Thank you very much for the timely response sir, I really appreciate.
The last time I checked my BP, it was 131/85... but the thing is, I still experience palpitations. I may be sleeping now, I will just suddenly wake up, and my heart will be palpitating for no reason.
This particular doctor I've been visiting is not even interested in investigating what is causing my HBP, he just dismissed it as a family history. Maybe or maybe not. I feel that my brain send unnecessary fear signal to my body. Seriously, I'm confused.
I definitely understand your disappointment. Most patients expect a level of empathy from their doctors that's most often lacking. Truth is, a doctor is just one person with a tonne of patients, most with worse conditions than yours. The empathy gets too small to go round..Lol

I have a special interest with high blood pressure cos 7 years ago, my BP rose to as high as 260/155. From my numbers you can see my diastolic , which is the second unit that is measured when the heart is at rest during heartbeats, is higher than your systolic. My BP is now stable at 106/67. Story for another day..

I could tell you one thing..You biggest problem is anxiety borne from over worrying about your health condition, which to me is in good shape..Despite the generally accepted figure of Less than 120/80, if your BP falls below 135/85 it's just as good. That's especially true for blacks who naturally retain alot of salt. That's why a diuretic is always a good first line for Africans with hypertension...Diuretics make you urinate a lot, consequently releasing excess sodium which is most times responsible for high BP..

I agree with you doctor that your high BP is essential hypertension, borne from family History.. Secondary hypertension comes with extremely higher numbers, that's associated with other symptoms..

Back to anxiety. The more you worry the more stress you get, causing your body to release cortisol. A stress hormone that in turns tighten your arteries to raise your blood pressure. From my accesments, your blood pressure is falling and within an acceptable margin. I would advice you worry less and see it fall even more..

Your palpitations could be tied to side effects of the Amlodopine + the unnecessary worry you let your body go through. Remedy: Drink plenty of water along the day. Stick to atleast two and half bottles of water daily. Cut down on salt. Eat plenty of fruits and veggies. Make carrots, bananas, oranges, apples your friend..

Like I advised yesterday, get your own electronic blood pressure monitor. Omron is a good mark though expensive..With your own blood pressure monitor you would be able to gauge the true value and progress of your BP treatment..

Good evening, doc.

For more than a month, I have been taking Amlodipine. Eve though the bp has gone down a bit, my pulse is always high anytime I'm around in the hospital. It's like something is wrong with my brain. I become anxious easily.

The doctor of the private hospital I've been visiting has prescribed another drug (Bisoprolol). However, the reviews I've read about the drug is not so encouraging. What do you advise sir?
Even the reviews of water online could prevent you from drinking water..Lol Bisoprolol is a beta blocker that lowers your heart rate, consequently allowing your heart to pump blood more efficiently..Like most antihypertensives it comes with side effects although not everyone gets them.

What's your new blood pressure? Is it lesser than 130/85? Do you have a blood pressure monitor at home? The increase in pulse while at the hospital is tied to white coat syndrome. A fear and anxiety that stems from the uncertainty of your hospital visit..

Before initiating Bisoprolol, I would advice you get a home monitor to measure your BP consistently at home, to get a better idea of its true state without the excess adrenaline rush, that could push it up at the hospital..

In my opinion and personal experience, the Bisoprolol is totally unnecessary if it's just for a shoot in pulse while you at the hospital..
Music/RadioRe: Life & Times Of Jim Reeves(August 20, 1923 – July 31, 1964); by DoctorAyukebot(m):
Arguably the best country artist of all time. His music was extremely popular in Asia and Africa in the decades after his death. Most of his comtemporary Christian albums defined our Sunday mornings in the eighties. Tunes like "This world is not my own" "Take My Hands Precious Lord" "We Thank Thee and Where we'll never grow old" were inspirational christian hits that brouhgt a peaceful feeling of a good God..

His other contemporary songs like "Stand by your windows at night" "Bimbo" and "But you Love me Daddy" released in the 50's still resonates in 2024 when you want to be loss in nostalgia

If you don't want to hear the word of God by speakers, since this world is controlled by it's prince for now, then you will hear it by morning cry, bus evangelism, house to house evangelism, social media evangelism.

Like Jesus said,Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
Wuna way di put deh speaker for preach the word are you keeping the word. It's not about hearing the word. It's about hearing and doing. In my experience most churches are made up of morally bankrupt persons..

I am totally disgruntled with the teachings of many fake pastors that is centered around deceit to milk their short sighted followers. However to slump aside Christianity for Islam is a no no. I would rather the financial deceit from pastors than the violence, killings and brainwashing of Muslim extremists..

Ignoramus. The world doesn't rotate around Igbo culture. One can still be deaf and beautiful...It's a beauty pageant and not a hearing contest..

But after all the noise they crowned a whitie. Nelson Mandela must be proud of them
Yes very proud cos he clamored for an inclusive society. He had a good reason to let South Africa burn but he chose a path of healing, forgiveness and inclusiveness..
HealthThe Super Amazing Medicinal Benefits Of The Black Jack Plant by DoctorAyukebot(op): 1:26pm On Aug 11, 2024
For most people the Black Jack plant is an annoying weed, that grows fast to overshadow their crops. For others, their black seed is a weapon fashion against their clothing, when they use a bush path. As kids we attached the green empty holder of the seeds to our eye lash for playful amusement...

If you have been attacked before by the elongated black seeds of the black jack, it takes patience to pull them out from their hold on fabric. That though is their biggest mode of dispersal to propagate..

Widespread across the globe, but more so in the tropics where the heat serves for rapid reproduction, the black jack is now finding its place in the archives of scientific herbal medicine.

In Zimbabwe where it is known as Mutsine, the black jack is a nutritive vegetable and a part of a healthy cuisine, that extends to other countries of Southern Africa..

Packed with over 200 compounds it is extremely rich in Vitamin A and C, Fibers and Flavonoids, which gives it a both nutritive and medicinal value.

In Cameroon, Brazil and Venezuela, the liquid from the leaves serves as a potent astringent for healing of wounds..

Scientific research on its different parts now places the black jack as a potent medicinal source for hypertension, malaria, diabetes, diarrhea, Arthritis, Migraine, Cancer and Skin Care..

Instead of pulling off to rubbish the black jack from your farmland, turn it into a tea to reap of its amazing medicinal value...

I don't think any father would celebrate the loss of a son, not even if that son was a reincarnation of Anini. Duru is a media personality and his announcement for the most part calms the rumours that could swirl in such instances..

From his write up I wouldn't say it was a brief ailment. Looks like the little champ battled for a while before giving up. May God give Duru and his family the fortitude to sail through this time of pain.. RIP

Are you guys okay? You have every right to live your life as you deem fit but as long as it has a negative impact on your community/society that's where the line is drawn.

Why are there various agencies that are there to make sure that society adhere to certain rules? Why do you think those agencies are doing that? Some of you just support rubbish just to sound woke without applying common sense and logic to a discuss. What a waste.
Are you guys OK is the rhetorical question that should be shot back at you. How does Bob's lifestyle affects your erection at night? Is he breaking any laws of the land? Arguably no.

Would I want my son to be like Bob? Definitely not. Would I sacrifice him on the alter if he did turn out like Bob, definitely not.

Bob made his choice, one that doesn't break the law, give him a break and stop the "you people" holier than thou attitude..In Nigeria even a murderer and rapists think's he is morally upright to Bob.
