Hello Modupe, there are many intermediaries licensed by IRCC that you can use. Try todunconsulting via instagram (also check ircc website for more licensed nigerian organisations); however keep an open mind as they do not offer any guarantees as regards timeframe of an approval of your application.

There are no special spots reserved for agents/intermediaries; licensed or otherwise. In addition, their consultation/professional costs are unreasonably expensive. This is why most people would rather do their research and apply themselves and hope for a positive outcome within the shortest timeframe. The reason you'd be referred to earlier posts is because in all honesty, everyone is busy.

Everyone is motivated by something, so I'd encourage you to find the time for it. This platform has great people who would respond to your enquiries and offer advice et all but of course, you must do your own research as we are all novices who have had and share our good and not so good experiences with IRCC.

I wish you all the best in the route you choose to follow.
Warm regards

modupemomo:
Hello Everyone,

I want to appreciate this forum first of all. I understand that everytime someone asks for an intermediary who can help with the process of relocation to Canada, the usual response is for the person to look through this thread and do it themselves.

It is imperative to note that all of us dont have the same tenacity to do undertake the process ourselves for different reasons. Some of us are so swamped with the travails of life that it is almost impossible to do the processing ourselves. I personally know that I may give up halfway but having guidance will spur me to action. Knowing yourself is equally important so as not to solely embark on a project that will frustrate you in the end.

I know of some people who did it themselves and failed to secure a Canadian visa after rigorous processes. This would seriously be debilitating for some of us and can lead to depression if one is not resilient.

My point is if anyone knows of any reputable and reliable intermediary (I am trying hard not to use the word "agent"wink, please avail us of their contact. Someone who knows the process through and through with integrity.

My goal is to be in Canada in 6 months while I continue to work hard here before then. I do not know whether to go the study route or Express Entry. There is no one size fits all and I dont want to get it wrong. I do know guidance is paramount.

If you can help, it is myself and three children. Please let's confer via email : sarahsamdona@yahoo.com

God bless you all for your input.

Regards

Thanks alot

olasubomy:
Hi Dianne,

The current processing time on the IRCC web for applications for visitor visas done from outside Canada is 120 days, while that done from inside Canada is 36 days. You can use the link below to double-check for yours:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html

I can assure you that they have seen your emails. Most times, they only respond with specific feedback when there is an update on your application or a decision has been made.

Can you try to give them 17 days for your application to clock precisely two months, then you resume compassionate reminders since you are now on day 43. If your application has exceeded standard processing times, keep sending those reminders. To cite an example, you can stress the mental and emotional stress you are going through not being with your spouse for that long and the effect on your kids.

You mentioned you have tried to call IRCC. It is not easy getting those guys on phone but you can keep trying.

All the very best!

TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by DianneM: 11:04am On Jun 03, 2022
Good morning Emjay, what number did you call and what process did you follow.

My partner and i have tried this+1-800-267-6788 through the Viber app but we're unable to connect to a rep because they're all busy. Typically, there should be a queue to wait on, but the call just ends on its own.

I also make this call at 12noon, which is 8am their time, so getting this feedback is weird.

Any advice please?

EmjaySimon:
My husband called IRCC about the delay of my VV application and how it has exceeded the normal processing time, they checked my details on their system and checked the country processing my application.
They told him it’s Nairobi that I should contact them directly true web form or email.
TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by DianneM: 10:11am On Jun 03, 2022
Good morning Olasubomy,

Please how do you determine normal processing time? I applied for the visa based on reunification with family member, the portal says I'll be communicated to within 14-30 business days; I'm on day 43.

I've mailed nairobi, accra, london, abujan new york and sent webforms to but I've only received generic responses.

Thank you

olasubomy:
I am not sure of the purpose of the visit, but this mail to you is a generic one to deter you from bombarding them with e-mails:

• If the purpose of visit is not time-bound and you can still afford to exercise some patience, you can give it a little time.
• If the application has passed standard processing times, send a reminder through a webform and not by e-mail except Abuja.
• If the application has not passed standard processing times, but travel is time-bound and urgent, send a compassionate mail/ request through a webform.
• Give it another two weeks before sending another e-mail and let the mail be periodical like thrice in a week.

It will end in praise.

You probably need to: please check subomy's post for what he did.
You may also need to request a GCMS note.

The subject was " COMPASSIONATE REQUEST"

I actually need my mum to be around as soon as possible, so I explained my situation and pleaded for faster processing. I did this for 2 days, and the 4th day got PPR.

I applied for them and applied as if they are the applicant. I only added my information under the section that asked if they want someone to communicate on their behalf with IRCC. I also used my email as contact mail.

I hope this helps

Document submitted:

My Employment letters, bank statement , proof of residence, PR cards

Applicants doc:

Bank statement for my mum
Bank statement for my sister in Nigeria
Int passport for mum and dad
No marriage cert- I just added birth certificates and wrote a letter to explain.

Deedamie:
Hello Everyone,
i submitted a Visiting Visa Application (Tourist), Hotel Reservation, on the 23rd of November, 2021. This is the first time i will be applying to the Canadian embassy. However i have long travel history to other countries. I used the GC key. Biometrics was done 2 days after but since then, silence. Proposed Travel date is first week in April. I have read comments about a new portal. Should i keep waiting or re-apply on the new portal?

Apologies for the late response. You've probably figured out the link but just incase, here you go.
Link for invite code: https://ircc.canada.ca/visit-visiter/en/get-account-ircc-portal

Link to sign up: https://portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca/signup?lang=en

There's no one size fits all when it comes to what to submit as proofs of returning as cases are peculiar and Visa officers differ.
It's recommended that one shows substantial proof of adequate funding, financial/economical stability, family ties, personal assets, businesses, etc. If you're working, provide proofs of employment, letter from employer showing approval to be away for a period of time, paystubs, etc. If you own a business provide details of your business and funding. Provide details of any travel history.

Explain any lump sum in your account and provide proofs where necessary.

Write a detailed letter of explanation and include a letter of invitation from your spouse.

Hope this helps. Others can chime in.

Hello Olori, can you please share the link to the new portal?

I'm looking to apply for a visiting visa to visit my spouse (PR holder) but I'm very skeptical that I'll get denied seeing that I'm to provide proof of return. Can you please advise?

Anyone with experience can advice also please. It'll be very much appreciated
Thank you

OloriOfMontreal:
If you meet any of the criteria on the new portal, you can reapply by submitting a new application. As far as I know, others who submitted on the new portal and didn't meet the criteria are still waiting for CIC's response. (Well, even those who met the criteria)
So processing time is likely same as applying on the old portal for anyone who doesn't meet the criteria. But I may be wrong.

Moreover, and wrt to the above link posted, CIC is working through a large number of backlog so this may likely impact the processing time on the new portal.

Frankrobbn1:
Receiving multiple gift deeds passes a wrong signal to the visa officer about your personal financial establishment in your home country. Having said that, there is high possibility of being denied on the ground of "Personal Assets and Financial Status". To avoid this, I will recommend you stick to a gift deed from a close relative.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 19 by DianneM: 12:17pm On Jul 02, 2021
Mr. Frank, do you think receiving gift deeds from multiple sources will suffice for my application?

Thank you.
Frankrobbn1:
As a general rule, I don't buy the idea of using third party (Uncle) sponsorship especially if the sponsor is resident abroad. It may it difficult to convince the immigration office that you will have access to funds during your studies in Canada without recourse to public funds. In light of this, I will rather suggest you use a close relative (parents or siblings) to finance your application to study in Canada. If not being able to get one, you should advice the immigration in writing when you receive the NSE request, that your sponsor is resident of United States and do not have a Mybank Statement Certificate.

Hello Mr. Frank, i need a clarification from you please. I have secured admission in Toronto and now wish to proceed with the study visa application. My sponsor (my Uncle) is in the US, and one requirement is to upload MyBankStatement for the NSE route. How do i go about getting this sponsorship if he's not in Nigeria.

Thank you.

Frankrobbn1:
IRCC didn't request for GRE for NSE, therefore submitting one in place of the IELTS Certificate doesn't tally. If you choose to opt out, you're to advise IRCC in writing and provide reasons as to why you can't provide the IELTS.

Hello Kelvin95,

can i mail you please?

kelvine95:
Hi, I know a number of persons who have gotten approved with just funding letter. I personally got full funding and my visa was approved, though I added my personal statement showing around 1.6M to cover for travel expenses and my first 1 month in Canada.

My advice is that someone closely related to you like your dad or mum or sibling should come as a supporting sponsor in the eventuality of let say delayed payment. This person mustn’t be super rich, since your tuition payment and core living expenses are cast in stone. Usually, one won’t be refused based on insufficient funds (having been refused before with full funding), one will most likely get this financial status and personal asset story, and that’s why it is just good to add some personal funds or funds from very very close relatives.

That being said, your application will most likely be approved. Don’t get too worried, just pray a good VO reviews your application.

Best of luck and it will end in praise!

Hi Everyone

Just providing helpful update on my wife's study visa which was approved last week.

She sent her international passport to Abuja Visa Application Centre (VAC), using the DHL 2-way courier, on Monday 7/06/2021. It got to Abuja VAC the next day. Counterfoil notification on 9/06/2021. Letter of Introduction issued on 10/06/2021.

Thankfully, she received her stamped passport on Friday 11/06/2021.

If you can, please send your international passport to Abuja VAC for stamping. Though costlier, it's faster. My wife's took just 5 days in all.

Wishing all study visa hopefuls, good success.

Hello, wow that was fast! I'm just concerned about the window to apply for a student visa. I hear it may be denied even with an offer of admission.

I went through an agent and they have received all the documents they require including the LoR, I confirmed that through the student portal as well.

Thank you for the information though.

Admission to UWindsor takes about 2-4months normally, although I got my admission in abt 2 weeks, I wouldn't knw if it's bcuz of Covid-19 or bcuz I applied in 2018 and was refused. I dnt knw how long it took @spectro to get his admission anyway.

Also note that review of your application doesn't start until al documents have been received, including LoR from professor(s)

Good morning, DianneM

I hope you and your family are keeping safe.

I applied last year's March, and received my acceptance letter on 16/04/2021. I deferred my admission afterwards, because of the Covid 19, and because I had other things I was doing at the time.

So, logically I'd say it took about a month for final decision to be made.
