Besides, a lot are considered when dishing out the award and not necessarily goals scored but your input on the team's general play.

Every great player has their partners; Pele, Maradona, Messi, Cruyff, Ronaldinho just to name a few. It's normal for a player to have a partner that supports and that is why football is a team game even though some people prove to be far more talented than others and therefore take games to their opponents.

The mistake most of you guys make is that you take into account just the champions league, whereas this award cuts across your performances all through the season including league matches, cups and of course champions league.

What exactly was the exeptional role Lewy played to warrant him being among the top 3? I do agree he did very well last season but does that mean he outshined Messi to be worthy of being among the top 3? Never! Not in thiz lifetime.
