GAZZUZZ: Calm before the storm.
Always watch your engine oil pressure light.
Sludge is destructive, it is never solved by cleaning, you will still have gradual buildup in the strainer which will block oil flow in future. I least it buys him time, boss can he still get a year use out of it like this? |

With 150k to 200k you should able to handle gear and labour confidently...
After changing avoid any other transmission fluid apart from Honda genuine transmission fluid.
However if your car is V6 automatic, replacing transmission can be factor in as a routine maintenance item say every 5 years.
Best combo for Honda accord is usual Honda i4 engine and manual transmission, everlasting bulletproof |

GAZZUZZ: Back to final work on this vehicle.
Let's do a history check .
The post was made December 27 2020 in one of my free consultation threads.
https://www.nairaland.com/1788778/maintenance-tips-cars/257#97459659
I have highlighted the points to note.
Car was fine until engine oil was changed.
I wrote extensively about switching from mineral oil to synthetic oil in this thread .
https://www.nairaland.com/5398483/warning-dont-buy-synthetic-engine
Let me quote my self.
You can read more in the link provided.
Long story short , protective sludge has been removed by synthetic oil.
To stop the smoke , I will use 20w50 engine oil on the engine , it is thicker oil and will not slip passed the oil control rings as fast as 5w20 would . The smoke will reduce to bearest minimum and will eventually stop after prolonged use.
20w50 is not a death sentence, it is not the best for this engine, but it will work.
I will not be tearing down the engine to replace piston rings as the block could be out of spec, this is the cheapest most efficient way of solving this problem at the moment.
Quick one bro, can we say this will be a temporary solution until engine parks up ? Once read some where that 20w50 destroys engines if not oem recommended and that vtec selonoid needs thinner oil. Would high mileage 5w30 have been better soothed in this scenario? Awesome work... Learning... Thanks |

HottieCoach: Taking longer to come to a complete stop is an obvious sign that your brakes are losing their stopping power. Your brake pads rattling or clicking, grinding, growling and squealing? brake pedal pulsating or vibrating? Change them.
Wagner Thermo Quiet brake pads are one-piece brake pads that give you more braking power , reduces rotor wear (cuts down on brake dust, cleaner wheels) and gives your car a quieter performance.
Vehicles require different front and rear brake sets. Please confirm that you are purchasing the right set(s) for your needs.

Etoo: Good morning fellow nairalanders.
I'm sorry to bring this up but I have endured so much on the shock absorber of my Toyota camry 98 model, 2.2 litres engine . The shock is low and develops one fault or the other as soon as a replacement is installed.
My mechanic advised we should install the shock absorber from a camry 2.4 litres engine. I need to confirm whether they can fit in on my 2.2 litres engine car or is there any other better way to relieve my spending on the shock absorber.
Kindly advice me on this. Thank you. Ask expert like nurey and HeavenlyBang |
