Career / Contemplating Suicide? Frustrated In Your Job? READ THIS!!! by Dilianne(f): 1:20pm On Aug 12, 2018
Are you feeling sad? Angry? Frustrated? Depressed? There is a solution – contribution. Contribution is the one single determining factor that can lead to lasting happiness.

No one wants to come to the world and return without leaving an indelible mark on their generation, living like a fugitive in a land that was fought for us by our fathers, we do not want to make their sacrifices look cheap, we want to be the best version of ourselves as the envisioned us to be, long ago, before they even set their eyes on us.

We want to leave this world empty, not returning with any of our gifts or abilities, we want generations to come to know our names and thank us for the contribution we made.

When you are feeling sad or in a negative state of mind, it is simply because you are thinking about yourself, you have lost the main focus and you have made it about you, again.

When you align your vision with what will improve the community and the nation at large, you’ll find out that your own fulfilment comes when you make others happy and contribute something to their lives.

Be a contributor, be the man or the woman that the next generation would be able to look up to and say: you made me proud!

Career / 3 Ways to save more, if you want to be wealthy!!! by Dilianne(f): 11:45am On Aug 11, 2018
If you want to be able to get wealthy, you have to prevent leakages. Here are some tips to help you manage leakages.

Transportation: Most times we often calculate how much we are likely to spend on transportation to and from work. For example; if I spend 200 naira daily, then I would spend a total of 1,000 naira in a week, and 4,000 in a month.
When making these calculations, we often leave out weekends and miscellaneous expenses. The best way to calculate how much you spend approximately in a month on transportation is to write down your daily expenses on transportation and then calculate it at the end of the month.

Remember; don’t wave out any day of the month including Sundays. This helps you to know where your money goes. Try it out! Start today!

Call card/ credit:you would totally agree with me that this is one of the factors or medium through which money leaves your hand – unaccounted for!

I must warn you never to be tempted to keep withdrawing credit from your account; it is the best way to go broke. I’ll advice you to open a savings account specially for credit card withdrawal, there are banks that allow you to open an account where you can withdraw all your money without closing the account.

Open a credit withdrawal account and put a specific amount of money in it monthly, the amount you resolve to spend on calls monthly. With this, you would be able to track how much you spend on calls monthly. If the money finishes before the end of the month, you now know what is running you dry.

Send text messages when possible and resort to social media platforms, make good use of these platforms and only make calls when necessary. This might mean ‘well, i just called too hear your voice’ has to end, till you are rich enough to afford it.

Money for subscription: I read this post on social media recently: ‘you complain you don’t have money, but when data finish – You subscribe’. How true, subscribing is not a bad thing, especially in a digitalized world.

But subscribing without a budget in place can run your pockets dry, faster than any other thing. Most people love to be online at all times, and many people even have online businesses, therefore subscribing weekly, if not monthly is inevitable.

One of the ways to save money and budget for your subscription is to look for the cheapest, most affordable data plan and go for it, if you know any, you can do well to leave it in the comments below, (If you don’t know any, you can visit www.hillaconnect.com where you can get 1GB for as low as N570 ).

Another way is to curtail your data usage. If you can monitor how long you spend on applications like Instagram, twitter and YouTube, instead of just scrolling aimlessly, think of what you want to post or check out before hand.
You can also take advantage of data saving plans on your phones. There are phones that allow you to lock some applications that you are not using at the moment to prevent data from being used in the background.

You can equally use your credit card account to budget your subscription expenditures. When you have exhausted your monthly budget, you can take advantage of ‘social plan’ that allows you to access only your Whatsapp, and browse in some cases.
Online business owners can make use of mobile Wi-Fi networks.

In the end, discipline is what you’ll need to help you save money!

Career / Re: 9 Steps To Take Before Quitting Your Job!!! by Dilianne(f): 10:08am On Aug 11, 2018

Seems we are in same boat. I just resigned from a government hospital job that many crave for, a residency post for that matter. People think I am mad but you can only know how messed up Nigerian government hospitals are when you enter the system. I know the future is bright for me. I say no to mediocrity. Nigerian govt hospitals can only improve when our politicians and leaders start using them. For only then will they see the mess in it.

You're the real definition of Greatness! Lots of opportunities await you. I

Politics / An Open Letter To Mr. President! A Must Read!!! by Dilianne(f): 9:51am On Aug 11, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari said some months back that ‘Many Nigerian Youths though uneducated like free things based on the notion that Nigeria is an oil – rich nation’ (While speaking at the common wealth business forum in Westminster)

Mr. President, in your speech you noted that 60 percent of the population is below 30 years of age and a lot of them have not been to school, My question is; who was responsible for training them? Were they supposed to train themselves while growing up? I do not support youths being idle or dependent on the government, (well there is no government to depend on).

But if our parents (which happen to be in your generation) trained their children, then we would not have such alarming number of illiterates in our country.
The few people, who are able to go to school, graduate and can hardly find a good job to do. Before you talk about ‘unemployability’ let us look at the genesis of this problem.

Most of the people in civil service are old men and women that have refused to retire and they continually alter their ages every year. They say that the youths are the leaders of tomorrow, but they do not even give us a chance to learn on the job.

We have professors who taught us in school and yet they hardly have tangible sustainable innovations that can be reckoned with worldwide. The School curriculums are outdated and some of the lecturers are old and frail, yet they hardly give the opportunity for the younger generation to take over.

You pump a lot of money into the health sector, yet you go abroad for treatment, who are you deceiving? Let us not even talk about the money people in your ‘hardworking’ generation have looted from this country, money meant for social and economic development.

Before you talk about how we want free housing, ask your cabinet members how many houses they have gotten illegally, and I would love to know who owns those houses with ‘KEEP OFF – EFCC’ marked boldly with red.

You complain we want to depend solely on oil, when we were still babies when your generation left agriculture to focus on oil. You want the youths to be proactive and good, yet we do not even know the vision of this great country. Please Sir, What is the Nigerian Dream? Will you willingly step down for a younger person to lead? Who are the youths you are mentoring? Have you invested enough into the youths, before looking for a return on your investment?

Finally, you are fighting corruption, I am glad to inform you that it is your ‘hard-working’ generation that you are actually fighting. You have people to look up to as the fore- fathers of our country, people like Chief MKO Abiola (1973-1998), Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa (1912-1966), Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe (1904-1996), Sir Ahmadu Bello (1910-1996), Chief Obafemi Awolowo (1909-1987) and a host of others. I wonder who we would turn to when the time comes.

Thank you very much, Mr. President. Enjoy your stay in London!

Career / 9 Steps To Take Before Quitting Your Job!!! by Dilianne(f): 5:48pm On Aug 10, 2018
Many people dislike their current jobs and would do anything to quit, but their jobs gets the bills paid and keeps them afloat the poverty that tends to drag them into its misfortune.
Before you take the giant leap, here are some things you should do, or consider doing.

1. Stop thinking about what could go wrong
If you focus your attention on the negatives, you will inevitably attract them to your life, focus more on the positive side and think of all the great thing that await you as you take this giant step in your life.

2. Discover your passion
If you have not yet found something you are passionate about, this is an opportunity to look within; this would help you to determine the next direction you would go or the next step to take after quitting your job. If you don’t know quite yet what you’re obsessed about, just think of any activity you love or loved doing, then you can try it out, with time you’ll discover if you’re passionate about it.

3. Visualize what your future looks like
There is a great power in visualization, because, without seeing it with your mind’s eye, you would not be able to achieve it.

4. Find out what skills you need to acquire to become that person
When you know what you want to do next, it becomes easy to find out the skills you need to acquire, some you can acquire from your present job, others you have to learn. If it means paying for weekend classes now that you have a job, do it and you would get massive return on self investments.

5. Read books related to your passion
Reading books would propel you and set you on fire to achieve your vision. Like Warren Buffet said ‘The best investment a man can make is in his own self’. Read books related to your chosen field, and read consistently. Readers are truly Leaders.

6. Start living as though you no longer have a source of income
This would propel your creative mind and cause you to think outside the box.

7. Beware of opinions
Andrew Carnegie said ‘opinions are free, so beware of whose opinions you take’. Only talk to credible advisors, and not people that do not believe in you or have no idea what your life’s work is all about.

8. Take the bold step: Joyfully
Write down the date you intend to resign, if possible, type your letter beforehand, this would help you to avoid procrastination.

9. Leave a legacy behind
Now that you know you’ll soon be leaving, it is time to put in your best effort at work and aim to leave a great legacy behind.

To achieve this maximally, you can check out Olakunle Soriyan’s ‘Top life Top work’ series. This is guaranteed to change your work life.

Fashion / Everything You Need To Know About Starting A Clothing Line With Low Funds by Dilianne(f): 3:56am On Aug 09, 2018
This interview is probably the best you'll ever read about starting a clothing line with little or no funds!

It's short precise and workable. It also touches every area and kick starts you on your journey to greatness in the fashion industry.

Everyday Greatness with Dilianne; Featuring the CEO of E2N clothiers.

DA: What you finally decided to startup, what was the first step you took?

Anietie: First off, the key to starting anything/business is first learning. I didn't just jump into the whole idea of being a CEO or owning a clothing line. I had months of working under/with people who had their own businesses standing/working. Learning from them, learning how to source for fabrics, where you consider fabric color, texture, and purpose.
I had to learn about time management, dealing with different types of clients, how to get clients, how to get materials even down to button selection.
All these were done even before I decided to unveil my logo and name of business and eventually started registration of the company under the corporate affairs commission.

DA: How much did you startup with and how were you able to raise funds?

Anietie: How much Started with basically nothing! The thing is at the beginning, I decided to start making wears for myself. So I was my Model, my bill board, my advert and my marketer.
I will usually let the client know the cost of production, add cost of transportation and that's it. Initially I wasn't adding anything for profit. I just wanted to create a client base and awareness.
Raising funds were from my pocket money which was barely enough to feed me and buy my materials for projects (I was an Architecture student so you may have an idea of how often we had to buy instruments and print for projects).

Politics / From Public Service At Age 6 To Presidential Aspirant: Hon. Samuel Mbonu by Dilianne(f): 7:30pm On Aug 08, 2018
Honourable Samuel Mbonu was recently interviewed on Everyday Greatness with Dilianne. He shared his passion and aspirations to become the next president of Nigeria and also left a great piece of advice for the youths.

DA: Was there any incident of note in your early years that fueled your passion for politics?

Hon. Mbonu: My earliest memory of public service is from between the ages of 6-8, when I assisted my father in distributing relief materials to starving families. In fact, I remember one incident when the Relief Center officially ran out of food, and I had to poach food from my mothers own kitchen, to give to a starving family (shh....my family probably didn't know about this..lol).

From that point I was drawn to studying Biographies of famous leaders from around the world. Between the ages of 10 and 12, I had read about 20 Biographies of famous leaders in Africa, and beyond. The fallout with reading so much at a young age was that I developed superior communications skills by default, which has served me well to this day.

To keep a long story short, I was very popular in high school, but became more intensely aware of my leadership traits when I ended up in Washington DC for university education. In Washington I became a popular student leader and was elected a "Senator" to represent students with the Governing Board of the University of the District of Columbia, becoming the first foreign-born student to be elected to that role..
By the time I finished Law School in Washington, I had established so many relationships in the political arena, that my core competences as a bridge-builder among diverse persons became quite evident. I was ultimately appointed a "Commissioner, for Housing & Community Development" in Prince George's Maryland, a suburb of Washington, DC, in the US, also becoming the first African-born to be appointed to such a sensitive policy-making role, in that public service arena.

At the end of my term as Commissioner, I built a Real Estate & Escrow Investment firm in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Shortly after that, I returned to the public arena to co-found the "Nigeria-American Council", which became at one time, one of the most influential think-tanks, providing policy guidance to US institutions on Nigeria & Sub-Saharan Africa. In running the Council as Executive Director, I developed expertise in policy matters and became a resource to powerful institutions in the US.

Based on my unique experiences and training, many have determined that I am the most uniquely qualified candidate to bring peace to Nigeria, set Nigeria on a path of growth by ridding the nation of incessant strife, diversifying the economy away from oil, and harnessing the youth talent, to power the country into a 21st Century global powerhouse.

I am probably the first presidential candidate not to be branded ethnically, because the whole country is my constituency, from Sokoto to Calabar. I will restore a fair playing ground to "all" Nigerians and not to a clan.
I have a unique and hybrid governance experience, on a practical level. My main expertise was gained while serving as "Commissioner for Housing & Community Development", but I have also explored Nigeria from the outside and from the inside. The other candidates in comparison don't have this peculiar experience, whether they're young or old pale. Nigerians will not want to go anywhere else, after my first term in office.
