Religion / Re: Testimonies Are Welcome Here From Christians Only. by DMD(m): 9:22am On Oct 18, 2011
I wish to thank God, first of all, for the inspiration given to the initiators of this thread. This will really go a long way in edifying and glorifying God almighty.

Having said that, my testimony is an every day thing. For a long time now, I have discovered that I have never been stranded and can never be, due to divine provision for my life. More over, I have recently discovered that I no longer fall sick as I used to. Now I found that even if the symptoms are very glaring and that would have necessitated my going to see a doctor or buy drugs, but just by offering a simple prayer and insisting on divine healing, the symptoms would vanish and never appear again - divine health.

Besides, one of the greatest testimonies of my life was when satan said that my services were no longer needed at my place of work - without any justifiable reasons. On that day, my boss called me and some other 3 colleagues and announced to us that he was relieving of our appointments. And in the night, I went into praises. 2 days after I was called back by the same boss who said I was not needed. Till date, the other are yet to be called back. God is faithful and His mercies are forever.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: To Attend An Interview With Ideaedge Consulting Over Neiti Job Application by DMD(m): 4:28pm On Oct 15, 2009
Faithdaves, of course, you should expect questions like telling the panel about you, your job experience and academic background.

More so, ensure that you are very much at home with the content of your CV as well as the profile/expectations of the position you applied for. Apart from several questions arising from those areas, they will ask you what you earn at the moment and what you would like to take.

Finally, they will ask you how soon you will be available to resume, and thereafter tell you that you will hear from them. Good luck.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: To Attend An Interview With Ideaedge Consulting Over Neiti Job Application by DMD(m): 1:54pm On Oct 15, 2009
Thanks everyone for you responses.

I later got another text from them changing the venue of the interview to NEITI Secretariat, which now prompted me to attend. I did attend and the interview went fine. I actually applied as Petroleum Analyst.

Thanks once again.

Jobs/Vacancies / To Attend An Interview With Ideaedge Consulting Over Neiti Job Application by DMD(m): 12:00pm On Oct 06, 2009
Following a text message that I received from Ideaedge Consulting Ltd (following a job application I made earlier in June 2009 to the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative - NEITI), inviting me to Protea Hotel, Asokoro, Abuja, for an interview session, I wish to seek your views regarding the authenticity of the text.

My request is based on the fact that the phone number (09-2902545) provided in the text message (for further inquiries) has not been going through ever since, and the web address of Ideaedge Consulting cannot be found. More so, the interview is scheduled for 7pm, October 12 (an hour I consider odd for such an exercise.

Please, I live in Lagos and I need you to kindly assist me with your responses so as to ascertain the true position of things and perhaps make arrangements for my travel and accommodation.

Career / Re: My Best Friend Just Lost Her Job. by DMD(m): 8:57am On Sep 07, 2009
How did your friend do over the weekend? I just read through the posts this morning and i have heard the comments of all. I want to tell you however that there is a bank i know she can drop her cv and will be invited for a test in a short while, well that is just in case she doesnt mind still working in a bank. My bank does not give targets and the requirement is strictly 2.1 or 1st class. as a matter of fact, that is one of the reasons why i was asking about her grade. Note that i am not making any guarantee but only giving one additional advice piece like others. I may not be able to give details of the place as that is where i work and i have official reasons thereto. the way i am giving you this advice was how i was once given the advice. you can hit me through my email on my profile for further details i will give you which i cant post here due to its confidentiality. however, i will only be able to read the mails by weekend cos we are banned from public mails. alternatively, post your email and i will send you my phone number so you can call me. but pls i really may not be able to read till weekend. i only check my phone for urgent mails, else, weekend. so it's up to you if you are okay with that, but like i said, i am not making any guarantees. i do not own the bank but can only give her some help which outsiders cannot have access to.

Thank you lestalk for offering to help. In all, I would like to tell her to remain assured that God will definitely give her a job soon.
Politics / Re: Is Clinton Really Unfair To Efcc? by DMD(m): 1:33pm On Aug 14, 2009
I want to say that she was very fair with EFCC.
This is based on the fact that with the exit of Ribadu, the EFCC has become a lame dock. It has virtually relegated much of its basic functions to the background. Today, most of the indited persons (politicians in particular) by Ribadu-led EFCC are working free on our streets.what a shame!

Only if all the oppressed people of Nigeria can deliberately come together and organize themselves by embarking on days of fasting and prayer for God to deliver this country out the hands of these few oppressors.

Fears over NESG and the 15th Nigerian Economic Summit
The Guardian, Thursday, August 13, 2009

UNCERTAINTY is said to be hanging over the 15th Nigerian Economic Summit billed for between October 6 and 9, 2009.

The summit is organised yearly by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), a private sector think - tank set up to engage the Nigerian government in proffering solutions to her developmental challenges with a view to enabling the country emerge a modern globally competitive economy.

So far, 14 editions have been held since 1993, when Chief Ernest Shonekan as the head of the Interim National Government (ING) kicked off the first. But some stakeholders and concerned staff at the weekend expressed fears over this year's summit. They observed that barely two months to the summit, nothing was on ground to suggest that the NESG was serious about the programme this year.

The NESG Director-General, Mr. Frank Nweke Jnr. however, recently swiftly debunked the allegations levelled against him, saying, "who told you those lies? Anyway, I am going to investigate and find out. But I want to assure you that everything concerning the summit planning is on course. "Very shortly, we are going to inform the public about the plans and all the details that they should know. I am not granting you an interview anyway, because where I am now, I cannot speak with you for a long time. But I assure you we would speak later and I would brief you on all the preparations.''

The Board appoints the director-general of the NESG, which is the highest level of the private sector organ. Before Nweke Jr., there had been Prof. Anya O. Anya and Dr. Ahmed Mansur whom Nweke took over from.
Some stakeholders have pointed out that no organising committee was in place to engage the government on issues like the summit theme and sub-topics, as well as, resource persons that would make presentations at the yearly discussion forum.

Yet, another stakeholder close to the NESG alleged that the eight policy commissions set up by the previous management to tackle challenges and proffer solutions to specific sectors in the country had also not been meeting regularly. A stakeholder said, "there is palpable fear and doubts as to the successful hosting of the 15th Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) Forum this year. The Summit is billed for October 6 to 9. But as we speak, there is nothing on ground to suggest that the Summit is going to be held. No planning committee to drive the organisation of the summit. Even the policy commissions have stopped meeting."

The stakeholder continued, "as we speak, the summit has not got a theme, sub-topics and resource persons have neither been identified nor contacted. Yet, staff members have become disillusioned and are resigning. The Chief Accountant of the NESG has already turned in his own resignation and is leaving before the end of this month."
"The development poses very dangerous signals because of the critical role the NESG plays in agenda-setting in the country, especially in view of the Vision 202020 project,'' the stakeholder, who asked not to be mentioned finally submitted. The Guardian learnt that the Board of the NESG headed by Dr. Mao Nwaohunba will be meeting on Thursday.

My Dear Nairalanders, I have been a keen watcher of the Nigerian Economy, and it beats my imagination why the board of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) would appoint the so-called Fank Nweke to run the affairs of the NESG, having seen his terrible antecedents in Enugu State as ex Chief of Staff to former Governor Nnamani and as former Minister of information under Obasanjo's regime.

I have even gathered before now that he had run the secretariat of the NESG as his personal business and using every means possible to siphon money from what use to be "Nigeria's premier think-tank and research and advocacy institution." Your responses please!

My dear nairalanders, is it right for one to pray for jobs in two different establishments at the same time?. I would like to know if it is an indication of faithlessness, since God has said in his word that we should be firm in our belief and faith in all that we do. Please let me have your views.
Career / Re: I'm So Frustrated, Please, I Need Advice From You All. by DMD(m): 2:37pm On Apr 30, 2009
Do not give up dear. You will surely be visited some day soon by the Almighty. I was in a similar situation some years back. I hold a first degree in petroleum engineering (Nigeria) and taught in a secondary school for 6 good years before I could get another job. Even though what I doing now may not be the best of jobs, but atleast, I am making a career in my chosen field and hope to get to the pinnacle someday day.

Having said all of that, I wish to urge you to please keep searching and remain prayerful as well.

Good luck!

Her name is Jennifer Onwuneme, an ABU student then, whose parents were staying in Jos, though they are indigenes of Abia State. Please let her call Kevin on 08054753913. Please if any one of you knows her, please help me to reach her.

I would like those that are saying that First Bank pays higher to state how much they pay, because I know that Zenith Pays 1.6m per annum for entry level staff. This is the only way we can compare and contrast and be able to draw a reasonable conclusion. Good luck
