fellis:
Firstly both of them made a mistake by having sex without protection yet the woman is the one that should fix the situation by changing herself to please Mr. Oga na master. Not both of them oo, but only the woman. Fixing the problem is her sole responsibility even though husband is the head of the house.
Secondly the man is supposed to be older than her and more sensible but she should be the mature one and start researching the husbands likes and dislikes to make him happy, she should be the mature one. Even though he is almost old enough to father her.
Thirdly, the child she conceived before being forced to marry him is the man's child, technically. Not even the woman's. The child bears his name. Yet he is the angry one because he married a girl when he wasn't ready to marry.
What about her? Didn't she also say she was not in a hurry to get married to him?
How will men ever feel the need to take responsibility for their actions and stop thinking they must blame their wives for everything when women themselves believe that they are the ones that must solve every problem in the marriage? That's how they will cheat tomorrow and come here claiming that their wives are at fault because they got old and fat after childbirth and the same wives should be the ones to solve the problem by fasting and praying for them to stop being unfaithful.
This is why some of you will never have peace in your marriage, always thinking like kids.
The man was forced to marry her,it was not the other way round. You are just too combative.SMH

I thought they said animals are supposed to be in the zoo? Who opened their cage to come here and eulogise the bowler hat wearing Otuoke dunce?
I can see some naira land dunces here competing seriously to take over from their brother dunce, the Otuoke clueless dullard who destroyed his country's economy.
If Buhari has not stepped in decisively when he did you would not be able to be on naira land as all the networks would have been down due to lack of fuel as a result of the terrible mess your I jaw brother created in the petroleum downstream sector few days to his exit.
Barcanista, apart from femi fani-kayode who else do you ape?

op! thank you for this post.
I felt a bit disgusted when I saw all manner of false information about the action of the forces.
God Bless!
The false information is usually spread by a few disgruntled Niger deltans and a hand full of my misguided brothers from the east. Hating for no reason. They seem to forget that a real peoples president like Buhari can multitask easily, very ,such unlike the bowler hat wearing dunce they hoisted on Nigeria for almost six painful and extremely excruciating years.

Before the British came, the Benin, Oyo(Yoruba) and the north had well established kingdoms, what did the Igbo man have? When the British came they found the leadership system in the north so perfect that they prefer to administer the northern region through their already well established leadership institutions. Down south they met chaos mostly. They now have to administer the south directly because the institutions of leadership in the south were not well established and effective.
A lot of people ask why the British always seemed to favor the north. The reason is simple. The British developed so much respect for the north because of its well established and highly effective leadership institutions which are still effective till today.
Down East we say 'Igbo enwe Eze' meaning Igbo nation has no king. How would you have worked with those kind of people if you were the British?

Blame that mad man in the US for some of their foolishness. Those chanting 'war' don't know what a fire strafing feels like. I used to have a neighbour who fought on the rebel side during the war. He regularly regaled us with horror stories from the war. I recall during the 2001 Ikeja cantonement bomblast, before we knew what was even happening, the man had quickly gathered his family together in preparation to run to Cameroun because he said would never allow his family experience what he experienced during the civil war.

Those chanting 'war' are just parroting the filth being spewed by a man who under a sane government, should have long been arrested and jailed for high treason.

But this is Nigeria. We wait until damage has been caused before acting.
Our peoples optimism is totally baseless.
Look at Abia state, see how a supposed Biafran governor T.A Orji ran the place like a concentration camp.
Some of our people fail to learn from history.

Much as I generally agree with the the OP, I have a few reservations.
Suggesting that we learn to live in Nigeria is not it. On the contrary, Nigeria should learn to accept the Igbos into the Nigerian fold. Since the civil war, we've been more or less treated as outcasts in our supposed country. Despite the Reconciliation, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction mantra, no much has been done in the south east. How many states do the Igbo have as against what others have? Federal presence is virtually non existent in the east. The so-called International airport in Enugu is an obvious joke. Any move to build a sea port in the east is crushed. 2nd Niger bridge nko? There have been a deliberate and studied plan to undermine the south east. U can't keep treating me like a slave and expect me to be happy. Let to me, I would advocate REGIONALISM. Make all man develop at their pace.
Again, if we wanted to spit Nigeria, inter-tribal marriages wouldn't have stopped it. Who says you must be in the same country with your inlaws? I have friends with inlaws in Germany, south africa etc.
Nigeria better get her act right. The polity is gradaully boiling.
Good posers you raised there but my question remains. When a supposed Biafran Goodluck Jonathan was there what do he do about the international airport and second Niger bridge inspite of massive Igbo support? That's right, he only paid lip service to it and yet some of our clownish brothers here are shouting south south is with us!

What if this is subjected to a referendum rather than making assumptions. Even if Abia was badly ruled, how does that justify the continued existence of one Nigeria where millions are presently in displaced camp, millions are on the verge of starvation as a result of unpaid salary in unviable states, the infrastructure are comatose and in dilapidated state.
The only area I disagree with you is that of a referendum is taken 80% of our people will vote to remain in Nigeria. People can make noise all they want in Nairaland but when the shit becomes real, they become more sober.

Dude, feel free to conduct a poll on Nairaland and you will realize I'm 100% right. What I'm telling you is that Nigerians will gladly support the secession of a Biafra that consist of the 5 SE states. So let's stop the silly narrative that Nigerians do not want Biafra to secede.
The only time there will be issues is if Biafra wants to forcefully take the oil producing states. The Ijaws, Itsekiri, Ibibios no go gree.. That's the bottom line..
You made some good points. Our people still fail to understand that when the chips are down, they will fight alone. The south south people will intelligently negotiate our people away to advance their interests and build consensus across other tribes. Why is it that you cannot feel the same vibe of Biafra in south south states? The average NigerDeltan prefers to do their own struggle inside a united Nigeria. Apart from that clown Asari, you will never hear a Nigerdeltan talk of secession. Our people have a lot to learn!

A nation only grows faster when people with similar goals and culture inhabit it an igbo has nothing in common with a yoruba or hausa. The best thing for nigeria is to split it was a creation of the British and is not benefitting anyone.
We are more educated and well exposed than in 1914 when the amalgamation happened. So you have never heard about unity in diversity? The British left since the sixties and we are still going strong as a united nation. The most important lesson is understanding our differences and doing everything within our power to minimize it.
And do you think even if we split along ethnic lines, the Igbo man from Anambra will not love to lord it over and above his brother from Ebony I and vice versa. Or the Yoruba man from Osun will not like to overtake the man from Ogun?
It is about individuals!
Following your argument why should an Igbo man marrry a Yoruba Lady, then? Do they have similar cultures? Or why should an idoma lady marry a Fulani man?
It is very simple! Know your differences and minimize it. Each tribe and ethnic group in Nigeria has something positive to contribute if given the chance.

I feel a deep sense of grief and bewilderment when I read a lot of misguided comments from my Igbo brothers with some calling for a violent secession from Nigeria. Most of the generation of people making these statement never witnessed the civil war. They did not see first hand the horrors of war. They did not experience the terrific impact of bombs or the loud ear splitting sounds of heavy artillery shells as the explode. Should I talk about the economic impact? How our people were reduced to paupers and had to start from the scratch. How beautiful daughters were forcefully torn from the warm embrace of their families and married off to leprous men in the North just to spite our people. Only a mentally deranged and prone to self destruction individual will ever in his life support a violent secession from Nigeria.

Our problem is not secession. Our problem is learning how to live with other tribes in harmony while doing our businesses. Our focus should be on how to build consensus across the nation for vital political interests.

I laugh heartliy when I see some misguided Niger Delta youths like barcanista and co trying to be clever by half by playing to our sense of entitlement. Speaking from both sides of the mouth about how our people are being pushed aside and marginalized.
Yet these are the same people that effectively sabotaged the Biafran struggle under Ojukwu. These are the same people that lead the enemy in through our backyards and betrayed their so called brothers. Now they have started a new song because their brother Jonathan who performed woefully was booted out by majority of Nigerians.

I want us to know sometime that is historical. The moment an attempt is made to secede, the I jaws will immediately turn their backs and negotiate us away to advance their interests. So we will end up alone fighting the whole of Nigeria and loosing again.

When the chips are down, we are always alone.

Another point to consider is that Nigeria has become too intergrated to break up. Almost every family has in laws across their tribe. How will that be handled?

Igbo are the most integrated people in Nigeria with business interests across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria. Most of our people will become jobless or stay and be killed the moment a secession is declared.

Those who knew the truth will tell you that even inside Biafra there were still serious cases of tribalism and nepotism, even under the revered Ojukwu. That was why ahiara declaration became necessary to tackle these issues.

Finally, we are not ready militarily and would only be engaging in another massive waste of life if we insist on our ways.
So my people do not be deceived! Our best and only bet is to remain as law abiding citizens of Nigeria while doing our best to continue to be relevant in the scheme of things.
Ka Chineke mezie okwu.
