Why do our government officials and their sycophants keep downplaying our struggles by insisting that the terrible things we face daily also happen elsewhere? I’ve yet to see any of them highlight the 85% of quality-of-life improvements these same countries enjoy—improvements we continue to lack.

If Nigeria is truly safe and the advisory from Australia to its citizens is unfounded, then our government officials, along with their aides, should demonstrate confidence by moving around freely with a maximum of two security guards.
