European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 2:52pm On Jan 25, 2007
Vieira

I dont think age was a factor here, remember we were the youngest team in the Premiership last season. The old guns are, Keane, Berbatov, maybe Zakora, but all the others are really Kids, Even Keane's just 26. Dawson? Lennon? Gardner? Not old at ALL!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 1:59pm On Jan 25, 2007
Xsay!!! My Post just now was sent after your's. Jenas? Yeah I know he's back in training with Davids and Stalteri, The problems not really the midfiled. Well in terms of scoring goals, Jenas can be useful too. Davids is a bit too rough nowadays, Too many yellow cards. Its the defence we need to tighten up. Gareth Bale's still young, dunno much about him. May just be the hype that surrounds English players!

Anyway, as ave always mentioned repeatedly, we need a bad arse finisher! thats all. Berbatov is a bundle of skill, so is Defoe, BUT we need a KILLER!!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 1:37pm On Jan 25, 2007
OK OK,

I get the Point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I guess you Gunners MAY have the last laugh,

I like your boyz actually, ur style of play's similar to ours, and Arsene Wenger, fantastic for discovering new/young talent, but the again so is Martin Jol, what I think we're lacking is self belief, and that MUST win attitute, we go to the snooze mode too often when we are ahead, Lets wait till next week at the Emirates!
wink
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 12:01pm On Jan 25, 2007
Xsay!! I was impressed with the way we actually bombarded them initially,

But as usual, it didnt come as a shock that we let it slip away.

We have a way of never finishing off teams, dunno whats wronghuh Am speechless at this juncture. It the same thing over and over and over this season. Is Rochas playing the second leg? I hope King will be back, cos our defensive guys are too slack. Robinson?? Stupid for coming out. Not good enough for the England number one, at this stage, I think David James shld take over, he's been superb this season!

angry sad angry sad huh lipsrsealed cry cry cry shocked angry

SPURS SIGN ROCHA
Tottenham Hotspur have signed defender Ricardo Rocha from Benfica for an undisclosed fee.
The 28-year-old was in London on Monday to undergo a medical and will bolster Spurs' defence following recent injuries and departures.

Thank God for defensive Cover! Hope we improve our leaky defense,

Now we need a Finisher, Kills Dem Gunners!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 10:44am On Jan 23, 2007
I hope we can beat the "young lions' of Arsenal cos our "young tigers' are not playing with vigour, dunno whats wrong with US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone even fans of rival clubs think we are messing up,

I admit!! We are, we need one top class striker that can put the ball in the need with lil skill (like the Van Nistelrooy or Paulo Rossi), One centre half (cos Ledley Kings always injured) and a bad arse left winger to compliment in front.

Why did Jol sell Kanoutehuh? Still a mystery to me, he's now the highest goal scorer in La Liga!!

I will shead no tears if we lose!
SportsRe: The Fickleness of Nigerian Soccer Fans by didoflex(m): 4:30pm On Jan 22, 2007
Vieira, I guess we have more in common, IICC!!!!! Shooting Stars!!!!

That's my team although they got relegated AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, another thing that happens in Naija, when they talk abt an Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea match and you say "Oh, I missed that game moreover none of them are my teams" and you tell them to guess which team, they mention the ones they know, then mention Barca or Madrid!!! We are talking about the Premiership not La Liga!!! They forget that the Priemiership is made up of 20 teams!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its irritating, almost illiterate!!

Up Shooting!
SportsRe: The Fickleness of Nigerian Soccer Fans by didoflex(m): 2:02pm On Jan 22, 2007
Hi there Viera. Remember mehuh?? Spurs?

The simple reason for the fickleness is that Most of the Naija fans follow the crowd. Come to Lagos, its just a fashion trend to support Arsenal, Chelsea or Man Utd. Liverpool hardly has support, but you'll find that most supporters of Liverpool are older guys that grew up watching the likes of Kenny Dalgish or Ian Rush play.

Its just a fashion trend for most of them. The Jerseys, the hype, the arguements. Its just fashionable. PERIOD.

When I get asked about the Premiership from anyone and I say my team is Tottenham Hotspur I get , what teams that? Yesterday, 2 guys were still talking abt the Arsenal /Man Utd match at a party I was at, and when I said I supported Tottenham, one Said: "Does anyone in Lagos support Tottenham"?

Lagos is all about following the Joneses, am not like that, There are still some true fans of those teams I admit, but in 'Gidi', its just the trend to try and be fashionable or trendy!

PS. Thats me in the Pic

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 3:48pm On Dec 21, 2006
Ok, so we beat Southend the conquerors of Man Utd,

Give US any of the London teams,

Hope Arsenal qualify though,

We need to prove our worth against our greatest foes, we already beat Chelsea this term , no need for them.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 8:28am On Dec 18, 2006

Nice win huh? Did you see Huddlestones Goal??
Up to 7th on the table now.

First win on the road, Poor Man Utd, they lost, Knew it was going to be tough,

Chelsea ground it out again!!! Drogba's just too badd!!!

Arsenal, Lucky,

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 2:40pm On Dec 15, 2006

Hi ave been away for a while, WORK!

Yeah I admit we were Thrashed by the Gunnners. We are actually TERRIBLE on the road!! We havent won away this season. I guess when you come to Whitehartlane Then you will get beaten!

Merry Xmas All!! cheesy cool smiley
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 9:46am On Nov 29, 2006
Good discuss going on here I see. cheesy smiley

Anyway back to Spurs / Arsenal.

I think the midfield will be key. We have more physical/stronger players than Arsenal. Zakora/Davids. Its a pity J.J is injured, but we have Lennon back to Terrorize Clichy. Clichy is actually a good lad. Its going to be an interesting contest on the left flank.

Spurs plays neat football (not Physical like Bolton or Blackburn), but as Jackal said , Arsenal lack the killer person. Arsenal needs a finisher in the likes of Van Nistelrooy, You play dreamland football, but does all that ballet count as goals??

We have Berbatov and Keane, Defoe is not playing to badly although he's not getting enough playing time. I probably see Keane and Berbatov starting (and u know the Bulgarian is on Fire). None of Arsenals strikers are on fire!!

Intriguing game, probably a lot of goals like the 5-4 of 2004.

But a draw at best for Arsenal, Likely win for Spurs though!!!

Lover u reckon its gonna go your way, Its going to be entertaining no doubt, In fact probably going to be the best and most free flowing match to be seen in the Premiership,

Both sides will definitely score,

My Prediction(s) Tottenham winning, 2-1 / 3-2/ 4-3 etc

Hey Wormy!! Long time! Kitaun how far and LoverBwoy!

Anyway, am not aware of any brown srip we wear away. What we wear  happens to be blue. Well I hope this consistency continues.

Unfortunately I didnt watch the game on Sunday, travelled to Ibadan. I actually am inclined towards Man Utd this season. I didnt think they'll do good this term, but theyve not been so bad at all. Arsenal are in trouble!! Why cant they score with all those chances createdhuh JUJU??

We are tenth now, lets hope we go on and go on!!

HEY GUYS , WE BEAT BAYER LEVERKAUSTEN AT HOME, BERBATOV, SCORING AGAINST HIS OLD CLUB, 3 WINS, NO LOSS, KNOCK OUT STAGES OF THE UEFA CUP!

NOT BAD, NOT BAD.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 9:33am On Nov 20, 2006
Hi, Chelsea beef??

Na!

As usual I predicted a 1-1 Draw with Blackburn, spot on!

Our away form's still terrible!!

Anyway, Man Utd's still on top (they seem not to waver), Geremi struck (he's been exceptional anytime he comes in for Chelsea), Arsenal?? My friend that supports them thinks some rival supporter has cursed his beloved team (they create, but can't score, Wassup?), Liverpool (Inconsistent as usual).

Not a fantastic weekend overall, numerous draws!

Peace!

Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Muslims Do This? And Even Muslim Women Too? by didoflex(m): 9:37am On Nov 16, 2006
I actually left this thread because of the ill wind and "semi-hatred" it was creating. Am only writing in this thread because when you hear a person of peace talk and someone who has taken time to welcome all people, no matter what faith theY belong to, it comforts the heart and makes you know that the world is not such a bad place after all.

Feelgood

I read your post and it has actually warmed my heart and made my day. The bickering and superiority talk about one religion being the way to Paradise must stop. As you said there are bad Muslims and Christians. There are good Muslims and Christians. I am a Muslim and I detest anything that involves hatred due to religious beliefs. As quoted in the Quran:

The Cow 2:62:"Believers, Jews, Christians and Sabaeans – whoever believes in God and the Last Day and does what is right – shall be rewarded by their Lord; they have nothing to fear or to regret.

So what are we on about. Yes we have our differences in how we think Paradise is going to be attained. But is it through acrimony and harsh words and evil deeds, that we'll attain eternity with the Lord?

I just want US all to live together in happiness. That to me is worth more than the religiousness we all speak about.

I rest my case and I thank feelgood again for his Post.

GOD BE WITH US ALL.
Christianity EtcRe: Are Catholics Really Christians? by didoflex(m): 5:14pm On Nov 15, 2006
Catholicism was the first Church, The rest are all break ups (Remember Henry VIII and divorce).

The Started the whole thing in the first place.

SO THEY ARE THE ORIGINAL CHRISTIANS.
Christianity EtcRe: Which Religion Has Love Among Its Members? by didoflex(m): 5:11pm On Nov 15, 2006
Really don't know, Islam is less divided than Christianity in terms of sects, but the Shiites and Sunni's still kill themselves in Iraq everyday.

Maybe the Buddists or Sikhs or Hare Krishna, I really dont know.

You see religion is a man made institution. God did not divide people and say belong to this religion or that. Man created various religions.

Man himself is divided in terms of race, language, geographical location etc, so I guess NO religion has total love among its members. They just TRY!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 5:01pm On Nov 15, 2006
Yep, you're absolutely spot on there.

Its a big concern actually. You end up in Europe then u burn out. Especially for the smaller/mid-size clubs.

But we are above the middlesbroughs or Charlton, even Evertons not as big as us.

We are the 13th richest club in the world, not that that always translates to success (Newcastle is above us).

What we have a lil of a large squad of young players that can fit in when it matters. We are never going to fight relegation, nope! But we may not go as high as fourth this term.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 4:05pm On Nov 15, 2006
NOPE. Its impossible for Spurs to be like Newcastle. Question: Have you ever watched Newcastle play? Then you'll understand what am on about.

Huddlestone?? U like or what? He's English, second team player, I think we got him from Derby (not so sure)

Remember we have a very young team, youngest in Premiership, Just need to get the mix right.

Also before Reading, we were 10 games unbeaten in all competitions. So we arent like Newcastle, not in the least.
SportsRe: The FA Premier league Quiz Thread by didoflex(m): 4:00pm On Nov 15, 2006
1. Roberto Di Matteo/ played for Chelsea/ Retired in 2002 due to injury/Also scored the fastet goal in FA cup history. I remember that match, cos I think his sister had heart problems and she was there in the crowd watching him.

2. Gianluca Vialli/ Player Chelsea/ Player-manager Chelsea after Ruud Gullit's sack.

3. Thats Mark Hughes. He played for Man Utd. Hes the coach of Blackburn Rovers or is it Birmingham?

4. Highest goal scorer in Premiership, Dont think anyone has scored more than Alan Shearer - Former Newcastle/Balckburn Rovers
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Tottenham Hotspur Supporters Inc by didoflex(op): 3:40pm On Nov 15, 2006
No, as of that time we wanted him, he was still very much in Inter, Long before Newcastle ever came up.

It wasn't a desperate move for him by Jol, so we didnt want to spend so much,

Newcastle was desperate for players and they have cash cos of their huge fan base, but now do you think he's playing good ball??

Think of Albert Luque!
