After the Nigeria-Liberia game, IK Uche has 19 goals from 40 games. IK Uche needs to shine in big tournaments starting from SA 2013 if he wants to take Yekini's crown. Too bad he missed AFCON 2010 and the World Cup, no thanks to injury. |
Chairman, Senate Committee on Education, Senator Uche Chukwumerije, PDP, Abia North, yesterday labelled Nigeria ''a failed nation''. Hear him: “It took only 21 years to transform Turkey from a feudal state to a highly modernised state today. South-East Asian countries took less than 30 years to move from ex-British colonies to what they are today, Asian Tigers, and are highly developed to the point that one of them, Malaysia, took our palm produce. “It took South Korea 18 years to move from 3rd dependent country to one of the third exporters and they have today developed to one of the top most and it took China exactly 48 years to move from a small status, being described by the West as the begging bone of Asia, to a super power. “With our 52 years as a country, a country who took palm produce from us some years back has grown into a prosperous country and turned that product into its main exporting product. “How would you describe us now importing it? I can only describe Nigeria as either a failed state or on the verge of being a failed one.” Culled from Vanguard |

FOR returning N6,000,000,00 overpayment to govt, Grade Level 10 officer received a National Award In early December 2011, Mohammad Zakari, of the Federal Ministry of Information, received an account credit alert on his mobile phone, which he thought would be for his November 2011 salary of N62,000.00. “When I received the alert, I became blind. I thought it was just N6,000. “I was wondering what I did wrong for my office to pay me a salary of N6000 until I showed a friend who told me it was N6,000,000 not N6,000. When Zakari confided in his mother, she told him to return the money. “The only thing you will do is to ask them to give you N1million to complete your building in the village,” his mother told him. He continued: “Same day, I got the alert, I told my wife, something entered into my account and she asked how much it was. “I told her it was N6 million and that may be that was how God wanted to bless me.” But she disagreed, telling her husband: “God does not bless people like that. If God wants to bless you, he will open opportunities for you to work so that money can come. Money will not just come from heaven to enter into your account.’ “My wife gave me the guts to return that money,” he told The Guardian. He also reported the overpayment to his superiors. But he has suffered reproach from his friends who told him: “You can never be rich…they sent that kind of money into your account and you returned it? “Some of them don’t talk to me anymore because of what I did.” For his honesty, however, Zakari was among the 155 Nigerians given National Honours as he was conferred with an Award of Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR). Zakari, a native of Garun-Mallam Local Council of Kano State, joined the Federal Civil Service as Information Officer II in 2000 and was posted to Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Abuja. After a stint at the National Film and Video Censors Board, is at present with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as a Senior Information officer in the Minister’s office. ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=99297:an-mfr-for-honest-mohammed-zakari-&catid=3:metro&Itemid=558 |
Some would say ''An EX should stay an EX. They’re the EXample of false love and an EXplanation for why you deserve better. But I would say ''Being friends with ur EX shows you two are mature enough to get over the fact that you weren't meant to be together.'' |
@K2039: you took the words right of my mouth @Chancit: you would be angry with your Father because you know he won't get any recognition for his Honourable act. |
Isn't it a shame - a very big shame- that Imeh Usuah, the Abuja-based Taxi Driver, who made headlines earlier this year when he returned Items worth 18 Million Naira that a passenger forgot in his Car, didn't make this years honours list? Mr. Usuah, a father of 6, could have made away with that money and be a 'big boy' now. Rather he returned it. What did he get in return? To the best of my knowledge, he got a paltry N30,000 from the National Orientation Agency. Wouldn't it have been wise to factor in such an 'ordinary' Nigerian while compiling that list that honours mainly Individuals that have milked our commonweatlth. We do not honour heroes. We do not set good precedence for others. What a disincentive for other Taxi drivers to tow the path of Imeh Usuah. I wrote this piece last November after the sham of an award last year http://ekekeee.com/irrational-dishonour-awards-by-dickson-u-kalu/ it is still relevant today. @DicksonKalu |
1. The man who discovered milk. I want to know what he was looking for in that part of the cow. 2. Cristiano Ronaldo. I want to know how he feels to have been unlucky to be born in Messi's generation. 3. IBB. I want to know how he manages to sleep despite the evil that he unleashed on this country. |

If I agree that this a poem, my education is a waste. If i don't agree that it is a poem, the writer would say i'm insensitive to the effort she put in. |
