cindylee:I had similar kind of situation in 2006. It was a dependant visa back then. I was to join my family who migrated a year before, so when I was ask questions, I stupidly told the immigration guy I was still schooling in Nigeria, anyways long story short my dependant visa was cancelled but I was allowed to stay for a week. Six months later I applied for a family visit visa and d rest is history. It doesn't affect u from entering into the UK again, allow your hubby to move to the other visa and applied with that. |
maxti:No one try to extort anything from me at MMA tho, but the annoying is the risk profiling ( telling few of us to tender cash, while letting others go without any hassle) |
maxti:No problem sir |
maxti:Arrived Nairobi this morning. O dear o dear, the level of extortion within the airport is alarming. I won't generalize tho, cos someone else may likely not experience what I experienced. Right from the port health to immigration to police, anyways I didn't drop a penny. Crack jokes et al to make them feel relax. I know I was in for a journey when I checked in on rwandair, the guy at the Lagos desk are crazy. After I told them I don't like carrying cash, as I have a dollar dominated MasterCard, they insist I still show them physical money. Anyways I need to get some needed rest. |
maxti:Thanks for this bro. Did you also have to show funds upto $400 at the point of entry? cos I read somewhere a visitor has to. Not sure if that's true. |
BedLam:Thanks |
maxti:Alright, thanks. Where can I get it please? I heard u can get it at the port health office. Please is that true? And how much is it? |
maxti:Did you have to get a yellow fever card before u travelled? I may likely face this scenario when I get to Nairobi later this month, cos I don't like paying extra after paying for my evisa online. |
BedLam:Good day bro, I am visiting my fiancée's family in two weeks. Did u have to go along with a yellow fever card? If u did, where did u obtain one from? Did u also have to show evidence of funds? Been reading around that u have to show funds upto $400, is that true? Will appreciate your response. Thanks |

Wonder when this country will meet up to the level of a developed country. People screaming here about earning a salary of 250k per month working tirelessly everyday. They think that's life. I studies in the UK and work partime 15hours at a local grocery store while studying. I take home BTW £500-£550 every month( on a minimum wage oo). Now multiply £550 by #600( exchange rate). So I take home #330000 every month, working for just 15 hours every week. No wonder a lot of us want to leave this shores. |
justwise:Thanks justwise I also noticed they returned the original online application form to me with my passport photo attached. I doubt if anyone went through my application. Am confuse now |
justwise:I fill the email request form jmmediately and also send another email to Sheffield. Do u reckon I should go to the nearest British embassy? |
justwise:Received my docs today, passport was not stamped and I didn't see a refusal letter. What that that implies justwise? Am confuse right now |
Hello guys , just received my documents and passport back. Passport was not signed neither was a refusal letter included. Please what does this mean? What should I do? |
[quote author=justwise post=51415617]Sure you can submit both [/quot Alright thanks |
justwise:Am about to submit. Should I also include both my UK bank account statements (up to £2000) and my Nigerian bank account statement (peanuts). |
Op there is no good or bad way of writing a CV/resume anywhere, trust me people will keep on suggesting this and suggesting that to u. But one thing u need to do is make sure you check your spellings well, use the right verb and u will be fine. |
kemilolz:No |
justwise:Alright sir, thanks!! |
justwise:Yes Justwise. |
Hello everyone. Thanks to justwise for this forum. Please I am planning to apply for a family visitor visa. My family visitor visa expired years ago. I just came back from the UK 5months ago after the completion of my studies. My dilemma is I am not working at the moment, my parent are my sponsor. They both live in the UK. Will my not having a source of constant income hinder my application? How can I convince the VO that I am just visiting family? Mind u, I have been frequently travelling to the UK to visit family in the last 10years, as parent and siblings lives in the UK. Thanks guys as I await you guys advise |
Lexusgs:Hehehehehe on d engine oil part. Thanks bro. You've 50% convince and 50% confuse me oooo tbh |
Lexusgs430:Yea that I know of. So u reckon I shouldn't waste my money now to apply for a family visit. But i read that when submiting your application for spousal visa, u need to show evidence of visitation between the parties involve. I wasn't planning to use the family visit visa to marry oo, I was just inquiring if my not having an employment at the moment will hinder my application for a family visit visa. |
Lexusgs430:Thanks man!! I am also planning on travelling this December to engage her (family dinner). My family visitor visa expired years ago. I want to apply for a new one. M worried cos at the moment am not working, will that hinder the success of my family visit visa application? |
Good day guys. God bless everyone who has been commenting and helping people on this forum. I need good advice's from you guys. Here is my gist: I just came back from the UK 5 months ago after the completion of my MSc. Been looking for jobs up to no avail at the moment. I having been dating my girlfriend (British citizen) for 15months now and we are seriously planning to get married. We have been looking for options or wat step to take to get married. Unfortunately my family and her family lives in the UK (family Friends). My family migrated to the UK a long time ago, I didn't cos I was classified as a adult (I was 18 then). I am a frequent UK family visit traveller. The first time I spend so long with my family was when I came to do my Masters. I really want to go back and be with my family and and the same time be with my love. Do you reckon we should bring the whole family to Nigeria, get married and apply for a spouse visal or apply for a marriage visitor visa? NB: My girl friend works(surpass the financial requirements) and co-owned her house with her sister (they both share the mortgage). Thank you guys Cc @justwise, lexusgs430 |
