Naggy and seedord, My bank statement was collected from me cuz it's like now they collect all the bank statements cuz she placed it on other bank statement right before she even started interview me, And then when we were down she retruned everything only my passport ad the statement and she gave me the tag that I should go and collect my visa to one address like that on friday then b4 later she called me when I was at the door about to go out and said my sorry pls ther need to be an administrative processing stuff and said I should mail my school and let them know. Ad I was like noooo whyyy oooooo she sorry that it's what she is seen here that they will have to do it but she is afraid it wil take time but it might take time that maybe it's gonna be next section and I was like why again that tooo far she then said don't worry I will try to make it happen as soon as possible and then have me a later that they will call me soon, so what you guys think

My brother I pray your staty is legit ooooh because as it is they are not verifying anything but the statement. na the statement them wan check. And all you can do now is pray that everything goes in your favor.

@house , Is it true that the VO now retain your statement of account after giving u the green tag? Cos i heard of a story was given a green tag and retained his statement of account, on the day to pick up d visa, the didnt paste d visa stating that the account is fake.

@Tee, why you want make the whole world know say na fake account you dey carry go? , If I hear a story like that I wouldn't doubt it because yankee is full of surprises. This is where prayer comes in. They can not be holding everybody's staty to know if it is real or not but I believe say them fit hold some people own if they suspect.

It is so funny how many people run their mouth! Not talking to any one in particular sha! This was done when I was about to buy my ticket then, one bros come post many story for here about how hard things were here the only thing I told him was if things are so bad come back to naija and I will not buy my ticket again but we later talked privately and he made me understand many things which really helped me. Each time we still get the opportunity to talk he is always like 'guy you still dey survive?' I dey survive well and I am still in school things will be hard whether you know or dont know any one here when you come in but trust me if you have a goal things would be better.

I am going to say this 'off the record' I have seen a Nigerian who came in without any money and he is still alive today. I dont know if he is still in school but I know very well that he is alive. The most important thing is to believe In yourself and please when you come in the first thing to do is to go to Your school even if na for the first semester just try go.

I believe everyone knows someone in the US who will not charge them one cent for a favor.  I personally have had to help 4 (FOUR) people make SEVIS payment at no cost to them.  This is what this board is for.  You all have been good at watching each others backs. DONT STOP for financial gain.

I nor dey interested in  paying Sevis for any one again. you don do the mathematics and since you know how much MTA dey collect for NY you should help people pay. And you have no idea how much westy dey charge so be sure before you say it.

Any one interested in paying sevis fee I can help you out. MY Own cost ooooh. Na 300 I dey charge because Western union would charge about between 20 and 30 bucks. I need to pay MTA too to enter their train plus I go scan the westy receipt to you. If this option works for you let me know.

Confidence is very good but people telling you that you are so dumb before your interview is like killing you before you are killed! Come on! read my post you go understand wetin I dey talk about.

I see every one on this thread as being confident because if your not confident You wont come here to want to learn as much as possible but I know one or two people here who have suddenly turned to God. They know if you would get it or not before your interview, na people like that I dey talk to. I Just hope one person gets my message.

If you want to relate with people relate with people who can help you and not relate with someone who would have disqualified you before the interview. I remember a house member told me on the eve of My interview that the moment you fail or are unable to answer a question the chance of you getting the visa is 1% and the chance of not getting it is 99%! So when the guy asked me my first major question and could not answer it I lost hope but he kept asking other questions and I just made sure I answered and said something to him.

This thread is so Messed up all is see now is how people are so confident they could even ask the consular for a cup of coffee before their interview. This place is beginning to SMELL! When I was preparing I got something from every post on this thread even though I disagreed with some of them I always picked something out of the ones I disagreed with. The only thing you can pick from here now is fear because some people have made it their mission to put fear in people. May God help us all,

I am beginning to doubt the credibility of this thread! I am 100% certain some people just come here to tell different stories from what happened at the embassy. I faced this same interview, so I know how it is. When it comes to being confident, I am confident to talk to any body, but trust me when that day reach you go shake, the guy interviewing you expects you to, just dont show it too much.

Forget wetin any body tell you about how good and how confident he or she is, no matter how confident you are you go shake! And that talk of no stammer na lie! I cant count the amount of times I did that and the thing nor stop my green card!

People who are speech impaired go for the Interview and they come out with the visa. Does that mean they suddenly knew how to talk straight? No!

My small advice, just try and relate with someone who has gone for this interview before and ask questions about the setting because like I said before, only the setting can be intimidating if you had no previous experience like MOI!

Documents taken to the embassy vary. You may carry the whole of lagos state and the consular wont ask for anything. The VO that interviewed me spent all the time he had to interview me on ascertaining if my WAEC result legit or not. Afyter that the only other document he asked of me was bank statement. I had other documents like letter of sponsorship from my Pops and some other documents from his job but I was not asked any of those and I never showed them.

Take all the documents You have, pray and be ready. The interview is the easiest thing as long as you know what you are going to face. I did not know what I was going to face as I was made to believe I would just go in and then they ask the regular questions so I was ready to answer but that was not the case. That place is kind of intimidating if you've never been in a setting like that. Before my interview, I had never been in a setting like that and that is what threw me off balance but thank Go I got it in the end.

Computer certificate means nothing to these people believe me. You wont believe that even computer science is not such a big deal to them. At the Point of entry the guy told me his 12 year old son still in college but knows virtually everything bout computer. So you going to present them with a certificate they cant verify is not advisable. Just tell them your in school they will want to be sure so have something ready to convince them.

i have another problem OOO. I left secondary since 2008 and in OAU, part 2, computer science with Mathematics. What will i tell them i have been doing since 2008 when i get to the consular office. Cos i think not telling them about OAU will be a nice decision. Will like any other option or kinda answer from the house. Thank God, this thread is going better now compared to last week.

I finished in 2005 and the guy asked me the same thing, I told him I'm currently a student and transferring to another in the US. HE only asked me for transcript from my school in naija. Either get this from the school or do it in any way. You feel Me?

Telling them Your in a school does not mean they will deny you because I was not denied when I told them even though I messed up during the interview!

As for SEVIS, you can only pay through western union. Which means you can use a card to pay through western union.

About Visa lottery and Student Visa, if you have common sense you would know that they both contradict themselves, and if You get the visa and have applied for DV, it is not because they dont know it is because you are lucky.

Everything about america is Databased, I know this for sure because of the way things are done here. How is a school able to communicate with Immigration without having to go to their office or making a phone call? It is because they have other ways of communicating!

If You think you are smart and register for Lottery and you think they wont know you are a bigger fool than the person you are insulting. They know more than you think they know. They are even able to read most people. We all should just wait, I dont pray but one person would be denied based on this very soon.

The only advice I have, which I gave before, if You have applied, pray to your God that it does not count against you, if You have not please, just prepare for your interview.

We all know they dont confirm statements most times, but they do sometimes! When they take some application and tell you to check back for them to verify somethings they want to make sure of all your documents. This is where one needs to pray for favor. Statement of account matters some time.

Those saying any one can apply for DV and still go for student interview, I pray you dont fall into the hands of a bad consular, because if you do that is automatic disqualification. They have no records of you but the moment they scan the bar code, they have your details and they run it with their database which is connected with the DV too, that is how they know if you have applied for Visa before. If they see you applied for DV they MAY disqualify you. It is common sense.

What I advice is, if you already applied for DV just continue your preparation for your interview, if you have not, just forget it and concentrate on your interview.

@Gulag, go there and crack stupid joke make the guy laugh pursue you. Interview is interview, dont have joke in your mind but if there is an avenue to just chip in something funny do it but it should be relevant to your discussion. That na wetin me I think
