He is not bound by any law to discuss marriage. He has not even engaged her and that is a kind of pointer that he doesn't want to be rushed. I respect such men not all these men that will start talking marriage the moment they see you all in a bid to get into your pants. The moment that happens, they bolt! So be careful before you chase this guy out of your life by impatience! I reapeat tactfully maneuver him and introduce him to your family members as your guy. Keep quiet and watch his reactions. Then go along with him to all your wedding events. The idea is to pass the message without talking. Manipulation is far much better when it is not obvious. If she ask him directly, she risks losing a good relationship. I am a man and I understand these things. |

sukkot: thats a good spin you put on the story but you left out the part where he said the woman is very generous with her money to him. listen i have had girlfirends like that. they see money as come easy go easy. they spend recklessly and are very generous with their money to their partners. they are as reckless as they are generous. its their personality. if she spent all his money and was stingy with hers then you have a strong point but that is not the case here. but you put a different spin to the story. gotta give you that No the wife LENDS him her money when she has finished spending his own. So he now owes her and will have to pay! Now which good wife does that? |

Unfortunately many of us have totally missed it here. There are two wicked people in this story and the man is not one of them! The man is a VICTIM of his wife's poor and insensitive treatment . I feel like crying everyday when I see or read about men who out of desperation now have to look outside for succor in their marriages. The wife is a very terrible woman who drives the husband to financial recklessnes and inspite of that still do not provide the needed warmth for him to enjoy the marriage.
The other wicked person is his lady colleague who is unduly taking advantage of the guys poor emotional state.
I will advice that he separates from both women for sometime to evaluate his options properly. Now he is in a very weak emotional state. |

Woged2005: Some Nigerian women abroad are practical disgrace to our country and to motherhood. I was in a mall few hours ago watching a very shameful display of public disgrace by a Nigerian woman (in her late 30s or so) arguing with her husband right in the line at the register..screaming and calling him unprintable degrading names. The woman obviously looks like she is the bread-winner (but I don't know) I wished I didn't greet them earlier so people wouldn't know we came from the same county. I must say the man is a cultured gentleman who stopped talking once his wife's voice went up. He even left the line and walked back and the lady kept screaming and calling her husband names, narrating to thin air things people don't need to know... and at some point screamed "..you will force me to divorce your azzzz..." wo! wo!! wo!! The most appalling is that their little kids are their watching. Can't this type of argument wait till you get home? I walked away in shame.
Please my sistas we are not the only ones that came to America and met 'Freedom' and 'rights' but the way some of us misuse it is shocking. Indians, and Chinese saw the same freedom too but use it to build 'empires'. Let's start showing some family values. You men, please be careful the type of women you marry and bring abroad. All this una one month Facebook friendship and arrangee hookup without proper dating and courtship is your undoing. Look beyond physical looks and appearances.
Hi-Fives tor all those naija sistas out there doing us proud, and representing good family values we are known for. God bless ya sistas!!! The man should do the needful and offload the beast immediately! That is why I think the anti-men laws in those countries need to be reviewed. If the tide was turned and it was the man shouting on her you will see all manners of reactions pouring in. All manner of fat squaty ugly women will enter the fracas to explain to the man that he is not a real man for shouting on a woman! That man is living on a suspended divorce sentence. He should act fast and divorce that trash before his life gets messed up. Men are indeed suffering. Evil women everywhere. |

Lesbians everywhere! I have said it several times The fact that a woman is married does not mean that she is not a Lesbian. The number of lesbians in Nigeria is alarming. Now she touches women's boobs and butts anyhow but if Na man they do am we go hear say I'm be rapist ! Anyway madam the first step to recovery is to completely open up to your husband about the evil beast that have been defiling you with her forbidden lusts for several years. Then look for a strong Man of God and go for very serious deliverance. A lot has happened in your life spiritually and physically. You have become addicted to Lesbianism and it is going to need the love and understanding of a close person like your husband to help you beat that addiction. |

Dygeasy: CONTESTANT NO. 18
TOMFRENCH
Tomfrench hails from Awgu Local Government of Enugu State and he's in his early twenties. He's a student of the University of Nigeria Nsukka,(UNN) Department of Electronics Engineering 4. Who's Tomfrench's role model?
"As a successful man carved from scratch, I'll say my dad, without mincing words! Because i'm his investment( a veritable one). I remember when i toured the path of disobedience, wanting exploration. I met with strong, skin deep disappointment, shattered. He "picked" me up, refined me and gave me back my footing. Here i am today again pursuing a successful academic career. A lucrative one at that. "Oh mehn!!" i've got to give it up for him, he's the BEST!"
At the mention of 'rice and stew akwu' with a VERY soft goatmeat, Tomfrench promised to trek from Enugu to Abuja.
He enjoys taking an evening stroll after a hectic day at study or work....Solving maths...and travelling"
"Well, what makes me different,is what makes me 'ME' that's my 'essence'. I never shy away from responsibilities, even when I have the power to dictate, i still prefer to serve, because that's where the silent power of leadership lies."
A close relative or friend would describe him as quite Industrious, a silent achiever, and Humorous...
Why do you deserve to be crowned Mr Nairaland?
"I must say, every active member here, on Nairaland, deserve this crown, because our individual differences are the colours, that make Nairaland such an attractive African E-Paradise. Still on the matter, why i think i deserve this crown is because, i have a clean public image, and with that, i've got no option than to live by example."
Vote Tomfrench as the next Mr. Nairaland.

TOMFRENCH'S QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. If you won a lottery running into millions of Naira, what would you do with it?
well, since the exact amount was not stated, I guess as a student, i will invest about 50% of the money, to yield interest at a time, when I will be needing it more, then 20% goes to me for my upkeep and maintenance ,10% goes to very brilliant students that are finding it hard to pay their tuition fees, and then again, 20% goes to the less privilege and the orphanage..
2. Who is the most influential person in your life, and why?
I'm deeply influenced by Bill Gates, the best renowned entrepreneur of computer revolution. His story has motivated me to reach the zenith in my career path as an electronic engineer. What beats me most is the fact that at a young age, he built a software program called Microsoft which we are all benefitting from. Also, I love his selfless philanthropic nature, always donating to charity and scientific research. A true outstanding leader, I see him as my role model and I aim at achieving greater heights following in his footsteps.
3. If you are given the chance to change something about the following, what would it be?
*Your Body I'm wonderfully made by God, so i see no reason why i should change a thing in my body.
*Your Past I still won't change a thing in my past, because the mistake and the corrections are still what has really moulded me, into the man I am today
*Your Present I'll pause the time and flex a little bit, but since that's only possible in my dreams, i guess, i have to keeping moving, with the clock then..
4.What is your take on the Biafran secessionist movement? How does this impact on the dream of one Nigeria?
I must say, this is a very sensitive question,
Well, So long the dream of One Nigeria is concerned, the impact of the Biafran secessionist movement, wouldn't be anything more or less than Negative. But, As far as archiving that dream of one Nigeria, keeps getting less attainable, as the year go by, then, the Impact of the Biafran secessionist movement, wouldn't be anything more or less than Positive as well.
5. How would you describe your own personality?
I'm simply, a silent archiver, reserved and humorous..
6. Who is the sexiest woman you have seen here on NL and what is unique about her?
The from my little observation, the sexiest woman i've seen on NairaLand is none other than kachisbarbie. No disrespect to the other sexy females on NL but she's the one that catches my fancy the most. She is a very beautiful lady and really sexy
But what really attracts me to her is her intelligence and manner of approach to people. She's really nice in her approach to people and she knows how to tackle situations brilliantly. I know she's married,,but I can't help getting attracted to her
7. What sacrifices have you made for this contest?
One sacrifice i made for this contest, was my time commitment, but, i don't regret it, because its for a good course..
8. In not more than 100 words, convince the audience that you deserve the Mr NL 2015 title.
Still standing on what i said earlier on, every active member here, on Nairaland, deserve this crown, because our individual differences are the colours, that make Nairaland such an attractive African E-Paradise. Still on the matter, why i think i deserve this crown is because, i have a clean public image, and with that, i've got no option than to live by example. Thanks. Guys and Ladies pls vote Tom French. That guy is the real deal. Just Listen to his voice vote and you will become a believer. Hear him talk about who a real man is and make up your mind. Proudly team Tom French! . Let's go there! |

edwife: This is a great idea but problem is what if he is the type that won't go to family gatherings with you. Yea men like taking the lead but don't you think if you are in a relationship with a mature lady and after dating for 3 years, you never discuss any future plan with her,it's kinda gross?
Don't get me wrong here, but we live in a society whereby a "25" years old woman should be able to at least be in a promising relationship that might lead soon or later to marriage. To most men, hearing your lady talk about marriage plans sets off an alarm! Like this girl is desperate. I tell you it is not sexy at all. It cheapens the girl. |

Getting married is not necessarily a sign of love! Let me repeat for emphasis, marriage as it is today does not necessarily mean that the man loves you. Again, do not ask him about his marital plans for you. Most men will bolt after that. We like always to take the lead but then women are smart too. I have a couple of moves I believe if you make you might be able to ascertain his mind towards marriage. Introduce him to your family instead! But not as your fiancé, rather as the only man in your life. Your family might seek clarification just keep silent and watch him answer them. His answers will give you a clue. Secondly, as often as is possible attend all the wedding events you have with him BUT never directly ask him his plans. Give it a little time and your guy will open up. Good luck! |

Verbal abuse is worse by far than physical abuse. In most cases it is the trigger for physical abuse. Hurtful words are more easily retained in the mind than physical packaging. Effects of verbal abuse include but are not limited to sudden heart attacks, emotional breakdown,High blood pressure etc. Now tell me if some of these are not life threatning. |

Ishilove: You're wrong sir. Telling a woman she has a rotten puccy is very very insulting. You're a man so you cannot possibly understand the import. What makes it worse is when one's innocent mother somewhere is being dragged into e-wars.
That is not the issue, anyway. Joy baited dinachi with the puccy word, dinachi respond with rotten puccy, I warned the both of them to desist from playing with puccy etc
Please I'm done with this back and forth. It's too early. What of words that insult the dick ? Or as usual it is only females that get insulted? Men don't If you want to address an issue do so holistically. Of course you will be done with the back and forth because a woman is involved! |

Family › Re: My Wife Accuses Me Wrongly by dinachi(m): 8:00am On Jun 26, 2015 |
Ishilove: I have not liked your response on several issues, but that is not the issue here. The issue here is that the contenders don't report and the mods act on the reports that they are given.
I don't follow this section, so how I have suddenly become 'knowledgable' of 'my ladies' baiting is a puzzle unto me.
Mr 5minsmadness, next time use the fucking report button to report baiting and deliberate provocation. I am not omnipresent so I sure as heck cannot possibly know that 'this monicker' has being baiting dinachi. Now that you know what do you do? Well I wasn't expecting any better so I am not surprised! Like I said many people in this our world are very pretentious. I don't care whether I get hefty bans or not but If any blasted female here as much as try to insinuate any nonsense I will blast her to high heavens. The heavens wonts fall! The partial pro women mod can go ahead and do her worst. I no longer give a hoot. |
Family › Re: My Wife Accuses Me Wrongly by dinachi(m): 12:57am On Jun 26, 2015 |
5minsmadness: Chronologically,
The above was the first snide remark. Dinachi let it go with a warning.
This second person criticised dinachi's response albeit constructively. Not only did dinachi give a gracious reply, he acknowledged the harshness of his post.
The third post by Joy1756 was hidden before I could copy it in which she insulted dinachi. He responded in kind but got warned by Kimoni and he responded genially.
He didn't even write his trademark "rotten whatchamacallit" in his original post.
Suddenly you appear and threaten him with a ban.
Not a single warning to the other parties.
Looks like a case of gender bullying to me. I could be wrong though.
Still watching ma. @ishilove Thanks once again for stating what is glaringly obvious but unfortunately has not attracted even a mild rebuke from @ishilove This goes again to show the glaring hypocrisy inherent in this family section. Some of the ladies here carry the attitude home and when their husband descend on them they come here with their stories that touch. |

snakebeat: How I wish all men were like this guy! The world would have been a better place. Women love lies & pretence, but they despice honesty.
Often times I see women agitating against physical abuse, without any vestige of attempt to decry verbal abuse, they are quick to chide a man for domestic violence, without reprimanding the woman. Women also are perpetrators of domestic violence, just that they are in the minority. Physical abuse are fallouts of verbal abuse, if verbal abuse leads to physical abuse, why not address issues from its source. Why should a man always be the one to walk away? Why should a man always be the one to condone her foul mouth? If women wants a man to ignore a woman's invectives, the woman should feel disposed to ignore the man's slap as well.
My brother pls don't be influence by their sentimental & bias sermons. The truth is bitter, not until women gives domestic violence a holistic approach, from verbal to physical, then they ain't ready to deal with it. Eradicating domestic violence requires collective efforts, emphasis shouldn't be laid solely on physical abuse, verbal abuse should also form an integral part of it.. Great words! |
