By Dermot Corrigan, Spain Correspondent Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho is of the belief that he should no longer be called the "Special One" but the "Only One". Jose Mourinho, Real Madrid GettyImagesJose Mourinho: The "Only One"? • Play Premier Fantasy - it's free With English, Italian and Spanish league medals won in recent seasons, former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss Mourinho has claimed it is time for a new nickname. "In England, I was presented as the 'Special One'," Mourinho told Portuguese TV channel SIC on Monday night. "Thanks to God, things have gone well and, whether you like it or not, I am the only one who has won the English, Italian and Spanish championships. So, more than the 'Special One', they must begin to call me the 'Only One'." Mourinho, who gave himself the Special One moniker in his first press conference as Chelsea manager, said he was now motivated by helping those around him to achieve their personal ambitions. "After having won practically everything, as time has passed I have become less self-centred and egocentric," he said. "I have always liked more the joy of other people, those around me. For this, winning with Inter gave me a special pleasure. These are challenges, not personal goals. I also think I could have been a good human resources executive." The coach, who was taking an advantage of this week's international break to return to his home country ahead of La Liga's kick off next weekend, claimed people did not know the real Jose Mourinho. "In 2010, I was chosen best coach in the world, in 2011 I was chosen second, now I do not worry about the position I am in," he said. "The pressure is not the hardest thing about being a manager - the most difficult is that other people do not have a true image of me. I still hope to continue for many years at the highest level, but I also want to enjoy many things in my life." Mourinho, 49, said managing teams in different leagues around Europe had made him a better coach. "I am about to turn 50 years old and I feel as if I were beginning my career as a coach," he added. "At the beginning, I knew I had some qualities, but I was far from imagining I would get to where I am today. I have not raced from eight to 80 - it has been a progressive journey. Winning the Champions League in Portugal [with Porto in 2004] prepared me to go abroad. "I left prepared and with status. The richness of my development as a man and as a coach has been the result of jumping from country to country. That has made me a much better coach." His current challenge of taking on Barcelona was particularly enjoyable, as Spain's big two clubs were so far ahead of rivals in other leagues, the Madrid boss added. "It is a consequence of the footballing power of the two clubs," he said. "The best team from England, or Germany, Holland, or from any other country, the most they could do in Spain would be third place. "This duel of titans forces the clubs and the players to become better. It is a healthy duel and I enjoy it. The two clubs are fighting for world football hegemony." http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1133617/real-madrid%27s-jose-mourinho:-call-me-the-%27only-one%27?cc=3888 |
the olympic organising committee have not been fair to Nigeria cos they didn't include 1. Coruption 2. Kidnapping 3. Boko Zala 4. Traficking 5. 419 6. Bribery 7. Man inhuman to man 8. Witchcraft 9. Political stealing 10. I too Know God etc. These would have help gather medals, at least silver not bronze. GJ and his ministers should protest for naija. |
if naija didn't win a medal, maybe that will help Government rethink. It is unacceptable to say that naija don't have talented people that are capable of wining because government has made many nigerians think of money and corruption, nothing more. Ask GJ whether he is ready to die for naija, i think his heart would say no. It is sad that since Atlanta 1996 naija has not moved to the next level, too bad. These are the solutions to our problems; we need to change our attitude both government and citizens. Sporting center should be created and well equiped in every districts where young people can engage themselves in sporting activities also reducing crime. Let young people eat sports as if it is their daily bread right from childhood to adulthood then inter-district competitions be organised to select best performance without bias or who you know. |

The Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi and the state's deputy governor had a close shave with death today as a suicide bomber detonated his bomb just meters from where both were. The incident happened around 2:15pm, immediately after Friday prayers at the mosque in front of the Shehu's palace. Witnesses said a youth of about the age of 15 was noticed walking towards the two dignitaries. However, the suspicious manner in which he was approaching them immediately drew the attention of the security men guarding the Shehu who quickly tried to shield him. In the process, the bomb went off, killing at least 10 other people in the vicinity and critically wounding two of the soldiers. JTF spokesman in the state, Lt. Col. Sagir Musa confirmed the incident but said only 5 people were killed and 6 others, including the two soldiers, wounded by the blast. The area around the Shehu's palace has been cordoned off and more soldiers have been deployed to the scene. More details soon. http://dailytrust.com.ng/index.php/other-sections/lead-stories/171777-breaking-news-shehu-of-borno-dgov-escape-death-as-suicide-bomber-kills-10 I THINK IT'S A DIVERSION Maybe the truth of the matter is coming out clearer but this occur to create a diversion even it means taking out the life of his 15 year old son or brother. Written by Isaac Shobayo Tuesday, 03 January 2012 Share Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State has implored the Federal Government not to heed the advice of those urging it to negotiate with the leadership of Boko Haram, querying, who is Boko Haram ? The governor, who stated this during the crossover night service at Evangelical Bible Outreach MInistry (EBOMI) in Jos, said President Jonathan should be wary of those giving him such advice, noting that the advice was counter productive. Governor Jang said those behind the Boko Haram sect should come out from their hiding to declare to the government and people of Nigeria who they are. He queried, “who are they that the Federal Government would go into negotiation with?” The Plateau State governor stated that going by the current ugly events in the country, President Jonathan was going through too much pressure, adding that God who made him the leader would strengthen him and make him overcome the current security challenges in the country. He charged the president to be bold as the Biblical Joshua, who led the people of Isreal from captivity to the promise land, adding that he should not allow anything to distract him from achieving his vision of bringing Nigerians out of the woods. Governor Jang, who said the crisis in Plateau State would soon be a thing of the past, charged the people to re-dedicate themselves to God and pray for Nigeria. Earlier, the General Overseer of EBOMI Prayer City, Prophet Isa El-Buba, told the congregation that gathered for the crossover service that by faith the Christian community would overcome the fear of Boko Haram. In his new year prophetic message, he said God is coming in anger to deal with those causing hardship for innocent Nigerians, and advised the people to hold on to the promises of God that He would be there for them in the time of need. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/33715-dont-negotiate-with-boko-haram-jang |

In the early hours of Tuesday, some hoodlums alleged to be on the revenge mission stormed the Murtala Muhammed Way of the state capital and brutally killed one of the security men at the sentry post of the Afribank, now Main Street Bank by stabbing him to death while his three colleagues escaped. Nigerian Tribune learnt that the hoodlums went on the rampage on the major street, inflicting injuries on people at random and also vandalised the premises of Fed Ex, a courier company, while other business premises along the popular road were not spared. It was also gathered that a senior pastor with the Christ Apostolic Church, Pastor G.C. Shawari, and his son were killed at their official residence on the premises of the church on Monday evening, when a group of youths invaded the house. An eyewitness told Nigerian Tribune that the irate youth entered the premises through the back door, swooped on the pastor and his son and macheted both of them to death while the wife narrowly escaped. The Chief Medical Director of Jos University Teaching Hospital, Dr Ishaya Pam, told newsmen that 13 corpses of those that died on Monday were transferred to JUTH mortuary on Tuesday. According to him, one of the 18 victims on transfer to JUTH died on the way, adding that 98 per cent of those on admission suffered gunshot wounds. However, Plateau State Police Commissioner, Mr Emmanuel Ayeni, has stated that the Muslim youth were warned against using the prayer ground on Rukuba road for their Sallah prayers. Speaking with newsmen, he said despite several appeals, the youth said it was the ground or nowhere, adding that the police had made adequate arrangements for security during the Sallah celebrations, but the group, Ja’amatu Izallatu Jibi’a Wa Ikamatu Sunna (JIBWIS), had insisted that their own Sallah prayers would be held a day ahead of others and it would be at the Rukuba road prayer ground. “Maybe there was an animosity between the youth that metamorphosed into what we witnessed today [Monday], but we had made comprehensive arrangements for today and tomorrow [Tuesday and Wednesday] but suddenly the Izalla group emerged and said they would observe their own Sallah on Monday morning . We advised them that there were certain routes we believed would cause problem and certain venues. “We advised them to avoid that venue and go somewhere else, but this sect insisted that they have to do it there. And it did not go down well with the local youth. After the prayers, many of the youth hijacked the area and there was a breakdown of law and order, but policemen ensured that those who went for prayers were escorted safely out of that place. Even at that, the whole thing became bloody.” He confirmed that 11 people were killed and more than 50 vehicles were burnt during the incident while the spokesman for the Special Task Force, Captain Charles Ekeocha, said that 13 people were killed and over 20 wounded. |
This act the Muslim took was not Ignorance but "intentionally stupid" based on this paper. They were warned, so they got what they deserve. Illiteracy is eating so many of them, that is why they can't think (that when you put your finger in a red hot iron it will burn you). This category of Muslims are disease to this nation. They acted stupid and they are still acting stupid by killing others. I think they are the cause of all the troubles in Jos because they are so hungry to kill innocent lives. Last year the Christians did not enjoy their Christmas due to spate of bombings around Rukuba road killing so many innocent lives. It was alleged by many that the Muslims had hand in the bombings. I wonder why the Muslims picked that same area to worship at this time since the peace in Jos has not been restored fully. Could it be ignorance! |
N106bn traced to judgment procurement •Judges own luxury houses in UK, UAE, S/Africa | Print | E-mail Written by Taiwo Adisa, Abuja Friday, 26 August 2011 THE presidency appears to be in a dilemma as to the nature of its intervention in the judicial arm of government, following the submission of a secret report which indicted a number of judicial officers of monumental corruption. Investigations by the Nigerian Tribune confirmed that the government is in possession of the document which detailed lots of underhand dealings in the judiciary. It was confirmed that unethical practices, such as judgment procurement and actual instances of corruption were probed by the secret committee. According to investigations, the report, which detailed incidents in the judiciary from 2006 to 2011, confirmed that a number of judges have been named as “living above their legal means.” It was further confirmed that a number of judicial officers were linked to what was termed “judgment procurement,” which was said to have gulped about N106 billion in recent years. “The bulk of that sum has been salted away in foreign lands to procure properties in the name of fake companies, fake children, schools and fake associates,” a source privy to the document quoted the submission. “The last has not been heard of the development in the judiciary, as far as corruption is concerned. A report in the hands of the state has confirmed that some properties were bought globally, especially in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), South Africa and London. Some of the real owners are judicial personnel, whose total emoluments cannot in anyway justify the purchases. “Some of them have been found to send their children to some of the most expensive schools in the world, without taking loans. These are mind-boggling discoveries,” the source said. A source said that the government was worried that a sacred arm of government was being desecrated by certain forces and that some of those making the loudest noise about the situation in the judiciary were “mere poster images of corruption.” Though the source said that the government was working to ensure that its actions in the judiciary were not misconstrued as political moves, it was learnt that a decision had been taken to ensure that the guilty did not go unpunished. “The comprehensive report detailing the rot in the judiciary is in the hands of the highest authorities. I can confirm to you that those mentioned in the report as having been linked to improper conduct cannot go unpunished. The offences vary from judgment procurement to undue influence on judges. It dates back to the Obasanjo/Atiku era,” the source said. “It has become so embarrassing to the government that judgments of Nigeria, which were readily cited in the United Kingdom and other lands are no longer regarded. Law students outside the country no longer see the judgments from Nigeria as worth the paper on which they are written. It is a battle the government must fight to ensure a proper demarcation between politics and the judiciary,” the source said. http://www.tribune.com.ng/index.php/front-page-news/27272-fg-uncovers-corruption-in-judiciary-n106bn-traced-to-judgment-procurement-judges-own-luxury-houses-in-uk-uae-safrica |

How Mikel’s father was abducted -Police Commissioner Written by Isaac Shobayo, Chris Agbambu and Kola Oyelere Wednesday, 24 August 2011 PLATEAU State Commissioner of Police, Mr Emmanuel Dipo Ayeni, has disclosed that two men of the Military Special Task Force (STF) deployed in the state to maintain peace were arrested in connection with the abduction of Pa Michael Obi along with seven others. The state commissioner of police, who stated this while handing over Pa Obi to his family in Jos on Tuesday, said the soldiers attached to the STF are Sergeant Victor Essien 2BN 96NA/43/11231; Private Jaduwa Thloma 2BN 03NA/54/5527, along with Ifeanyi Hyacinth, Ndubuisi Friday, Basil Chukwuma, Nkechi Osai Sule Ibrahim and Hajiya Awa Abubakar. Narrating how the man was kidnapped, Mr Ayeni said Pa Obi was on his way home on the day he was kidnapped and sandwiched in a military patrol van marked STF and was told that their commander wanted to see him. According to him, the old man was badly beaten to the point of death and could not stand on his feet again. They asked him twice whether he could give them N10 million and he said yes. He said, thereafter, he was taken from the military vehicle into a flashy vehicle that came there to join them at the unknown destination, adding that he was sandwiched in the midst of four persons, two in the front and two at the back seat. From there, he was driven to Kano at an unimaginable speed with his head forced down throughout the journey. The commissioner said on getting to Kano, the man was drugged and lost consciousness, adding that after waking up, one Mr Ifeanyi Hyacinth asked him to give them $4 billion, which they called a chicken change to Mikel Obi and his club, Chelsea. Ayeni said the journey to Obi’s rescue started on Monday, when police detectives, led by Ochowechi Salifu from Plateau State police command and complemented by detectives from State Crime Investigation Department, Kano, stormed the house at Kabuga, BUK Road, Kano, where Michael Obi was being kept by his kidnappers. Narrating his ordeal, Pa Obi, who said he was drugged and mercilessly beaten by the kidnappers, commended the police for the steps taken to rescue him, adding that the way and manner he was rescued had changed his view about the police. Reacting to the development, the state government viewed the act as irresponsible, adding that the involvement of the men of STF in the act had further strengthened government position on the operation of the STF in the state. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Mr Ayuba Pam, said there was the need to review the operation of the STF to meet the need of the state, adding that involvement of soldiers in a series of unholy act in the state was highly condemnable. Meanwhile, the Nigerian Army authorities have arrested two soldiers over the kidnap of father of the Mikel Obi, who was kidnapped last week in Jos. Brigadier-General R.I.D. Isa, who announced this in Abuja, on Tuesday, while briefing newsmen, said the Army authorities viewed the allegation seriously, especially the mention of soldiers of the Special Task Force, Jos, as suspects by the victim. According to him, this brought to the fore the fact that the army itself was not insulated from the kind of criminal activities that they saw and heard about in the larger society. The army spokesman said the sergeant and the lance corporal were arrested midnight on Monday, while the military police had commenced investigations to verify the allegation. He announced that the arrest of the two soldiers and the investigations would unravel the three other soldiers that kidnapped him. Brigadier-General Isa said the Army headquarters was disturbed that criminal elements had found their way into the army and would not hesitate to deal with any soldier who would want to throw away the core ethics of the profession by engaging in such criminal activities as kidnapping, robbery and the like. As part of the transformation agenda, the spokesman said the army, among other things, had embarked on fingerprinting exercise in a DNA/Biometric Data Bank programme to enhance general administration. Also, he announced that the 2011 Army recruitment that had just been conducted would be subjected to police scrutiny, including use of traditional rulers at the lowest levels of society before the candidates were invited for training. He assured Nigerians that the outcome of these investigations would be made public as soon as the military police concluded their investigations. In another development, the Kano State police command had moved Mr Obi to Jos for a reunion with his family, just as the police also transferred the five suspects to Jos, where the crime was committed. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, said Mikel’s father, alongside the suspects, departed Kano at about 5.00 a.m on Tuesday for Jos, amidst water-tight security provided by the Kano State police command. According to him, “they left this morning to Jos at about 5.00 a.m. Elder Obi is not a suspect but a victim and so he is at liberty to be reunited with his family.” |

2 killed, 3 injured as Boko Haram, security operatives clash •2 churches burnt | Print | E-mail Written by James Bwala, Maidugurii Tuesday, 07 June 2011 Two persons were killed and three others wounded in Biu, Borno State, when suspected members of the Boko Haram sect clashed with the Joint Military/Police Taskforce on Saturday. At about the same time, some miscreants at Gwoza, also set two churches ablaze, because two men were allegedly caught having sex in one of them. According to police authorities at Gwoza, one of those involved in the homosexual act is a Christian, which propelled the miscreants to go on rampage, burning the churches. Confirming the two incidents, the Borno State police commissioner, Mohammed Abubakar, said: “we had a clash with suspected members of the outlawed Boko Haram sect in Biu at about 8:00p.m on Saturday. In the process, two people were gunned down. None of our officers and men including soldiers were killed or injured in the clash.” He said the two persons were killed by stray bullets from the clash between the security agents and the outlawed religious sect adding that: “ no arrest has been made by the police. But information provided by some residents could assist us in fishing out the assailants that have been targeting policemen, soldiers and traditional and religious leaders in state.” The police commissioner said the burning of the churches and the alleged homosexuality were being investigated by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), stating that the burning of the churches was the handiwork of a gang of miscreants and not the Islamic sect, as insinuated by some security agents. http://tribune.com.ng/index.php/news/23135-2-killed-3-injured-as-boko-haram-security-operatives-clash-2-churches-burnt |
http://www.dailytrust.dailytrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=20558:blast-police-hold-zaria-cleric-albani&catid=2:lead-stories&Itemid=8 Monday, 06 June 2011 04:27 Isa Liman, Zaria E-mail Print PDF 182Share [Inspector General Hafiz Abubakar] Inspector General Hafiz Abubakar There was apprehension in many parts of Zaria in Kaduna State yesterday as news spread of the arrest by the police of prominent Muslim cleric Sheikh Muhammad Awwal Adam Albani. Sheikh Albani, who is based in Zaria, was said to have been asked by Police Inspector General (IGP) Hafiz Ringim to report to the Kaduna State Police Command for interrogation in connection with the pre-election bomb blasts in Kaduna city. Confirming the arrest, Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer DSP Aminu Lawal said details of why the police picked the Islamic scholar would be made public in due course. A reliable source however told Daily Trust that Sheikh Albani was invited by the IGP to Abuja for interrogation but was asked to report himself to the police’s Kaduna Command. “He was in Abuja on the IGP’s invitation on Friday but was asked to report to the Kaduna Command on Saturday. He was detained at Kaduna since Saturday afternoon up till today Sunday. We learnt that they were accusing him of having information on the bombs that exploded before the presidential election in Kaduna city. All those arrested in connection of the bomb blasts could neither recognise Malam’s (Albani) voice nor his face when they were asked to do that in the midst of other people,” a student of the cleric who prefers anonymity, said. Albani’s detention was first noticed when his students gathered at his school, Darul Hadith in Gaskiya Layout for their routine weekend lessons. The rumours of his arrest began to spread on Friday when a list of those to be arrested was said to have been handed down to some district heads and Sheikh Albani and other scholars’ names were said to have topped the list. “In Tukur Tukur, for example, it was the district head, Alhaji Akilu Idris Dan Isan Zazzau that is coordinating the arrest. The district head had last week summoned his ward heads to tell them the people that would be arrested in their areas. It is in connection with that the police attempted to arrest one Yusuf Yellow at Unguwan Mahauta in Tudun Jukun but women and youths of the area resisted the arrest. “Apart from Albani, other youthful scholars of Zaria like Ustaz Nura Dambo are all on the list. It would interest you to know that because some of the ward heads refused to cooperate with Dan Isan Zazzau on this issue, he ordered the arrest of Sarkin Tudun Jukun and other ward heads,” a resident, who gave his name as Aliyu Mai Jama’a, told Daily Trust. When contacted, Dan Isan Zazzau said he was not aware of any such list, saying that traditional rulers are not policemen and as such, they don’t have the powers to either arrest or intimidate any person. Since the post-election riot, the police in Zaria have been inviting different categories of people for interrogation. Islamic scholars were the most affected. “Our fear is that this incessant arrest can lead to another round of crisis especially if the massacre of our people at southern Kaduna is anything to go by. We didn’t see the police intimidating or arresting the suspects of the massacre, which means they have targets on those to victimise. The Vice President, Namadi Sambo, who is said to be behind the arrest of our scholars and people, should be very careful because the more our people are arrested and intimidated the more we hate the VP and his entire party,” Malam Mai Jama’a said. However, Malam Umar Sani, the media aide to the VP said that Architect Mohammed Namadi Sambo was not involved in police investigations and could not have ordered any arrests. . |
Quran (2:191-193) - "And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers], and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah."Quran (4:76) - "Those who believe fight in the cause of Allah…" Quran (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things." God is at work. I just called a friend residing in that area to confirm the news, it actually happen. Two bad, bad Hausa guys tried to set the Bomb in Ecwa church during Sunday service when the bomb exploded and killed the two young men. They thought God will not hear the cry of the innocents killed by their hands. If they continue with the killings, our God almighty will reply them, even their generations yet unborn will equally share the curse of their parents involve in the dastardly acts. |
Imagine these statements made "In his reaction to the crisis, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Yuguda on Media Affairs, Sanusi Mohammed, dismissed the allegation that the government was responsible for the attack, saying the attackers came from a neighbouring state, with a mission to cause mayhem and misunderstanding in the area." This man in government don't reason well and He not ready to accept blame,,,full of Poo and "On the threat to relocate the area, Mohammed said that, “the government still stands by its statement to relocate the area if the problem persists.
