Quartz is manmade, very hard wearing and is available in a wide range of colours and has a mirrored-fleck. It’s available in 20 or 30mm thicknesses like granite or marble and comes with a range of edge details such as bevelled edges. Quartz has added benefit of an active built-in anti-bacterial protection making it very hygienic.

Quartz is also highly stain resistant and scratch resistant, too, but as with all worktops, extra care must be taken and always use chopping boards and trivet just in case.

I took some shortcuts on my build and will take some more but will round about and correct then when I am living there 100% (won't happen for some time).

One of the few places I will never take shortcut is in electrical. All my cables and outlets will come from the US.

Instead of decking the kitchen I implore folks to think of using high quality cables and outlets, using whole house surge protector to ensure that only 230v or so comes into the house and also using multiple electrical boxes with as much individual circuits and breakers as possible. Those are the things that are mostly going to protect against fires and not decking.

3. Casting of oversite concrete 66 bags x N500 = N33,000 (the cement used here is part of our old stock, cost already captured earlier)

A few of the doors are China made, but of very high quality, we have Amac Gold, and other brands, then some Turkish doors. These tiles are specially made for skirting. Not to be cut.

I have seen some of those so-called structural engineers at Alausa. With 10k people like you will get anything approved just to rip off your clients.
I will surely employ my own structural engineer and will NEVER use a structural engineer brought by the builder/contractor. He is an accomplice if you know what I mean.

Melina isn't to be used all through for Roofing. In my own opinion, Melina is the best wood for Nogging and perhaps Purlin, followed by Ogborugboru.. It is malleable. Doesn't crack when nailed and doesn't stress the Carpenters nailing it.
Some woods do not need treatment AT ALL. it's just to add power to power that I encourage people to treat their wood. I can put some types of wood inside a termite zone and nothing will happen to them. Enough said.
