well that's part of the reason why apart from rentals you will have to make it a social/community bonding event (and cash prizes to the mix and tournaments alone will be making your profits!).

Good thinking, but I've thought this before.my solution was very simple.They go through the same thing abroad so I checked for their solution to it. All people borrowing games have to pay a subscription before they can rent it. The subscription Nigerians would pay would be monthly. Imaging paying 5k/month and renting as many games as you want butonly ably to collect 1 at a time. If you decide to keep one, you'll lose cus the value of the game would be below the subscription.

nice solution, however i think it would also have to involve some promotion to promote the gamers community; propably organising local, regional and national gaming contest. With the right effects am sure you could get all these telcoms companies to sponsor the bills since a lot of them are targeting the youth segment aggressively

Why the need for this thread?

Most of us will agree that though Nigeria has come a long way in terms of required infrastructure to promote digital commerce there’s still a whole lot missing in promoting the digital lifestyle practiced in US and other advanced economies. Nigeria now has an acceptable level of inter- connectivity, but we are still missing amongst other things a centralized identification database, end to end reliable postal delivery network and an information driven & aware law enforcement system.

While awaiting all these bottlenecks to be fixed we will just have to adapt the term “digital commerce” to make provision for the “Nigerian factor”. Hence the idea for the Ibadan marketplace, a platform that uses the internet to gather information and locate opportunities BUT that implements trading strictly by physical exchange hence the limitation to the Ibadan metropolis.

To cut the grammar short this thread is for buyers and sellers based in the city of Ibadan! Please ignore any post for items outside Ibadan as this will involve you sending money or items based on trust, and while there are 20% honest people out there you never know when you’re going to meet the 80% that are scammers! I need to print some marketing t-shirts and am quite picky about how they come out. I need to print the t-shirts to look like airtels current red and white promo tshirts. I dont know what the method used in printing them is but i know its not screen printing and definitely not heat transfer. Does anyone have any idea where i can get such prints done (am not doing a lot just about 30 t-shirts). thanks

i must agree you have your priorities totally wrong.

Its one thing to be able to put together a website(open source or code) its another thing to make it run as a recognized brand. Because one can put together a website does not guarantee you can make the website a visible brand (that's a different set of skills entirely!).

Besides before taking on a competitor that has reached critical mass in your selected market (and mind you this particular competitor you have chosen to take head on is a near monopoly  !) you should do your homework, and preferably underground and unnoticed.

If you succeed you really wont need to scream for attention ; your competitor will instantly take notice of you.
