Yorubas really hate Igbos to astronomical levels danvon: This trend of allowing terrorist and criminals to go scot free due to optical-political considerations began with Aguiyi Ironsi not executing the Jan 14 coup plotters, then it extended to Gowon not executing the pogrom plotters, then it extended to the Federal Government pardoning and accepting the secessionist leaders and continued from there (Tompolo, Asari Dokubo etc)
But thanks to yesterdays ruling, its clear that the door has officially been shut. Terrorism will no longer be tolerated and Nnamdi Kanu case shall serve as precedence for all future trials involving terrorism and inciting hate speech.
Even now, many people havent come to terms with the ruling, they still believe there's a way out for him, this is the more reason why the door must stay firmly shut.
This is a sign of hope of proper trials in the future. |

Abacha never planned to release Obj. There was Providence. In Kanu’s case, there will be Providence owobokiri: This is to let all men of goodwill in different parts of the world know, that the federal government under President Bola Tinubu will never release Nnamdi Kanu without appropriate force and pressure being applied. This government will do anything to antagonise the South East and they already have most political leaders from the zone in the back as a result of "second term" politics.
It is very obvious that having Kanus head on a spike will be a very satisfying sight for a lot of people feom certain regions in this government.. This explains the whole efforts made to put Kanu away after denying him appropriate medical care. Events of the last few days should let every discerning mind know that the objectives of his captors are far more diabolical than the corruption media will let you believe.
Again, for all men of good conscience; do not listen to empty tales feom the avalanche of Eastern politicians who are going around pretending like they are in any sort of serious discussions with the federal government. Do not listen to Bianca Ojukwu too! Obviously she is so engrossed with the trappings and paraphernalia of power , so much so that she can not resign from a government that has tediously become anti igbo.
Do not buy into their narratives that suggest that Kanu will be released before the elections. That will not happen. They have taken him to Sokoto to systematically remove him from this sphere. It is a well coordinated plan by a set of reckless South West APC leaders who are looking for someone that should pay for what happened to MKO Abiola.
Unless urgent steps are taken to force the hands of this wayward government, this will end in a disaster. Kanu is not going to be released without a serious agitation. So let the agitation ms start in earnest.. |

Politics › Re: Nnamdi Kanu Case And Evidence by DMerciful(m): 11:58pm On Nov 21, 2025 |
Kanu was tried under a law that no longer exists because he is an Igbo man. They use Yorubas because of their natural hate for Igbos aribisala0: 1. **Terrorism Conviction**
* Convicted on all 7 terrorism-related counts. ([News Agency of Nigeria][1]) * Judge James Omotosho said the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. ([News Agency of Nigeria][1])
2. **Incitement to Violence**
* Court quoted his broadcasts where he “urged supporters to ambush security forces, seize their weapons, and carry out violent attacks.” ([The Telegraph Nigeria][2]) * In videos, he threatened “the slaughter will begin to happen … we are ready to die than be slaves … The army of Nigeria will die in Biafra land.” ([ThisDay Live][3])
3. **Separation / Secession Agitation**
* The court rejected his framing of the fight as legitimate self‑determination, calling his approach illegal under the constitution. ([The Telegraph Nigeria][2]) * Judge said his broadcasts showed intent to break away, calling his organization “unlawful.” ([Nigerian Daily Report][4])
4. **Organizing Armed Groups**
* The conviction includes incitement to violence and killing of security personnel, indicating coordination or encouragement of violent action. ([ThisDay Live][3]) * Prosecution argues his broadcasts fueled the violent acts by his followers. ([Nigerian Daily Report][4])
5. **Enforcing Sit-at-Home Orders**
* The court found he issued “sit‑at‑home” directives, especially in the southeast, and that these were broadcasted. ([ThisDay Live][3]) * The judge held that these orders “amount to nothing more than a terrorist act.” ([ThisDay Live][3])
6. **Hate Speech**
* In the judgment, the court refers to his broadcasts threatening security personnel and civilians in a way that suggests ethnicised violence. ([The Guardian][5]) * The court characterized some broadcasts as encouraging his followers to kill security officers. ([ThisDay Live][3])
7. **Defiance of Judicial Authority**
* Reports say Kanu “deliberately refused” to mount his defence. ([News Agency of Nigeria][1]) * During the sentencing, the court noted his “many misbehaviours” in court. ([Vanguard News][6])
8. **Encouraging Armed Struggle**
* The court cited his broadcasts teaching followers how to make explosives (“using fuel and bottles”). ([Vanguard News][7]) * Also, he made threats against public infrastructure (banks, police stations) in his speeches. ([ThisDay Live][3])
9. **Destabilizing National Unity**
* The judge explicitly ruled his self‑determination efforts outside the constitution were illegal, framing them as a threat to Nigeria’s unity. ([The Telegraph Nigeria][2]) * The court labeled him an “international terrorist” for his threats. ([The Telegraph Nigeria][2])
10. **Creating Civil Unrest**
* According to the judgment, his broadcasts and orders led to “the destruction of several properties, including police stations.” ([ThisDay Live][3]) * The court noted that due to his sit-at-home threats, many banks, markets, and churches were grounded. ([ThisDay Live][3])
11. **Paramilitary Leadership**
* While the court does not explicitly say “he commanded ESN,” it attributes killing of security personnel and violent attacks to his incitement via broadcasts. ([ThisDay Live][3]) * His role as “leader of a proscribed group (IPOB)” was affirmed by the court. ([ThisDay Live][3])
12. **Promoting Separatist Extremism**
* The judgment treats his agitation not as peaceful protest but as terrorism: “acts of terrorism … broadcast with intention to intimidate the population.” ([ThisDay Live][3]) * The judge compared his violence to that of extremist groups by using the label “international terrorist.” ([The Telegraph Nigeria][2])
13. **Manipulation of Followers**
* The court used his broadcast transcripts to show he intentionally incited ordinary citizens to weaponize. ([The Telegraph Nigeria][2]) * The judge found that his sit‑at‑home orders were “unconstitutional” and used to intimidate people. ([ThisDay Live][3])
14. **Disruption of Commerce**
* By his sit-at-home directives, many businesses (banks, markets, shops) closed or did not operate, according to prosecution testimonies. ([ThisDay Live][3]) * The judge specifically noted “intimidation” of merchants and churchgoers during his broadcasts. ([ThisDay Live][3])
15. **Intimidation of Dissenters**
* The court found that his broadcasts encouraged violence against security forces, which implies a mindset of suppression through force. ([ThisDay Live][3]) * Also, his leadership of a banned organization (IPOB) and his refusal to counter evidence could be interpreted as denying internal dissent, as he treated opposition or questions as threats. (Inferred from the judgment) ([Nigerian Daily Report][4])
16. **Inciting Ethnic Tensions**
* Some of his threats and broadcasts were in the context of ethnicized grievances (southeast, Biafra) and the court saw them as threatening Nigeria’s national cohesion. ([The Guardian][5]) * His “sit-at-home” threats were directed at populations in the Southeast, a region predominantly Igbo — the court saw this as part of a destabilizing ethnic separatist movement. ([ThisDay Live][3])
17. **Illegal Broadcast Equipment / Radio Transmitter**
* He was convicted of “illegal importation of a radio transmitter” (Count 7) used for Radio Biafra. ([The Nation][8]) * That transmitter was seized and described in court as “object of crime” and ordered forfeited. ([The Telegraph Nigeria][2])
18. **Extraordinary Rendition / Extradition Controversy**
* His return to Nigeria from Kenya was controversial; while not part of the conviction itself, it’s widely reported that he was “brought back to Nigeria after being arrested in Kenya.” ([Al Jazeera][9]) * In his trial, he argued that the “extraordinary rendition” invalidated the case; the court addressed but rejected this argument. ([News Agency of Nigeria][1])
19. **Court Contempt / Repeated Disruptive Behavior**
* The judgment and reports indicate he was removed from court for “unruly conduct.” ([The Guardian][5]) * The judge also described him as “cocky and arrogant,” noting repeated misbehaviour. ([Vanguard News][6])
20. **Undermining Rule of Law / Persistent Threat to Peace**
* By using his broadcasts to incite violence, order stay-at-home, and push for secession, the court held that he used terrorism as a “weapon to terrorise people.” ([News Agency of Nigeria][1]) * Omotosho deemed him an “international terrorist” whose actions destroyed lives, property, and undermined national security. ([The Telegraph Nigeria][2])

Kanu's conviction and sentencing was a travesty of justice. It is the manifestation of the natural hatred the Yorubas have for Igbos that the Nigerian State relied on! However, know that unity cannot be forced. malali: Nnamdi Kanu spat in the eyes of the North and South West and deceived his fellow South East with his inciteful, derogatory, insulting and denigrating Radio Biafra broadcasts.
Targeted, harassed and killed Northerners in the SE. Attacked their food & livestock trucks, culminating in the cold-blooded murders of Late Huraira and her innocent kids, Ahmed Gulak, the military couple that were butchered and killed in the most mind-bending, eyesore way, among thousands of other killings of his own kinsmen and other innocent Nigerians.
Masterminded the Owerri Prison jailbreak, releasing over 1,000 convicted killers, kidnappers, cannibals and all sort of criminals into Iboland, damaging the economy of the region and ingraining an atmosphere of siege and total insecurity.
Repeatedly insulted and harassed Late President Buhari (who lured, captured and caged him in the most legendary manner) and wished destruction on the present President Tinubu's life & properties. Called for the destruction of Lagos and had his minions carry it out with razor-sharp efficacy.
Today the uncouth, unhinged terrorist faces the consequences of his madness; to which he has reacted like a lily-livered coward with howling and panic-driven trepidation.
This is true justice for the thousands killed, maimed and butchered because of the madness of the terrorist Nnamdi Kanu. This is wishing a similar fate befalls ALL terrorists that have blood of innocent Nigerians on their hands, in the East, North, West & South. Goodbye, Kanu; and I hope generations after you will learn from the tragedy of history you were, a dark blight on humanity. |

Kanu was freed by the court of appeal. Why send the case to a lower court? Because they don't like the outcome at the court of appeal? Apogee14: That's the thing with igbo people, there is this need to impress and show out. This need to prove you are a brave warrior. Which is very unfortunate because while he did get to get his rocks off in his actions that he exhibited but yet no sane human being will free a man who looks and appears unhinged And unrepentant but yet it was more important to him to put on this show of bravado and warrior, a very corny show if I might add, it was more important for him to get his rocks off putting on this corny display than to appear quiet peaceful and remorseful. They would have let him go Scott free if he appeared very remorseful. You know black people are bleeding hearts. They will just be begging for him and askibg that they should release him. But with his actions and demeanor it's looking like he is ready to start the revolution again once he is released. It's hard to release a man like that. The judge had no choice. He presents like a dangerous man still. He should have gone there begging and grovelling and he would be a free man now. It appears he himself does not want to leave the facility. Yes, the court says it acted based on the charges, but the truth is that this goes far beyond legal arguments, it touches real emotions, long-standing history, and the genuine frustrations many people in the Southeast have lived with for years.
What makes this even more sensitive is the clear imbalance Nigerians keep noticing. We’ve seen convicted terrorists in other regions receive lighter sentences or be branded “repentant,” while cases linked to the Southeast seem to attract the strictest punishments. For a region that already feels marginalized, this only strengthens the belief that they’re not treated the same as others.
And this concern isn’t just limited to the Southeast, many Nigerians can see the inconsistency, and it’s part of why trust in the system keeps dropping.
Personally, I think this moment calls for calm and honest dialogue. A heavy sentence alone won’t address the deeper issues behind all of this. Nigeria needs fairness, unity, and sincere engagement, not decisions that risk widening an already existing divide. |
