I am still saying it that if a guy that could not express him self properly in english language could get an F1 visa then i know all we go there to yalk about to the vo is notthing. the truth is that many Nigerian student are much in the united states whom did not report nor attend thier proposed school for studies. that is why they willl  ask have you travelled out before? to be sure you are not one of thoes seeking f1 visa to enter the us and run away.

True, I have seen people with F-1 who can not express themselves in English and they got Visa (them wowo join am) It is with this reason that I am among those who believe it is not just about your brains (or looks) God has to come in too!!!!

in my opinion, I dont think saying your dad advised you to study abroad is a bad response to a question. IF your Profs at school, Friends, Websites can tell you about a school why cant your father?

What you need do is appear for the interview and not sound desperate. Dont sound like if you dont get this Visa your life is finished (even thought it maybe )

Really? With the way you try to make us understand how vast you are with Visa processing you actually believe that guy was denied because he changed locations? How many Miles is Abj from Lagos? I am asking this because people travel thousands of Miles here to get what they could get in their locality just to have a road trip and to see leaves falling off the trees (FALL)

I advice any body to answer questions thrown at them the best way they can answer it with their brain and not what someone advised them to say. I found this the best approach during my interview.

For instance, I go to renew my Visa in Abj now and VO asks me why AbJ my response would be It is been over 2 years I saw Abj so I used the opportunity to come to Abj to renew my thing!!!! Like I said before no Biggie!

To be more precise, if a person was denied in lagos but couldn't get a date in lagos until way after the school's resumption date but got a date in Abuja that's before the school's resumption, is that a red flag? And what reason can be given to the consular for changing location? Is the fact that the lagos consulate didn't have available dates before the person's resumption unlike Abuja enough reason?

I dont think any Consular would ask you why you changed locations. Abuja and Lagos is the same just different locations so no biggie!!!!

I know people here wey their papa get all the money for Naija wey their tomorrow is already planned but they have no plans to go back to naija after school. What I am trying to say here is still the same. There is no way for those guys at the embassy or Washington can ever tell you will come back except if you present it to them indirectly.

At my previous interview with the guy in counter 2 at lagos consulate branch, i reported my skool was introduced to me by my uncle that resides in thesame state with my skool but different locations, it is still possible i tell them something a bit different from the first answers i gave?

Bros, trust me Visas are not issued based on BIG accounts!!!! There are lots of other things you need to put into consideration, Things like your Age, the way you answer his questions and many other things certainly not only about the account,

I don't think some1 can go for an interview without paying the sevis fee, cos the guys that will check your papers and actually knw if u hv an appointment will request for your i-20 and sevis fee payment receipt b4 I can join the que and enter inside. Just saying thou

I have a friend who did and I know at least two other people that did the same thing,

people have got their Visas without paying SEVIS fees, They paid after they got their Visas. I have a friend here who paid the fees after he got his Visa.

My SEVIS FEE payment has reflected finally. I just printed the online receipt. Expecting the hard copy soon. Still looking for a Late Nov/Early Dec date for Abuja.

You are good with the online receipt. I doubt the hard copy will ever make its way to you before you go for your interview.

Hello folks please i want to find out hw possible it is 4 one to switch school immediately u arrived in the US without attending d school on the visa. Assuming one has gotten admisn from d new sch b4 traveling.

You still have to go to the school on your Visa to transfer from them. Just walk into the office and ask to be transferred. They will ask for their I-20 and also the I-20 of the school you intend to transfer to, this is for them to transfer the SEVIS records to the new School, Do this as fast as possible because I think you only have 15 days to complete it

When you read something take the time to explain it to yourself before you come to a conclusion. I never said anything bad bout the guy, I just said if he is as kind as he is making us believe he is then he is the best Nigerian in Yankee,  Where is the insult here or where in that statement did I insinuate that he is a crook.

Why I will advice any Naija person to be careful of fellow Naija is because I have never had problem and asked for a favor and a Nigerian helped me. They always tell you one story or the other(Nigerians never tell you directly why they cant do something, they always LIE!!!) I have helped other Nigerians who I considered close friends and at the end they turned out to be ingrates and "bite me when I am are not around"

An example, A Naija guy and I were discussing about different processes of applying for a credit card and getting approved and the guy said he got approved but could not show me the letter because of the sensitivity of it. That really got me mad because I never asked to see his useless letter in the first place. Even if I asked to see the letter I know for a fact that no letter carries personal information so why make a statement as useless as that? That statement only makes me look like a thief who is out to steal the little money your parents send to you occasionally.

I have had so many encounters with Naija people and they make silly statements they shouldn't make and do things they shouldn't do which is why I said if you see Nigerians "RUN"

Every Naija person sees another Nigerian as a thief, and I make em understand that I dont deny being a thief, I just dont steal from people I am better than.  How do you expect someone who is fending for himself to steal from someone whose parents buy shoes for? Sounds illogical to me,

Before you joined this thread I read from page 1 to 120 twice and I never came across a statement suggesting that you should stay put in Naija. What everyone emphasizes on is make sure you are prepared. I am among those singing that song too. Make sure you are prepared because it is HARD here!!!!! If you come prepared you wont feel any of the things they are talking about. DONT just talk to people the way you like when in the right sense they are giving the right advice

I'm pretty sure when you report you have more than 10k you would have to pay taxes on it and most likely IRS will have their eyes on you from the moment you set your foot on the soil of this country.

Why go through all the stress? I know many people who came in with more than 15k and their money was never seized by any body. I brought in a lot of money too and I didn't tell any body.

If they correct it on a new passport the Embassy requires you to come with all previous passports you have been issued. What makes it worse is they will know if you go with a fresh passport because they issued you a visa before.

My advice, go with your birth cert and a notarized declaration of age and if they ask you, clearly show them all documents that shows your real age and explain to them that it was a mistake from Naija immigration and they promised to correct the mistake.

You may be lucky and they wont ask about it, and from experience, I think the younger you are the better your chances of F1, So get every doc and pray to God. No big deal since you get yankee visa before things should be a lil easier for you
