PoliticsRe: Prof Pius Is A Prophet, Lol by DIKEnaWAR: 12:39pm On May 08, 2016
We all know that Nigeria as it is run today cannot be devoid of violence and bickering. You don't need to be a prophet or rocket science to know that.

Until we run total fiscal Federalism, development will keep eluding us. Let every state generate their revenue, spend the money and pay subventions to the FG. Any state that is not self-sustaining can merge with others.

You can't take money from the neglected and down-trodden people of Niger-delta to go and 'purchase' grazing route for Fulani normads or to create North East Development commission, when you have neglected the geese that lays the golden egg.

BTW, I am not from the South South or IPOB(D?) Or a wailer.

PoliticsRe: Ocholi: Kaduna VIO Disbandment Affects Minister's Crash Report by DIKEnaWAR: 6:54pm On May 07, 2016
Bollocks!

Will VIO's report wake the late Ocholi from the dead? How I wish VIO died in place of Ocholi, so Ocholi can be asked to make a report on why VIO died in the whole country.

VIO stands for Very Idiotic Oppressors. They are a menace and a torn in the flesh and should be scrapped all over the country.

I think south Sudan people rank number one when it comes to worwor; from Salva Kir to Reik Machir and Alek Wek. They all look like badly treated Masai's of Kenya.

See suit. See tie. See hat. Dude is just not it biko. If na me I go sack am sef.

LiteratureRe: Things Fall Apart VS Arrow Of God (pics) by DIKEnaWAR: 3:04am On May 06, 2016
Olakunle007:
Please, pardon me if my reply is not explanatory enough. I read the book just once and the very days i read it is something I can't remember. Just to tell you how far it's. Know it well the novel is a tragedy in which we learn to understand what kills great men. Ezeulu, you mentioned is a great man, no doubt. But I think his ultimate reason for not eating those yams is to punish the people. I can remember I read it the elders saying they will take the punishment on their heads. Ezeulu only used the god as a coverup. When the people realize their yam will perish make them to follow the new religion, which is Christianity. I would have given a good picture of the whole thing but I have forgotten most characters and events in the book. To worsen the matter, a friend of mine had taken it away.
Worthy observation, but the question is; is Ezeulu supposed to eat more than one sacred yam in one moon? Wouldn't the action have set him against his god who had assured him of fighting the batte as his own, while he was in Okperi?

Those yams marked the moon(months) in a year and for Ezeulu to eat them would amount to arrogating to himself the powers of a god, who decides what moon and time it was in a year(don't forget planting season and all revolve round this). Do you think Nwaka, Eze Idemili and other critics would have spared Ezulu if he had eaten more than one yam?

Though Achebe gave Ezeulu no chances, Ulu could be likened to the proverbial lizard that ruined his mother's funeral. Ulu was like the dog that wanted to answer two masters at the same time and broke his jaw in the process. Ulu gave Idemili and Ogwugwu the land and mat with which they buried it, because in trying to hurt its priest, it shot itself on the foot. It chose a bad time to punish its priest, for whatever infraction.

PoliticsRe: Amaechi: "How I Leaked Sanusi's Letter To Jonathan" by DIKEnaWAR: 8:41pm On May 05, 2016
I can understand Amaechi's dilemma. It is like that of the house boy whose master shifted the blame and responsibility of a mistress discovered in the house by the wife. He'll have so many things to tell oga's wife as to why he should not be punished, but cannot do it.

If it were Goodluck Jonathan now, he'd have rained insults on him and spoken like they were at war.

BTW, he just acknowledged that he leaked the letter, on the prompting of his masters. Why didn't Saraki or Sanusi choose to leak it by themselves? It is because they know they have a clown whose mouth is applied before his brain.
PoliticsRe: Why Do Nigerians And Blacks Behave Like Animals? by DIKEnaWAR:
We are not animals or lower beings. Two reasons are responsible for what you asked above.

1. Our 'punishment' system is very weak and so is the 'reward' too. We have good laws but we are to weak to punish those who disobey it. We also don't know how to reward those that obey the law. Infact, your status in a Nigerian society is determined by how easy you can disobey the laws- even in the face of law enforcement agents. That is called 'levels' here.

I was in traffic yesterday, waiting for the light to go green(with a host of other motorists), when two soldiers on a bike ran out from nowhere and entered the road. We almost experienced multiple accidents from the cars that sped across. They were threatening to slap and discipline motorists on their right of way for 'obstructing' them.

2. Lack of patriotism. Our leaders do not inspire patriotism and love for the country. From their deeds and misdeeds, they exhibit the highest level of unpatriotic act and citizens who are not enjoying anything from government will feel foolish to be patriotic.

Take the case of Buhari for example, who came to power on the mantra of change and frugality. He visited poverty on Nigerians, yet lives in obscene opulence; flies not less than 9 jets in the Presidential fleet and have all his kids abroad. His policies encourage spartan living on the populace but he lives like an Arab prince. How can such a man inspire patriotism?

Learn the use of words and stop being lobotomised by self-disrespecting and degrading customs and norms. She is Tiwa Savage and nothing else. Highest you can do is attach a Mrs(if she is still married) to her name.

Foreign AffairsRe: Donald Trump Wins Republican Nomination As Last Major Opponent Drops Out by DIKEnaWAR:
Who will love my country?...since all of you are now Americans by association.

Trump will never be President. We don't know who will, but we know who won't. A new President shall emerge in November and her first action shall be cementing America's relationship with Africa and third world countries, before taking on China and Russia. As soon as she enters office, those countries would know that the days of playing are over.

America needs a diplomat and a politician as President now; more than ever in their history. They have too many enemies and need friends, while stamping their resolve and flexing muscle here and there.

Trump won't only make America great, he'd ruin it. Trump is to America, what Buhari is to Nigeria: so much hot air and no plans on how to confront the myriad of problems facing their countries.

PoliticsRe: The Real Implications Of The Early May Salaries For Calabar Workers by DIKEnaWAR: 8:38am On May 02, 2016
That action was very silly and playing to the gallery. Gov. Ayade has not failed to live up to expectations as a clown and empty head.

Who pays a man for a work he has not done? What happens to the people for the rest of the month? Like the OP pointed out, these people are going to work for two months before getting their pay. A typical Nigerian spends his money as it comes; he hardly saves.

I wish them luck, especially those that are already squandering their pay.
