What of doctors, civil servants and ordinary Nigerians, everyone is important. Why this obsession with judges? If judges can't save and build a home for themselves before they retire, why should we use everybody's patrimony for some sets of citizens. |
Jamiuokolla:Am not castigating you. Just want to encourage people to try if that's what they are convinced it's the ambition. I wrote my last PTE 2 months to my 45th, and applied for invitations 2 weeks to 45th birthday. And today, I have my grant. I got nomination in 2022. In all, what I was pointing out is not to get discouraged with recent trend, anything can happen at any time. Theresa's a friend that missed the chance I got cause he gave up too early, when the opportunity beckoned, all his papers were expired. Hope you understand my point |
bellong:Thanks my Oga. Kudos to you @bellong & @tunlex. Without you two there won't be a story. I got most of my info here and now it's history. Hope to meet you two one day. |
Jamiuokolla:Thus is wrong. When I was applying, my point was 65, with state point, before I managed to get 10 in PTE. Nomination points was at 85/ 90 then, even NSW reel out 105 as minimum points for my occupation. But in a twist of fate, 189 came, and everyone from 65 points got nominated for 189. 30,000 invitation was given out. Then all states were trying to attract the rest, that same NSW slashed their point to 65 points 3 months later, and people were even rejecting 491. So there is no harm in trying, today I have my visa. |
siina:Story story Wife first drop the idea of relocation in 2015 and I laughed it off, is it money. Then 2017 I still said no. So during the lock down, I saw the way our government treated us and she brought it up again and I bought into the idea. But was 43 then. Spent half of 2020 practicing IELTS. After 3 IELTS and 3 PTE, I missed superior by 2 points - 77. That was August 2022. 45th birthday was Oct. 2022. So I was just hopeless, 2 months to get nominated. Points stood @ 75 for 491. Then the shocker of NSW. So on September 21 wife called me on my way to work that NT opened that it may work. I just told her to leave me that 2 weeks to 45, what again. Bit 30min later something told me to at least check. And then off I go getting paper and we applied 25th. Then I got to learn NT takes 6 months to process applications. Well on the 6th of October, 2 days to my 45th, I sent a mail to NT telling them to finalise my application, that I will prefer to get a rejection than to miss out on age technicality that I may not be able to overcome the missed opportunity. On the 7th a mail came for me to clarify some things about my employment and the CO tells me to send any reply before 4pm NT. Something keeps telling me in the night to check my mail, but I said I don't want to be heartbroken. But around 4am, my son came to my room to wake me up for something, so I used that to check my mail and the request, clarified it. And then I was on my way to work when I checked my mail again, theCO messaged me again to sign declaration form for nomination and send before 5pm Darwin time if I want to be nominated. Jumped down from BRT at 7:30am looking for business center, none had opened, being running back home before I realised it will take me like an hour to get there by foot, so I hailed a bike, got home, auto sign the form sent. And them left for work. As soon as I got to the bus stop, just 5 min after, wife called that nomination approved. Just 7hours to 45th birthday. So, I got grant 8th July, 2024 Thats is my story, nothing is impossible. . |
Franka1991:Since you said you do nothing related to civil at work, I will suggest a hard pill for you of you are really determined. First, you have to find a way to practice what is related to your study, give yourself around 3 years plan to do that. VETASSESS will definitely deduct around 2yrs for qualifying. All said and done, this will only be possible if you are under 40years of age. Or you can try the student route |
Franka1991:If you can describe your job function a bit? Are you in the cementing unit Or drilling? Or maintenance? Job function and then one can be able to say what next |
DJMJ:. I was wrong it is 24 |
It's actually 30, the 25 came close, but he didn't take into consideration, those that span end to end |
Martiny:I omitted the letters in parenthesis in my application, though still waiting for grant, I believe it's the correct way. |
In my case, I omitted the letters in bracket, although still expecting grant, I guess that's the right thing to do. |
NHQGUY:Please let's be careful, someone just got a straight refusal from a telegraph group without an s57, just because he he claimed years deducted by ACS. Let's not waste opportunity by been daring and be like super eagles, resulting to luck and prayer when we can just do the right and simple thing. |
hemekhar:After deduction you can only claim experience for years deemed skilled, which should be years left after deduction. In you own case 3 years |
Bisunique25:You can send mail to the mail address on my profile. |

It is not about dexterity in this packages, can he get reference letter indicating that he does that as part of his duty at work? If yes, you are good to go. Remember to attach screen grab of drawings and pictures taking from site and anything that will prove your case. Best of luck. And one more thing for everyone, attach your highest qualification even if you are not assessing for level 1 occupation. My occupation was level 2, I attached my ND, HND and masters, vettasess recognised my masters, and I was able to claim 15 points for education. |
Bisunique25:You can either access as a technologist with EA or if you have drafting experience with autocad, you can be assessed as civil engineering draftsperson. Your HND will be assessed as advanced diploma (10 points). I went through VETASSESS as a civil draftsperson with HND and ND. They will deduct 1 year from your experience as qualifying year. |
Make una dey verify before issuing this warrant your lordships. |
Nigerian justice system is warped, the charge should not be murder, its not premeditated, it will be impossible to prove that, the defence will claim its accidental discharge. And that's manslaughter. They may bungle this case. |
O boy, 22 years now and counting, except oil company, the best you can get is 50k entry level. 10 years experience don't get beyond 250-350k in very good company, otherwise 150 best. Good luck. Nothing like 700k o |
mogivethanks:Regarding this, You will have to be an Australian citizen, a temporary visa holder,a student with work right or on a working holiday visa. For the working holiday visa, there are selected countries that can apply, unfortunately, no country in Africa, Nigeria inclusive is eligible. So sorry it may not be possible. Check this link https://www.dese.gov.au/harvest-trail/agmove |
BADNEAT:Please just to lift our spirit, are u onshore or offshore? |
cola1: The goal is to get in, not how, when you get there, you can work at any level you are qualified to. And also, level 2 occupation are less competitive as 0&1, unless you are sure of scoring 90+ Assess for role that closely matches your role, what is the purpose if you can't get a + assessment, then your mission is dead on arrival. Leave the Naija mentality My 50cent o. |

Yes, I think so, I submitted everything, even my master's, and I got positive result. Master's assessed as master's, HND advanced Diploma |
sojeokeowo2014:As regard OND, VETASSESS assess it as certificate IV, while HND as advanced diploma, based on my own outcome. So OND will not pass as AQF diploma. |
toayojj:Thanks a lot, now my mind is at rest, I can now move on with my assessment |
Please good evening, I have a quick question. I have been working with a friend for years now, pay has not been regular, I get paid per project executed, although he is ready to generate pay slip and reference letter for me, and I as a person, I pay my tax by myself every two years from around 2013 and I have tax receipt. My question is, can I use this tax I paid on self assessment for proof, being that I asked my friend and he said he doesn't do PAYE for his staff. Can I get tax clearance on this. @ bellong @tunlex @knight1 |
IamNancyDrew:Accounting is a long thing for Australia, Canada is best option. But if you can get like 110 why not, may be something can crop up |
omounique:Replied now, check Ur mail. Sorry |
bellong:I learnt it is easier to get invitation by downgrading and if you use occupation that is not highly competitive. Furthermore, I want to evade engineer Australia assessment, that CDR, I learnt no be beans. And again I have HND and then a master from UK, so am not so sure about the accord I fall into, from what I checked online I still falls under Washington accord, but just want don't want to take chances. @bellong |
BoldassBadasser:From my little knowledge, asthma is mostly triggered by dust, of which we have in abundance, while it's not so over there. Cold shouldn't be a problem for asthmatic patient. I was told a guy susceptible to asthma and had lived in Canada for years without an attack, only to visit Nigeria and had an attack days after landing. So asthma shouldn't stop you, try and get out of this place as soon as you can. I wish I knew this when I was your age ... |
toayojj:Thanks |
omounique:Send me a mail @otunde77@gmail.com then we can proceed from that Hope I didn't break any rule, if so very sorry |
