I was broken because we do hang out and at that moment I thought I was just some black kid. Then I told him to his face that he's a racist. That's all. Dude punched me.
Hahahahaaa all these while I thought you don go urinate for somebody’s apartment and you were caught and punched. So this is the crust of the whole gist

Nah, English exists as a common lingua franca to hopefully help us communicate clearly. That way the chances of ‘misreading’ a situation becomes quite slim. There is NO way I could have surmised from and I quote:

‘My Team and I are watching’ #Justsaying’ in response to a perfectly normal post that it was meant to be anything positive.

This thread exists to educate, inform, encourage (I hope), if you want to do so, do so. If anyone sends out wrong information and you know better, state it clearly so we can all learn. The poster missed a golden opportunity to educate us on aspects of food import that we may have benefited from. Telling us you are ‘Watching’ is supposed to help me how please?

Furthermore, if myself or anyone else who responded misunderstood the poster, there was AMPLE opportunity to clear it up quickly yesterday. But no.

I’ve sha promised someone I respect to drop the matter so I’m dropping it. Apologies accepted if the poster truly didn’t mean it. Cheers.
Ma i think you missed the two letters after ‘watching’
Anyways I will brush up on constructing my statements next time when posting or replying.
Thank you Ma. Am so happy my apologies was accepted oo

When I read his initial post, I didn't think it had any malice or intent to pull down her business. I didn't also think he accused her of illegal dealings. What I understood was him giving insider information that we should all be careful when importing things as the government is planning to scrutinise it more. That is what I understood.
Another one. Thank you!!

Finally someone here get me. Phew!!

The same Mamatukwas, i have never said anything or post anything when she sort her BDC things instead I have advise few on Nairaland to do transactions with her as she is legit.
Instead all I got is all the unnecessary gbas gbos while I was trying to subtly pass my message on.
Anyways it worked as someone earlier posted a link that can help anyone bringing in food for personal use. Which I hope will help us just as the TV license info helped.

Oga or madam you are part of the problem we talked about recently. "pull down syndrome ". That is why Nigerians cannot collectively rise and be great together. You only been in UK barely 5 mins you are here forming Olokpa of Nairaland.

Aunty Priti Patel quietly signed a deal with India and Britain to agrees to accept more students and talented young immigrants into Uk in exchange for increased deportations ..... imagine this nonsense. Why is India special, most people if they catch you here illegally they deport you straight. Why does Indian have to have this special agreement. You can be sure the first part of taking in thousands will happen and the later part will be radio silence. But its their quiet way of raising their people

Secondly they quietly added occupation chefs in visa categories so that once they graduate and no job. They can quietly package themselves with visa for 5 years as a chef in an Indian restaurant. At least after 5 years it ILR for them that way they get to stay here.

Left right they are quietly putting policies to favour them and their strength will become in their numbers. Sadiq Khan it going to be hard to unseat him even as he doing rubbish here.... because of numbers of voters .

These are few examples...instead what do we have here. Mamatukwas minding her lane, never posted anything illegal apart from making me salivate with her mention of fish, egusi but you are forming officer of Nairaland

Welldone and continue watching .....
To be honest I don’t know what you are talking about, but thanks for the essay.
Maybe I need to make myself clear. The original reply to mamatukwas post was “Me and my team dey watch you ooo” which was written playfully with no bad intentions. My aim is to pass the message that this forum doesn’t have a face as we don’t know who is reading and monitoring what we put on here.
These gbas gbos is not necessary walahi.

Commercially, Most carriers won’t carry even 1kg of it. You need a license to do so and very few people have it. In your personal luggage this might not apply (re:guidance)

However, (slides closer and whispers): You must be very careful. There are people close by with ‘teams’ watching our every move. And horror of all horrors their office seems to be 4 levels above M16. Even Scotland Yard is afraid of them (looks around furtively)….. If you’re not careful, they might come with badges and haul your ass in for attempting to smuggle in ‘dry fish’ (shudders). For them, the sin is not much different from bringing in cocaine through the borders. So please, watch your back, lock your doors, make sure you eat all your fish, don’t leave any traces. May heaven safe us (sprinkles holy water).

Good morning.

Shipping Naija food to the UK is tricky. Regular garri, poundo, Egusi etc no issues. Other items like Fish/fish related items, meat and beans are considered contraband. Yam and Oil are they ‘that must not be named’ grin. Contraband items can be sent via a special DHL license we have but it’s not cheap.

If you’re in Scotland, depending on your location I can tell you where to get Naija food in Glasgow. Otherwise order from Wosiwosi. They dey try. If you insist on fresh fish from your village in bayelsa, then I’ve got you but be ready to pay wink

Hi all! I am about to submit my application for first extension and we have just two documents in joint names. How many documents do we have to give in single names to make up the required documents?

Also do I have to scan all the pages of mine and my partners passport?
Thank you!
Submit as much as you can but make sure they are spread between the 2 years you arrived.
We only had just a single document in joint names (bank account).
I did scan all the pages of my passport but only scan the bio data page of my spouse passport. I hope this helps

Hello everyone,

I need help with my situation and I would really like assistance on how to go about this.

My Passport expires tomorrow and my visa expires June. A new visa application is required to be tendered for leave to remain.

My questions are;
1. Will I be allowed to apply with an expired Passport for the visa extension?
2. Will I be required to attend biometrics with an expired passport (given the backlog situation at the Nigerian embassy)?
3. Hypothetically if I were to get an appointment at the Nigerian embassy prior to attending biometrics and they collect my old Passport, how can I attend the biometrics session without a new passport or what are my options here please?

Anyone with experience care to help out please?

Lastly @Divine88 how did you convince your new employer to take you on in the middle of your visa application processing?

I look forward to your responses.
You don’t need to convince anyone. Apply for the job, if you are successful, submit your immigration details.
If you’ve made your application already to the home office, you should have a unique ID. Forward the ID to the HR. All they need to do is do a verification check using the link here

Hi house, hopefully everyone has been safe all through the pandemic. I'd like to find out if this is happened to someone else or it's 1 of them random situation. Basically, BRP expired 27/12/20 and did renew before then. Attended biometric capturing appt on the 22/01/21. Paid £134 for that. Then sometimes in Feb i get an email from home office that normally they strive to make decisions on applications within 8wks but mine will take longer than that as my status has automatically being extended. And till date it's been radio silence from them, which is starting to get me worried as to why it's taking to long or perhaps if something is wrong with my application. Please is anyone here having the same issue or got the same email. Thanks

Now, this is the danger. It is terrorism they are using today - and we all agree that terrorism is a heinous and abominable crime - but it could be applied to any crime tomorrow or in 50 years. Imagine the government removing your grandchildren and repatriating them to Nigeria (which they possibly never lived or even visited) on some trumped up charges, simply because their grandparents’ roots can be traced to Nigeria. Yes, it is a possibility. Anything is possible in an unjust society, and what happened to the Jews in Hitler’s Germany started as a noble cause. Then it went on and on until it was used to target a specific set of people, and the rest is history.

No one is holding court for the girl. No one here is in support of terrorism. We are only looking beyond the thin veil of this litmus test case, and expressing our concern for the dangers it portends for the future of our children, and their children after them, just because their forebears were recent immigrants. The only reason the government was able to take Shamima’s citizenship away was because her parents were immigrants. Maybe not racism, maybe not islamaphobia, but it certainly has discrimination written all over it, whatever name you choose to call it. And that should concern you, because of its potential future implications.

Hope this helps?
Well said! I think it’s better to rest this story. May God help us all.

All these gbas gbos everywhere.
My own sha is a wrong precedent has been laid down here. Hopefully it doesn’t come back to bite in the future. Like someone said earlier let’s focus on making the money.
NB: 1. I don’t condone the girl’s actions. 2. Am not playing any yeye race card.

This got nothing to do with being 1st, 2nd or 3rd class citizen, some are just playing race card here which is embarrassing . How about Jack Letts? He was born in this country to a Canadian father and a British mother all as white as snow, he was also stripped of his British citizenship and his parents jailed for supporting him while he was fighting with ISIS. So is that also racist?
Mr Justwise these are two different cases. Jack has a dual citizenship (Canadian & British). Have the Britons stripped him of their citizenship? Yes according to the dailies. Have the Canadian done the same? No.
But this girl in question, only had the privilege of having a single citizenship.
Anyways I have said it several times on here. What will be will be!

I think we need to stop pulling the race card at every stop. What this girl did is sacrilegious and a crime to humanity. We need to start teaching our kids from early age that every action comes with consequences.
Haba! No one is pulling a race card here. I said earlier I don’t condone what she did.
But my point is the interpretations to judgement and or laws can set out an unprecedented cases whereby the law can be meted out or carried out because it has been implemented before. Either for a good cause or for bad.
I TBh please ignore my chitty chatty argument.

Hahahahaaa I wasn’t even referring to any horrendous act.
My question is what happens if history repeats itself similar to what happened in Germany prior to the war and during the war when a political party headed by one of the wicked man in history decided to deport a particular nationals out of Germany and Eastern Europe.
Like i said this argument shouldn’t stay as this might set an unprecedented scenario whereby we might all be asked to forfeit our British passport one day just because our ancestors are not from here and move back to our country of origin.

What she did is not excusable but you cannot pass someone to another country...... what if she was pure white British. What country would they have passed her to. She never owned a second passport so how ideally should not be stateless
Am not showing any sympathy for her case. But like Lagosismyhome asked: what if she was pure white British? Will the government pass her on to another country?
This case has set unprecedented scenario that can happen in the future.
Imagine a new government comes into power and they declare everyone who is considered a second class British citizen (either by birth or acquired) should leave the country? This can surely happen. Let’s us be factual please.

As this is a new application and your first in this country. You will need to apply by post. Why? Because you will need a passport photograph and also someone to sign that they know you (a guarantor)
You can only apply online if you are renewing or upgrading to a full license.
