20 years left in service, can one combine the FMBN loan with the MREIF? Taking N150M suggests that one repays about N220M. Would I be allowed to take this much if I currently have no loans?

Not investing heavily when she could because she needed to please my dad. Her little investments were truly worth it and my dad's hardworking attitude was his saviour.
