That's an interesting question. I'm inclined to believe that to the extent we discover more knowledge our belief in God would evolve. Just like our ancestors of old thought the rains were the cries of the gods till they discovered the mechanics of cloud formation, condensation and precipitation, certain parts of our beliefs that attribute aspects of our reality to God would get explained away by the new knowledge brought by the aliens. Perhaps they'll explain the psychic basis for spiritual euphoria. I dunno. But as long as there are still gaps unexplained, you will still have religious&spiritual folks. After all the pope has acknowledged the possibility of extraterrestrials and has pontificated quite a bit on the spiritual significance of that possibility The one caveat though is if we are dealing with post singularity lifeforms. In that case their exponentially superior technology would elevate them significantly above us as though they were Gods and most of us would worship them. If you're unfamiliar with the concept of the technological singularity this might sound strange. |

Family / Re: Are Nigerian Women Truely The Most Unfaithful? Vanguard Article by digitalembrace(m): 2:59pm On Apr 09, 2015 |
Has this author sampled girls from other countries? It's awfully looking like he's got a sample space of one country, at least that's the much I can garner from that article. Nigeria has a lot of wahala but I'm hesitant to believe there's any evidence to include most unfaithful women in that bunch. 1 Like |

Education / Re: How To Choose A Good Project Topic? by digitalembrace(m): 8:24pm On Apr 08, 2015 |
Olarewajub: The first thing is to get familiarized with the latest research in your field. You do this by reading research papers. Ideally, you should have been subscribed to some magazines or journals to stay current. When you've read the latest papers( You don't have to understand them completely you just need the general idea of the problem they're trying to solve) you'll get to know what the latest unsolved problems are in your chosen field. Then you can choose one or a piece of one that interests you and focus your research on that. Alternatively, you can just walk up to a prof and ask him for a suggestion. He can give you a subset of his own work. This is what I remember. |

This works. Every time he uses the toilet he's to assume he's dreaming and try to convince himself he is by pinching himself or reading fine print around or anything else difficult to do in a dream and try to wake up. Even if it's real life, conditioning himself to be uncomfortable in a bathroom and always trying to wake up as though he's in a bathroom dream will make him more likely to question himself when he's about to bedwet because it's typical to dream you're in a bathroom when you're actually sleeping and peeing. |

Crixina: Glad we could agree on something. I often say picking a girl up is like dealing drugs. You're essentially trying to administer dopamine and possibly make a junkie out of her. Vulgar analogy, I know, but it's apt. Humor is the most popular delivery vehicle for dopamine but each girl is different and there's often a palette of things that rival humor you can discover and exploit. A mixed cocktail off that palette makes for a more potent druggie. I've met those that get a high off other's misfortunes and others that get tickled by effeminate mannerisms from a guy and some that get a high out of a brash uncouth fellow and ITKs that get their kicks from a dumb guy. 90% of the work is being observant on all cylinders. Even then, personalized humor is a complex beast to master on a theoretical level as opposed to just going off creative instincts. Being able to classify humor and other features off her palette on the fly, unpack it, identify its salient bits and incorporate all that nimbly in engaging thoughtful conversation is a skill set on its own but when mastered could actually make you a victim of the proverbial "getting high on your own supply" because it really does feel good to identify someone's strings and pull at will. Totally makes me feel like a creep sha cos when I say "hi" and she's thinking who's this one now sef? I'm running on all cylinders looking for avenues to slip some dopamine and in due time every evoked laugh is a result of a calculated Salvo. Worst part is, all that metacognizant work often gets me more interested in my internal dialog and the process more so than the conversation I'm having. I guess that makes me a narcissist. On the bright side, when I do fall in love, it's with a mental model of a person I assembled, which I feel is the purest form of affection. Completely unrestrained from physical attributes. So I guess that's the up side. Don't mind me oh, I looked at your profile and saw that you write stuff so I decided to drop my own fantasy. Lol. 1 Like |

Crixina: Lol Yeah. Girls aren't a monolithic bunch. What pleases Aisha mustn't please Chichi and this is just one trick from a bag of tricks. I find that a good opener to pique her interest often isn't as important as getting a handle on her sense of humor as the conversation gets along. It's more art than science but what's important is learning from each attempt and having fun while you're at it cause if she ain't feeling you she ain't feeling you. It's okay if some think you're just plain dumb. It's a numbers game. 1 Like |

yomi007k: Yeah this is common sense. The problem is how to implement it. What will you do to compel all in positions of authority to punish crimes and enforce laws and encourage local production etc etc especially when the majority of them profit from the dysfunction. The devil is in the details. |

Interesting question. Unfortunately, there's no simple answer. I suspect that if God answers the question it would be specified as an overwhelming mathematical solution with a million moving parts requiring military precision it is implementation. |

chika4realike: First things first. Suicide is never an option. It's cowardly and brings nothing but pain and shame for the families involved. Having said that, Guy, I've been down this path of the quintessential olodo. I couldn't remember a damn thing to save my life. Now don't get me wrong. I had short bursts of brilliance in non memory related tasks but my inability to remember was a little too pathetic. That's actually what got me to take a deep dive into cognitive psychology to really understand what's going on beneath my nogging and why I no fit perform. Quite honestly, that was the most rewarding experience of my life. I can share my experience with you and share some prescriptions that worked for me with you offline if you're interested. |

Twaci: Lol. cheesy lines require a lot of tact. You can't just deploy them out of the blue like that on some random girl and expect good results. Me I like to switch from thick igbotic accent swapping Rs and Ls to impeccable English with a whiff of British nobility. Always takes the conversation to pleasant places. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

D no fit die on the first roll because of Pythagoras theorem. There are five units on that slant so the cutout would align nicely with his head. After that roll we need to figure out if the velocity of the ball is high enough to skip over the other ball at rest. If it is B and A are in danger. It is not impossible for the ball to roll backwards eventually. We don't know the density of the balls so we can't conclusively say the lever would swing either way IF the ball stops on the free side of the lever. There are too many assumptions needed (friction, slippage etc) to calculate if the cutout would align with B's head and if the KE of the ball would be sufficient to pivot over the edge protecting A. The question is probably just a trick question to traverse the scope of one's ability to reason through a problem and really doesn't expect an answer, just good explanations grounded in good science for whatever answer is chosen. Depending on how you shift the variables anyone can die. |
