HeavenlyBang: Not an easy road. I think you'll have to run Lagos to Asaba, which is well known. Then Asaba to Abakaliki. Asaba to Awka is mostly ok, especially if you take the old road.
Awka to Enugu ranges from good to ok, depending on the side you follow.
If you can do Lagos to Asaba with your car, I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to do the rest.
No idea about Enugu to Abakaliki. Cool...thanks for this. |

seanfer: Get all your papers updated, if your car is tinted please make sure you have a valid permit, if this is your first time going on this journey alone please make sure you are not overspeeding because there are some deep port holes on the road, between ondo and Edo state you will encounter over 25 check points some will just ask for your papers while majority will ask you to find them something i will advise have 100 and 200 naira notes totaling about 3k to 5k. follow commercial buses and make sure your Google Map is also available... Pray the day you will travel there won't be much traffic at the Niger bridge head.. And also don't park anyhow in any of the cities so that the Agberos won't use you chop.... Safe Journey Awesome...thanks. I will most likely stick to Google all through the way. Hopefully, I might get a friend who is a bit familiar with the roads to accompany me. But either way Google will be my friend. I hope not to jam too much traffic on that day. I will also hold some naira notes too. As for the papers, I need to recheck these. I have non-factory tint and I have a tinted permit already. I learnt that I will also need a doctor's report as well. Don't know how true that is cos I have never been asked that so far. But I am already processing one sha to ensure I don't get delayed unnecessarily. |

dicksonadams: Do your maintenance, check fluid level, let your mechanic check your suspension, if he certify them as OK... Why not if not Thanks for your advise. I'm already checking the legs & suspensions. I will check the fluids afterwards or as soon as the ban is lifted. |

9icetoo: Lagos to Asaba is the usual. The big pot holes were patched when I travelled during the Xmas period. Drivable, nothing the EOD can't handle. From asaba to Onitsha is a breeze. Watch out for cars making left turns or coming from your left. Drive gently. Onitsha to Awka is also fairly smooth. If you want to avoid bad roads, follow the Awka to enugu old road. It will take you through Nkpor, ogidi, ogbunike, umudioka, Abagana, enugwu ukwu to Amawbia. Continue on the Awka to enugu old road. There is a right turn along the Awka to enugu old road that will take you to enugu -port Harcourt expressway way. It's a twisting and winding road. There are bumps on this road so drive with care. Nothing the EOD can't handle. From this point on, it's a smooth drive to abakaliki. This enugu-ph road will take you to nnpc mega station at enugu and a right turn from the mega station will take you straight to abakaliki. Your EOD will be fine. Thanks. I appreciate this. |

Sorry to derail the thread.
From reading some of posts here I have an impression that there are many interstate travelers in here.
Please, I will be embarking on a road trip from Lagos to Abakaliki after the interstate movement ban is lifted. I wish to know how the road is cos I will be driving down. Will it be wise to drive Honda EOD for this trip? |

Philadelphia: The C class (W202) was produced between 1993 and 2001 (SW only extended till 2001). There's never a 1992 C280. 1992 was the 190 which is code-named w201. I meant 1994 jare...error Lol modifiedYou see....i still don't know much about benz. |

Theconglomerate: Not true. If you buy a badly used mercedes, forget it. You will spend purchase money in keeping the relic on the road. I advise people not to buy used cars at all if possible, especially Nigeria used. You're right...however, this is where due diligence comes in. I once bought a 9ja used 1994 C280 thinking it was a 1999 C180 . I know very little about Benz then...when I got to know it was a 1994 (and a C280 for that matter) it was already too late. It was a bad buy, fuel consumption was above my grade mehn and I spent lots of doe to keep it afloat. Eventually, I had to scrap the ride. Anyways...anyone considering Benz 9ja used should know what he/she is doing Ooo... know about the car and do thorough check while inspecting! |
