Please I am still waiting for my response concerning my case. I really need clarification on way forward.

Thanks

Cc. Justwise
I had similar kind of situation in 2006. It was a dependant visa back then. I was to join my family who migrated a year before, so when I was ask questions, I stupidly told the immigration guy I was still schooling in Nigeria, anyways long story short my dependant visa was cancelled but I was allowed to stay for a week.
Six months later I applied for a family visit visa and d rest is history.
It doesn't affect u from entering into the UK again, allow your hubby to move to the other visa and applied with that.

I guess the extortion is at MM Airport. Those guys are a disgrace.
No one try to extort anything from me at MMA tho, but the annoying is the risk profiling ( telling few of us to tender cash, while letting others go without any hassle)

Though i was asked, i told them i have enough. i didnt have to show. besides, i had my mastercard. All these were asked cos i was sent to an inner office for refusing to pay extra $50.
Arrived Nairobi this morning. O dear o dear, the level of extortion within the airport is alarming. I won't generalize tho, cos someone else may likely not experience what I experienced.
Right from the port health to immigration to police, anyways I didn't drop a penny. Crack jokes et al to make them feel relax. I know I was in for a journey when I checked in on rwandair, the guy at the Lagos desk are crazy. After I told them I don't like carrying cash, as I have a dollar dominated MasterCard, they insist I still show them physical money.
Anyways I need to get some needed rest.

Its Available at the Airport. I think for as low as one thousand Naira. I got mine from the health centre in the state i reside. Through the Department of Public health. I also made sure i got the necessary Vaccinations as required.
Thanks for this bro.
Did you also have to show funds upto $400 at the point of entry? cos I read somewhere a visitor has to. Not sure if that's true.

Strange. i didnt pay any fee at the POE. I presented my Evisa n hotel reservation.
I was sent to a waiting room for refusing to pay another $50. The officer had to allow me when i answered all questions "authoritatively".
Since then, i am considering paying the $50 at the POE and not using evisa. Though, i dont know hoe that would play out.
Did you have to get a yellow fever card before u travelled?
I may likely face this scenario when I get to Nairobi later this month, cos I don't like paying extra after paying for my evisa online.
TravelRe: My Trip To Kenya In Pictures by Divine88:

Evisa is 50 dollars and you just have to go to ecitizen.co.ke and follow the process. But immigration had to collect 50 dollars at the airport just because...corruption. Police collected 14$ from me as well and both of them threatened to send me back.
Good day bro, I am visiting my fiancée's family in two weeks. Did u have to go along with a yellow fever card? If u did, where did u obtain one from? Did u also have to show evidence of funds? Been reading around that u have to show funds upto $400, is that true?
Will appreciate your response. Thanks

Wonder when this country will meet up to the level of a developed country.
People screaming here about earning a salary of 250k per month working tirelessly everyday. They think that's life.
I studies in the UK and work partime 15hours at a local grocery store while studying. I take home BTW £500-£550 every month( on a minimum wage oo).
Now multiply £550 by #600( exchange rate). So I take home #330000 every month, working for just 15 hours every week.
No wonder a lot of us want to leave this shores.

I think your docs are good but you should have made use of the space in the application form to explain more on the irregular incomes
Received my docs today, passport was not stamped and I didn't see a refusal letter. What that that implies justwise? Am confuse right now

Am about to submit. Should I also include both my UK bank account statements (up to £2000) and my Nigerian bank account statement (peanuts).

Op there is no good or bad way of writing a CV/resume anywhere, trust me people will keep on suggesting this and suggesting that to u.
But one thing u need to do is make sure you check your spellings well, use the right verb and u will be fine.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Divine88: 7:56am On Oct 11, 2016
Hello everyone. Thanks to justwise for this forum.
Please I am planning to apply for a family visitor visa. My family visitor visa expired years ago. I just came back from the UK 5months ago after the completion of my studies. My dilemma is I am not working at the moment, my parent are my sponsor. They both live in the UK. Will my not having a source of constant income hinder my application? How can I convince the VO that I am just visiting family? Mind u, I have been frequently travelling to the UK to visit family in the last 10years, as parent and siblings lives in the UK.
Thanks guys as I await you guys advise

Lexusgs:
Not currently been in employment, would almost definitely be a negative.
Visitation between parties in your case is an extra advantage (not all applicants have that privilege).
The only advantage the visiting visa would give u (if granted) is you get to see your sisi in December and you empty some congealed engine oil. LOL........
The disadvantages funds wastage, time delay on spousal visa application etc etc etc
I hope with this few points, I have convinced and not confused you.......
Hehehehehe on d engine oil part.
Thanks bro.
You've 50% convince and 50% confuse me oooo tbh

Lexusgs430:
Let's assume the Family visa is granted, you cannot still take up any legal form of employment.
Why not just do the right thing and take the right process since you already have a sisi?
Yea that I know of. So u reckon I shouldn't waste my money now to apply for a family visit. But i read that when submiting your application for spousal visa, u need to show evidence of visitation between the parties involve.

I wasn't planning to use the family visit visa to marry oo, I was just inquiring if my not having an employment at the moment will hinder my application for a family visit visa.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Divine88: 6:59pm On Oct 10, 2016
Lexusgs430:
My advice would be, your girlfriend visiting you in Nigeria, you both do a registry marriage, organize all documents for spousal visa, pay for priority application and sit back and relax.........
NB : Save the cost of transporting everybody to Nigeria. When your spousal visa is granted, you can do it again @ a uk registry office..........
Thanks man!!
I am also planning on travelling this December to engage her (family dinner). My family visitor visa expired years ago. I want to apply for a new one. M worried cos at the moment am not working, will that hinder the success of my family visit visa application?
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Divine88: 6:25pm On Oct 10, 2016
Good day guys. God bless everyone who has been commenting and helping people on this forum.
I need good advice's from you guys. Here is my gist:
I just came back from the UK 5 months ago after the completion of my MSc. Been looking for jobs up to no avail at the moment.
I having been dating my girlfriend (British citizen) for 15months now and we are seriously planning to get married. We have been looking for options or wat step to take to get married.
Unfortunately my family and her family lives in the UK (family Friends). My family migrated to the UK a long time ago, I didn't cos I was classified as a adult (I was 18 then). I am a frequent UK family visit traveller. The first time I spend so long with my family was when I came to do my Masters.
I really want to go back and be with my family and and the same time be with my love.
Do you reckon we should bring the whole family to Nigeria, get married and apply for a spouse visal or apply for a marriage visitor visa?

NB: My girl friend works(surpass the financial requirements) and co-owned her house with her sister (they both share the mortgage).

Thank you guys
