Blackmailer-in-chief BIC
Celestialsword:
One of Nigeria’s fiercest opposition voices, Omoyele Sowore, in this interview opens up on the Tinubu administration, the death of democratic ideals, the collapse of opposition politics, and why he doesn’t believe in elections.

Sowore also explains why he wouldn’t align with Labour Party or Peter Obi, and what Nigerians must do before 2027.
Excerpts:

What are your thoughts on the Tinubu-led government as we approach another Democracy Day?

My position on this government is not a thought—it’s a clear stance I’ve held long before the 2023 elections. Nigerians made a grave mistake voting Bola Tinubu into office. I said it before, and I’ll say it again: when Tinubu is done with this country, Nigerians will be begging to return to Buhari’s era. He has done irreparable damage—economically, socially, politically. He has crippled institutions, education, and democracy. Buhari killed Nigeria in eight years; Tinubu came, in two years he is burying it.

So, you don’t think there’s anything to celebrate on this Democracy Day?
Nothing. In fact, what Nigerians are whispering—dangerously—is that they no longer believe in democracy. The promises of democracy—free speech, credible elections, freedom to choose—have been destroyed. Today, people celebrate military dictators just to express their frustration. But to be clear, I don’t support military rules. What we have now is a shambolic democracy. We’ve been taken on a roller coaster ride by both military and civilian rulers.

The House of Representatives is proposing a law to make voting compulsory. Are you ready to stand against this law if it passes?
If you have to use threats to force people to vote, then democracy is dead. Democracy is about choice. You cannot force people to participate in a system they no longer believe in. That proposal is not about participation; it’s about forced legitimacy. They’re panicking because fewer people are voting, so they want to cook up numbers and call it turnout. The people making these laws already know I will stand against them. But they also know the law is not enforceable. You can’t force people to vote when you haven’t fixed the electoral process.

Some Nigerians describe you as too radical and uncompromising. What’s your response?

I don’t think I’m radical enough. People who say that haven’t studied history. Every meaningful change in this world came through so-called radicals. I will not water down my convictions to please those who want me to fit into a box. The louder voices online don’t represent the majority of Nigerians. Those who truly suffer in this country know what I stand for—and they agree.

Has the Revolution Now movement died down?
Not at all. Revolutions take time. The French Revolution took over 10 years. The American Revolution, Cuban, Chinese revolutions all took time. You don’t judge a revolution by how loud it is. You judge it by how persistent the message is.

Your campaign against the IGP—how far have you gone with it?
It has achieved results. Over 1,000 illegally retained senior police officers have been forced out. Police officers who haven’t been promoted in 20 years are now getting promoted. It has created a shift. But the ultimate goal is to get the IGP to resign—he’s overstayed. We haven’t given up.

There’s concern that the opposition voice is dying. What’s your view?

That’s because what you call opposition isn’t opposition. Most of them are former APC or PDP members. They share the same ideology—or lack of one. Real opposition means clear ideological difference. What we have are political mercenaries looking for the best-paying camp.

Are you saying there’s no true opposition?
Exactly. Most of these defections are transactional. They’re not about values or service. If you dig deeper, you’ll realise they’re just fighting over how to share the loot, not about how to serve the people.

Are you running in 2027?
I get this question a lot. My answer remains the same: I’ve never stopped running. Whether it’s a campaign, a protest, a court battle—I’m always running for something. But if you’re asking about elections, I don’t believe in the current ballot system. The 2027 results are already written. The only thing that can change Nigeria is rebellion against the system, against another sham election, not against democracy, anyway..

But can rebellion work without alliances?
The alliance I care about is with the oppressed. They are the real majority. The 50 million registered voters who don’t vote—they’re my alliance. Not transactional coalitions built to chase power and money.

Let’s talk about Atiku. Is he still relevant in Nigerian politics?
Atiku is a man whose time has passed. But he’s still hanging around, hoping to be President. That’s all he cares about. Everything else is irrelevant to him.

Some Nigerians believe Tinubu is laying foundations for a better Nigeria. What do you say to that?
They are being deceived. There’s nothing good coming from this. Removing fuel subsidy, floating the naira—none of it benefits ordinary people. The naira is still collapsing. Prices are rising. If they say this is the “hard road to prosperity”, I say it’s a road to destruction.

PoliticsRe: Southern Youths Back Tinubu's 2027 Bid by DMerciful(m): 6:26am On May 24, 2025
Why are these guys deceiving Amoda?
coputa:
A coalition of youth groups from Southern Nigeria has launched a campaign backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, asserting that four years is insufficient for the president to entrench his reforms and tackle entrenched corruption.

The Coalition Of Southern Nigeria Youths Groups For Asiwaju 2027 (COSONYGA-2027) made the declaration on Friday during its official launch in Abuja.

Addressing journalists, the group’s Executive Director, Rt. Hon. Rikki Nwajiofor, praised Tinubu’s leadership as “policy-backed, action-driven, and results-oriented,” saying his Renewed Hope Agenda has laid a foundation for a modern Nigeria.

“A four-year tenure is not enough to entrench life-changing policies and uproot the stenching corrupt practices that have held our great nation backwards,” Nwajiofor said.

He described the coalition as a youth-led movement committed to continuity and inclusive progress, urging young people across the southern states to rally behind the president’s second term bid.

“This Coalition is our pledge, our declaration, and our commitment to continuity and youth-driven progress. We are not waiting for the future — we are building it,” he declared.

COSONYGA-2027 said its mission extends beyond politics, positioning itself as a strategic platform for civic education, youth empowerment, and grassroots mobilisation.

“We called on stakeholders in the public and private sectors, civil society, and development partners to support efforts aimed at deepening political education and boosting youth entrepreneurship.

“We invite all progressive-minded youths across Southern Nigeria and beyond to join this movement — to organise, to educate, and to advocate. This is our time,” Nwajiofor added.

The coalition said it will leverage digital advocacy, grassroots engagement, and strategic policy interventions to secure robust youth participation in the 2027 electoral process.

Nwajiofor emphasised that the movement will remain non-confrontational and inclusive, rejecting tribal and religious polarisation while championing Tinubu’s achievements through “superior presentation of facts.”

“Today, we are not just launching a group — we are igniting a movement. A movement built on vision, legacy, and continuity,” he said .

Tinubu did not increase their allocation by 300%, stop spreading misinformation. Its not even up to 200% however he has reduced the value by over 300%
Britishpea:
Endorsing him means they want him to continue. Tinubu has increased the allocations of the governors to about 300% and National Assembly members each earns nothing less than 1B for constituency project. They earn way more than they have ever been since 1999

So who else should endorse the president for a second term if not them!

Are they not the coordinators of the votes during elections? 90% of those complainants don’t go out to vote!

SW votes will be split. Obi will win Lagos with a bigger margin
Jokay07:
Relax
With the coalition coming up, I think the battle ground has been shifted from the north to the south but here is my projection.
With North west and North East, the votes will be splited and the winning margin will be very minimal.
The north Central, I think Apc might win even with a very little margin.
Sure, the south east votes is locked down for Obi while the south West votes is for Tinubu.
Now, south south votes are going for Obi then again, Tinubu will get more votes in the south south in 2027 than what he got in 2023.

Count South South and South East out of your South
helinues:
Whatever coalition can't produce more than Atiku and Peter Obi.

Atiku can't be vice president again as he already served 8 years meaning Peter Obi can't be the presidential candidate of the coalition.

If the acclaimed savior to save Nigeria won't be able to vie as the presidential candidate, it would be a turn off to most especially the people in the southern region to vote for the coalition when a southerner would be seeking reelection.

As for the Northerners, those of them who know real politics are preparing for 2031 because no presidential candidates can serve one term.
PoliticsRe: 2027: This Is The Only Way To Defeat Tinubu Even If He Makes Himself INEC Chair by DMerciful(m): 4:57pm On May 21, 2025
Obi has to be the presidential candidate of the coalition. Any other thing is dead on arrival
franchasng:
Tinubu must not continue to answer Nigeria's President in 2027. All well meaning Nigerians must come together to stop Bola Tinubu in 2027 or Nigeria will risk becoming Sudan and Libya combined, this is not a joke.

And for Igbos, there is no going back on aligning fully with Atiku/North to oust Tinubu in 2027. All Igbos must work together to deliver Atiku at all cost. Igbos should declare their support for Atiku now.....Tinubu already showed his hatred for Igbos through his lopsided appointments and bias handling of Southeast affairs, including Nnamdi Kanu's case.

Nobody can deny the truth that Atiku loves Igbos.

Nobody can deny the truth that Tinubu does not like Igbos.

Tinubu has shown his disdain for Igbos for the whole world to see.

If Igbos refuse to work with Atiku to end Bola Tinubu's misrule, then Igbos should not blame anybody.

In Nigeria, for anyone to become President, two major tribes from Northern part and Southern part must work together to support that Presidential candidate; its either Hausa-Fulanis + Igbos or Hausa-Fulanis + Yorubas.

Tinubu understood this mathematics and he used it against Goodluck Jonathan by carrying the whole Yorubas to align with Buhari even when they know Buhari is a disaster waiting to happen.

So Igbos must play the same dirty game.....Peter Obi even though I know you are more than competent and capable, the reality of Nigeria's dirty politics is that you must stoop too low to conquer....so please dear Igbos...beg Peter Obi to not contest in 2027 or let him align with Atiku as his running mate.....Tinubu wanted to do it with Buhari but Buhari refused because of their Moslem Moslem religion.

Peter Obi should deputize Atiku......but the whole North must show seriousness in working seriously with Atiku and not allow Tinubu's dollar and vain political promises to sway them from working with Atiku.

This is the only way forward in 2027: ATIKU/OBI vs TINUBU/SHETTIMA

Politicians are human beings too with feeling and emotions.

The open rebellion of PDP members against the Party, especially from Southern members, may actually be driven by anger against the dishonorable conduct of Atiku and his fellow Fulanis against the wishes of Southerners in the Party rather than unruly or indisciplined behaviour.
