andyanders:Right on point bro, but it appears that the OP is either a learner, directionless, an un-principled guy or didn't know what he truly want in a relationship. Permit me to say that about 50 percent (50%) of problems or complaints in relationship today can be avoided if partners or lovers TRULY KNOW WHAT THEY WANT IN A RELATIONSHIP AND SET THE TONE EARLY ENOUGH to achieve it. No need to pretend, tell your lover early in a relationship your do and don't (it depends on the kind of relationship and other factors, though). When you started seeing dangerous sign like the op's case, frown at it and make her know your position - YELLOW CARD. And if she continue, GIVE HER RED CARD. A broken relationship is better than a broken home or marriage. But no, some guys are so greedy (maybe because they're not confident in themselves or are afraid to lose the girl); they're not happy in a relationship, they keep complaining about a girl but won't let her be. MY ADVICE: Be mature, be principled, be decisive, be a man and know what you want. If she did not fit into what you want or your desired lady, then, do the needful and save space on nairaland. I RISE!!! |

prophetfire:MY FRIEND, do you bother to read my post before quoting me? If you do, have you said anything different from what I post earlier?? BLAME IT ON OJUKWU: In war, you must belong to one side. In war, you must either attack your enemy or defend against your enemy. In war, there is no friend; anyone who is not for you is against you. Knowing that you're surrounded or land-locked, wouldn't it had been wise to take to confidence or create an alliance with the Niger delta or your southern brothers to form an irresistible force against your enemy?? That's where he got it all wrong. When the going gets tough for him, he resorts to penetrate through the Niger delta to access the sea so he can shell Lagos from the sea. By this time however, the Nigerian troops had already taken over the Niger delta and the west. Thanks to Gen. Gowon who ordered that the biafrans should only be captured but not to be killed. Otherwise Igbo would've been history today. He treated them like a rebellious son. The warlord had runaway by now. At this point, what do you expect the Niger deltans to do?? Remember, one of the instincts of man is survival. In my earlier post, I talk about regrets of the the Niger deltans. Believe me, if it were today, the story would've been different. Even as the Biafrans are still planning to go now, is there any plan or a kind of agreement with the present Niger delta ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Rockyheight:1, To make Nigeria ungovernable for president Jonathan, 2, To forcefully turned all Nigerians to Islam and to 3, Forcefully turned Nigeria to a sharia state or country. |

JOURNALIST ARE NOT HELPING MATTERS AT ALL. But if they (Northern leaders) actually say this, published it and accepted responsibility for its contents, then my people (North) really need urgent rehabilitation - psychologically and otherwise. This could be the effects of the spoils of war by the boko haram: the hijacked monster that they created. You know, students of psychology will say that "frustration causes aggression". Its a pity, but first, let us be sure its not a propaganda by certain party, group, region or even an individual to whip up sentiment and score cheap political points. The statement, if true, CAN NEVER REPRESENT THE OPINION OF ALL NORTHERNERS. After all, some northerners were seen with Jonathan yesterday on the podium for his second term bid. Even here on nairaland, some northerners still support Jonathan's continuity campaign. We've come of age, let's use our heads for once. Habah! GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!! |
This is one problem I have with the APC. So president Jonathan should not declared his intention to run for the office of the president because there was a bomb blast yesterday?? Ok, what if there is bomb blast from now till election, so he will never declare at all?? why not face the issues and leave the person? NA WA OOOOH!!! |

mrofficial:I DID ![]() He is my president, God made him my leader and asked me to respect, obey and pray for him. For sure, he is not the best president in the world. He has his own weaknesses as our president and much is expected from him, I don't like certain things about him and some of his policies like other Nigerians, but if I must criticize him, I must be constructive in my criticism. I must not criticized him for criticizing sake without a reason. GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!! |
A world class speech. So touching. Dr. Goodluck, Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, May the Almighty God crown all your efforts, strengthen your heart, give you the wisdom to lead this great nation to its days of glory and grants you your heart desires come 2015 in Jesus name, amen. You shall ride on the increasing intimidation, blackmail, destructive criticism, hatred, propaganda, incisive statements, insults/abuses, terrorism and political gang up against you to new heights like the eagles that settled its wing on the the toughest wind and soared higher. Amen! GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!! |
This is the more reason why people always see us, (the North) as jokers. So our governors now know that they've been "Shifting blames" instead of confronting the insurgency in the measure of their strength while putting heads with the FG ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ?? |
prophetfire:NOT SO MY FRIEND, Ken-saro wiwa did not joined the Nigeria's side to truncate "the just biafran struggle" out of frustration for the appointment of Phillip Effiong as secretary to the biafran government. They were friends even before the war. NOTE: Phillip Effiong was made secretary to the Biafran government as a desperate attempt to capture the south south (through Cross Rivers and present day Akwa Ibom) to the sea and the Atlantic ocean or gain their sympathy by Ojukwu. Food supply have been cute off by then and they need food, medical attention, more sophisticated weapons to the den gun they were using and access to some foreign country that were sympathetic with the their course. Don't forget that even at this point, there were some few world figure that believed in the Biafran course. Secondly, it was a reconciliatory efforts to gain his already angered friend (Phillip Effiong) who felt let down by Ojukwu for not taking his advice or take him to confidence. By this time however, Ken-saro wiwa was already in the winning team, the Nigerian side. If Ojukwu had captured the Niger delta, he would have won the war. He want to use the water way to access Lagos. In any serious nation world wide, history like that of the nigeria civil war are thought in schools (and are found in their school curriculum) for their younger or unborn generation to know where they are coming from, learn some lessons from their past good and bad experiences and plan for the days ahead. Its only a joking nation with questionable intentions that ignored its history or pretend about it. Yes, the south south were deceived to believe that we are one. Remember, it was during the civil war that they gave off their derivative formula in support of the strong central government to fun the war with the hope and promise of getting it back and getting a better Nigeria of their dreams. What happened after the war is story for the gods. Today, the south is still bagging for a mere 25% derivation but who will give them?? They sold it out to monsters. The regrets of supporting the war (against their south east sister), the betrayal, the killing of their sons and daughters, the destruction of their land and sea -- their sources of livelihood and feelings of marginalization and silent ecological war rages across the southern (Niger delta) part of the country today. It is now a matter of struggle for the national cake, but did anyone care that cake are baked in oven (in fierce heat)? The oven is located at the heart of the Niger delta. They suffer the heat. It's a peculiar heat, it burns all aquatic life, it burns the land/soil, it burns the air. Reducing life span of almost everything. They die to keep the soul of Nigeria economy running. Now, there sons and daughters are there. Any difference?? Hell no. Its like the story of the hungry vulture in the desert -- they keep hope alive but hope never live. What killed hope?? Is it selfishness and greed, corruption, lack of sincere leaders, lack of true patriots with honest democratic principle, lack of vision, how strong is the 'one Nigeria's' foundation to accommodate our questionable marriage and diversity ![]() ![]() ![]() ?? I leave that for you to judge.GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!! |

zendy: 1025:SO WRONG MY FRIENDS. Ojukwu got it all wrong. In the first place, what was Ojukwu's plan with the South South and South - West before going to war with Nigeria. What was his plan for the entire East - Igbo. I can tell you from all available facts that even some igbo elite were only conscripted into his Biafra war, were not taken to confidence, briefed for his tactical war plans or allowed to have a say on how to go about the war and win. All he needs to win the war was to create strong ties with the West (Awolowo) and at least captured Lagos. But no, he was so angry and in a hast that he can not wait for the Yorubas and the Niger Delta. Hence the failure and defeat. He never carried them along but wanted them to fight/defend for what they know nothing about. One person alone cannot plan, fight and win war without allies (especially a civil war as it were). Ken Saro wiwa believed in the oneness of Nigeria, fought to defend its unity. Same with Awolowo. They were not a traitor or betrayers. Ojukwu disrespected elders advice from Awolowo and co. How then do you expect the same people to support him ??Ken Saro Wiwa in his none violent quest to righting the wrongs of inequality, marginalization, ecological war, environmental degradation, pollution of air and waters, constant oil spillage, destruction of the eco system, etc, he sell the idea to the entire people of Ogoni to have a platform called MOSOP - Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People. He coordinated their efforts, sought for international support. But Gen. Abacha was bent on destroying anything that would interrupt his petro-dollar. Ogoni oil have been locked up since 1993 till date. They might not have achieved much but they're perfect example of how we need to take our destiny into our hands. And achieve it none violently even in the face of increasing intimidation. LIVE ON, KEN SARO WIWA LONG LIVE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA!!! |

Nonsensical pieces of nonsense!!! The success of marriage is not how rosy your dating was, how many years you were a virgin before marriage, how colorful your wedding was, how many times supposedly "an angel" took you to "heaven" just because you are a virgin and God want you (a born again Christian) to marry a Muslim or Christian-to-be, and how many visions you see about your husband-to-be. Marriage is a practical ground where (marriage) theories are questioned and the twinkle twinkle little star you tell as story above are put to real test. A successful marriage that worth emulation is staying three years or more after your wedding without a child and still hold hand with your (God given) husband without an itch, or celebrate your tenths anniversary without thinking whether he was really the will of God for you or whether the visions was really from God........ may it never be your case, amen. To me ooh, this story looks fake and if its true, then it very very very early to rejoice over the wind while you're still on the palm tree. |

I hope and pray that the author will not be assassinated like they did to Walter Rodney - How Europe underdeveloped Africa. @op, please what is the name/title of this great book and where can I find it?? |
Allohrandy:@POST, You can make your argument without insult. Maybe that's how you were brought up - to be violent, aggressive or to force your opinion on people. It could also be as a result of the psychological effects of loosing a close relative or property/displacement to boko haram. Please take heart. We understand your pain. None of us is happy too. However, in concrete terms, can you be honest to yourself and tell all nairalanders what drastic measures taken so far by governors in the North, arewas in the North, political big wig from the North, former presidents and head of state from the North, youth from the North, elders' state men and women from the North and traditional rulers from the North to end this insurgency. You may just list them, then let start from there. Waiting. Thank you. |

Chigold101:Thumbs up bro, Our Northern elite created boko haram to make Nigeria 'Ungovernable' for president Jonathan before shakau hijacked it. And now they're crying, expecting Jonathan to turned commando or Rambo overnight and rescue them when they have the key to rescue themselves. Even if am a Northerner and my community is amongst those ruled by boko haram that does not cloud my sense of sound patriotic judgment or make me bias, sentimental and unnecessarily myopic in my reasoning. So president Jonathan should stop his executive functions, sit down and be crying. How would that change anything ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ?? |

grinface98:Thanks bro. Modified, thumbstake ![]() BUT SERIOUSLY, the attitude and mindset of Nigerians need to change towards political office holders or elected officials and our leaders if we must achieve this in Nigeria. I witnessed a situation in Nigeria where a sitting president send his younger sister parking from the presidential resident (villa), and had serious trouble with his wife for using his name/office to accept gifts, gratifications, contracts from individuals, companies, party leaders, etc, and for an unholy political romance with some governors and state party leaders. This family issue brought in royal fathers, political big wig and elders from the region to settle. They told him (the president) that THIS IS OUR TIME. And you know they say blood is ticker than water. How can Nigerian citizens fight corruption this way and still complained about leaders ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
