Good day house I need help,am at roofing stage in my project and the builder gave me a quote for metcoppo step tile 0.45mm 1,980 per sqm and 0.55mm as 2,420 per sqm am a novice when it comes to these things as am not in the country how true is this,note site is in Benin Edo state,I will really appreciate a response to my question before i end up being cheated as I don't know how true it is.

Ask for the name of the company he intends to buy from.

Get the numbers of some good companies here, call and negotiate prices with them, tell your roofer to go give them his cutting sheet/list. They would be glad to get it moved to your site but also factor in the cost of transportation.

Me and my carpenter was at anifowoshe at ikehpja today to price the ceiling sheet and we got the 2 by 2 a back of 10 for 1700 per one. He said we going to using 40 pkts that 400 pcs.

Now to my question, The carpenter said there is way we can combine it wih POP that he will not use tie rod he will just nail them to the ceiling logging and the pop guys would come and fill the space and do scride it and do collins around the enclosed space.

I have been trying to check for pictures but am not seeing any.

Can anyone who has experience in these help me out.

Yeah! When they finished with the screeding and cornice, you could hardly tell the difference between it and full POP.
I don't have a picture now.
Though the ones they use is different from the ones in the pictures you posted.

Sumo is the product name of Standard Aluminium.
I have used it once and no issues since then.
If you intend to use the step tiles, go for 0.55mm otherwise use 0.45mm.
They are more pricey than the Chinese imported ones.

The fence will not collapse without those pillars at the edges.

Later, the bricklayers will remove the beacons and cast pillars in their place.

Congrats and welcome to the house.

Do you have the authentic survey plan for the plot?

If the area is fully developed, you can go ahead and remove the beacons. But if the area is not yet developed that is no structures around your plot, roads and drainages have not been mapped out then leave the beacons and just do your fence so that tomorrow you won't be accused of fencing outside the beacons especially if there is no survey yet.

Here is the final quotation we got from a builder to lay the roofing wood for a 4 bedroom
house under construction on about a plot of land.
I'm not an expert in this area, let the experts in th house help me out. Is it ok?

1) Facial board 22 pieces @ N1800 each = N39,600
2) 2 X 6 wood 40 pieces @ N1,000 = N40,000
3) 2 X 4 450 pieces @ N500 = N225,000
4) 2 X 3 350 pieces @ 450 = N157,500
5) 5 inches nail 3 bags @ N8,500 = N255,000
6) 4 inches nail 2 bags = N17,000
7) Oja-Agba(3 bundles) @ 1,500 = N4,500
8 ) Labour for carpentry = N160,000
9) Transport = 20,000

Total Cost = N689,100

What I'm more concerned about are the prices of the materials and the specified
quantities.

I have removed the cost of omo onile.

You didn't give us the dimensions of the building so it's difficult to get you the exact quantities.
From experience, the woodwork including labour should not be more than 450,000 (with complete sizes of wood not solo) and I didn't see the 2x2 that would be used for noggins.
2x6 - 20pcs
2x4 - 160pcs
2x3 - 180pcs if you intend to use longspan aluminium and 220 pcs if you intend to use the step tiles.
2x2 - 160pcs if you intend to do noggin for ceiling.

Then labour should not be more than 80,000 naira.

As for the prices, go to the market alone on a good day and do price survey. You might end up not buying from them but you would have gotten a good idea of the prices.

For the woods, go with a tape, pen and paper. There are two sizes in the markets, solo and complete.

Then there are various wood types and their prices vary.

You can't use more than 3.5 bags of nail for that building.

Good luck but don't be anxious or quick to part with your money, be convinced to a good extent b4 paying for anything.

Hello nairalanders, I stay at suleja.. My dad stays at mararaba.. Now he's looking to buy a land for us(my sister and I) I have gone to check out the land and I like it.. The thing is I've never bought a land before and I don't want to fall victim to fraudster..the land is Fenced and a "NOT FOR SALE" sign is writing on the fence.. Maybe someone tried to sell the land before the owner inscribed the sign on it but the owner desires to sell it now.. The above explanations covered the idea for its use. I will not recommend it in Nigeria because the method requires close supervision and clear structural mathematical calculation. Less me just say there is less room for mistake when building such deck. The iron used has to be the right Fy and the concrete right Fc as well. Concrete characteristic is compression strength, while iron's is tension. Tension is experience in the bottom of a slab while compression is exact on the top section of a slab. if the bottom section does not deform excessively, then the concrete at the bottom area of a slab do not serve much engineering purpose other then composition for the iron rod. Anyways, i have to stop here before i loss non-engineering NL

Using 10cm ceiling strip, you'll need 22 lengths including joints. 36 length without joints but there'll be offcuts to use in other areas.

Using 20cm ceilings strip, you'll need 11 length including joints. 18 lengths without joints but there'll be offcuts to use in other areas.
