Funny weekend? I guess so, but when u mean top teams? Mhat exactly is the definition of a top team? Caso or Pedigree

If Bill Gates buys MK Dons of Milton Keynes or Plymouth Argyle and spends cash, gets the best players and starts winning, does that make them a top team? Yes  but No too,

Anyway, the London derbys did not suprise me, Its like IICC shooting Stars of Ibadan, playing Femo Scorpions of Eruwa, or Stationery Stores of Lagos playing NEPA of Lagos, it can go either way.

Lyon Losing, well that was a bit of a suprise, but dont forget Renne is not that bad also.

Real Madrid, not suprising, the La Liga does not respect anyone, the premiership is also changing slowly,

Barca?? They are at a slump right now, and they faced a decent Deportivo that hasnt lost a game at home, expected.

Bayern are no more the force of before. They dont have the dominance and fire power of years gone by. The last 2 seasons, other teams like Werder Bremen, Stuttgatt, Schalke 04 and Hamburg have been creeping in.

West Ham / Arsenal, as I said London Derby, Grit and determination will prevail.

Lastly, Spurs / Chelsea, Hmph?? We are actually a decent side now (Spurs that is). We play good football, but we didnt start well, new players, Chimbonda, Berbatov, Zakora, Ghaly have just started with the whole bunch, then we have striker combination problems, who do we use?? Defoe, Keane, Mido, Berbatov

Anyway, Chelsea played well also, but we are a good side that plays free flowing soccer like Arsenal & Man Utd. It wasn't a suprise we won, we havent beaten Chelsea in 16 yrs, YES! But we have gone through a revival, just like suddenly how an unachieving club like Chelsea got Abrahimovich and started winning tropies!

Thats the new way of football, but in all , am glad the Premiership is changing all teams can be beaten!

Is he good, not a chelsea fan, but I think Drogba's good.

Hey Chichimma. Guess I meet someone with a bit of reasoning on this use that shoudn't be generating so so much controversy. I guess religion is just too personal and its difficult for people to just love each other regardless of religion, race, tribe blah blah.

I hear am confused cos I can reason and question religion. Its funny when u come to a forum where youre trying to bring people together through intellectual discuss and you get abused and called all sorts of names. Its all good I hold no grudges, it further inhances the non-Christ in such a person, the born again is a tag, a social tag, being born again is supposed to be being a better person in all facets of your life, ask Mother Teresa (One of my favorite people in the world) and Pope John Paul II (On top of my list also), Mahatma Ghandi etc. I miss those people who sacifice for the love of humanity, not religious profiteers!!!

Anyway am not here to add to your rebuke of me as confused, atheist or whatever, I called myself non-practising cos I don't adhere to all the tenets of Islam by the way Havila.

Ashimolowo should focus on business or religion

Reverend Ashimolowo who is building the £35 million church in the UK should either focus on being a businessman, a magician, or a Reverend. His actions leaves no other preconceptions but the tincture of someone bordering on the fringes of the law. Why that for a Reverend? I'm a stickler for principles. Everyone has their place! No matter how we try to twist and mangle preferences, there is no other way to being a prelate than living and attaining that intensity of piety and sanctity-- carmen. To be a Reverend is not a job or a wage earning occupation of métier. Ashimolowo's priorities are misplaced and untamed, as far as I'm concerned. And there is no way those "starving" for spiritual nourishment could get fulfillment through him. As for those who are actually belly hungry, all he does is to help empty both their pockets and their pots.



This "Man of the Cloth" is not doing much good for the image of Nigerians in Britain . The man can't get out of the Bobbies' heads without always courting controversy and being constantly on the loop. Now he has embarked on a mammoth construction in a country which prides itself on the dimunitiveness of their architecture. And to crown it, he has the tax payers' windfall to prop him up. £35m for a church owned by one individual from a poor African country is a little expensive. Not only that, he is yet to cut the mustard on the front of incredibility. He is known for making outlandish statements spuriously, which at best do not promote the humble and pernucious values of a christian. His dabbling into money making business ventures seem to clash with his position as a prelate whose congregation is boosted chieflly by poor immigrants. Unlike America where he could've merged and blended in total anonymity, helped by the shroud and multiplicity of such churches, Pastor Ashimolowo and his Christian community are sticking out like a sore thumb in England . He is loud and often his controversial life-style seems to border on flouting the laws.



He is already barely being tolerated with a corruption fog hanging over his head. Being friends with other controversial pulpiteers like Creflo Dollar or Pray4$$ Pastor Ashimolowo has put himself under the harsh flair of the Inland Revenue. I hope they unearth more than just another 35 bank accounts. However, the most negative aspect of Preacher Ashimolowo's cockiness is the harm it does to the fledgling black/immigrant churches in England . In a country where the Church died, the upsurge and onslaught of terrorism has made many apostate Brits to find their spiritual side. The Black Churches had suddenly become the most populous every Sunday. His bringing the Church to disrepute will impact greatly on the few amongst the black community whose weekly attendance says something positive for the Black British community. Preacher Ashimolowo somehow reinforces all the prejudices and antipathy towards the Black British.

Last week some papers reported this: Redeem to build $20million (N2.8b) church in California . KICC to build £35 million church(8.7b) in Europe . 2 million have died in Darfur , still counting. 4 million have died in Congo , still counting. AIDS has killed millions and millions will still go. There is satanic hunger and poverty all over Africa . Slavery, the real one still exist in Mauritania , there is human trafficking everywhere on the continent. Our rulers fleece our monies and leave us with bones, dictatorships and misrules all over Africa . Education, health care and social services are in shambles. 95% of the poorest nation in the world and failed states are in Africa . We cannot even take care of our children anymore. Shamefully, it is the Madonnas, the Brad Pits and Angelie Jolies that are coming to adopt, to take care of our children, yet the above bad news.



In South Africa on the dual carriage way between its two great cities Johannesburg and Pretoria, they have their silicon valley, all sorts of telecom and computer giants you can think of are there. In Nigeria along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway is a stretch of religious garbage that has nothing to do with our technological advancement, social progress or moral upliftment. Yet they want to take such titanic sum to build churches in places where their religion is seen practically on the streets. Are we really still sane? When they say there are demonic practices in Africa we are eager to think it is in occult practices or ritual murder. Excuse me it is also in the above bad news. Far less than one quarter of that amount is sufficient to engineer a meaningful cultural revolution, develop the next generation Africans that will turn the continent around in 10 years.

I have no desires to condemn any of your beliefs. I didnt even say my faith was the road to heaven. I didnt say I had attractions to Buddism, Sikhism, Judaism ecetera .Just pure knowledge and an understanding of what they're all about, SIMPLE - U are not God, U were not there when your religion started (As usual u so called born agains will say its not a religion), Have u tried going to an all while church in the heart of Mississipi

I have 4 around my area (Redeemed, TREM, Catholic, White Garment), in just one lil 3 street radius where everyone knows everyone, PS. One Pastor drives exotic cars with police escort while his flock looking miserable and hungry walk. Talk about humility, Jesus (Peace be Upon him), borrowed a donkey, remember, My God is not a poor God??

Have you even consulted Deuteronomy V:12 (Not Malachi) about what tithe should be used for?? Seek the chapter, it explains tithe very well and what it shld be used for. Not the Malachi version penticostal pastors use to extort money from poor men.

Its very pathetic when I hear criticisms about religion this, religion that, Jesus this Muhammed this ecetera ecetera ecetera! Am actually a Muslim, but an open minded one. I actually have 2 Qurans, and 2 Bibles I constantly read, not for the sake of religious fanaticism or zealotism, but to educate myself and try and find out through scolarly pursuit what this life is all about. Mind you, it doesn't stop there, cos am also interested in other religions like Buddism, Sikhism etc (mind you Nigerians generally believe that these religions are devilish and anyone practising them wont go to heaven). Who are we to judge??, There are too many contradictions in the Bible, there is too much Jihad in the Quran etc etc,

God (Who if we were brought up not to believe in , we wont actually believe in like some Chinese), did not invent religion. God never said, You must be a Christian or Muslim or Sikh!! EVIL MAN INVENTED RELIGION. Did Christ say " Become Christians and heaven is yours??", wasnt it Peter or was it Paul a mortal man that was the first Pope??

Karl Marx said, " Religion is the opium of the oppressed", Look at Nigeria today, Churches everywhere telling you if you don't give tithe youre going to hell, scandal after scandal all over the place. I just came back from a trip to South Africa, lovely place. Look at Nigeria with all the Mosques and Churches, NOTHING! Corruption, disease, poverty and despair prevails. In the UK you dont ever see the white man that brought his religion and also discrimminates you from attending particular churches cos youre balck.

Didnt the same white man that spoke about salvation bomb "your" churches and kill black children during the civil rights period in America? Do you know that Jesus (PBUH) was not even "White". At least one good thing about Islam is the unity , There is no discrimmination in Islam, Ave been to Mosques all over in the world and no one cares what colour of skin you are (PS Remember Bosnia & Chechnya). They are white Muslims, Have you gone to check the history of your religion and the similarities between the pagan religions?? Trinity, virgin birth, son of God, Christmas, Easter etc Its easy as u mentioned, its all on the internet, Just type in Google - "Paganism and Christian beliefs" or "Osiris" or "Isis"or preferably type "attis or Mithras or Eleusis or Adonis/", you'll get so much data. You'll be amazed at what you'll get!

Dont get me wrong am not an apologist for Islam , I abhor  the situation where they kill in the name of religion, Shites and Sunnis killing themselves in Iraq, September 11, Jihad, Suicide bombings and other practises, It just dosent make any sense. I guess youre probably cut up with your religion that u dont ever wonder what religion you would have practised if you were born in India, Burma or in the Jungles of Borneo.
