Music/Radio › In Ur Opinion, Who Is The Greatest Artist The World Ever Produced? by DOD1(op): 1:22pm On Jan 20, 2013
I revisited some of michael jackson's video this morning with the aim of doing other things while it plays, but amazingly, I still find it charming that I stayed glued to the screen. And I wonder, is there any other artist one can say is greater than michael considering the impact he made on youngsters and his fan around the world, the number of crowd he ever pulled n his dance that compares to none, amidst other things.
What's ur take on this?

Politics › Re: Malian Rebels Seen In Nigeria - Army Chief by DOD1:
Each time I hear stuff like this, I can't stop but wonder how the african borders/countries are so vulnerable. First it was a fallout from libya to mali n some other countries n now from mali to naija. My question is: how were this terrorists able to move those many sophisticated weapons from libya to mali, so much so that the entire malian army is not in good shape enough to confront them alone, I mean didn't they cross borders? Now they have entered naija, did they enter empty handed or with weapons? I'm sure with weapons, n I ask again, did they come in through the bush-path or the border? Smh
Your conclusion about men being ''visual'' is wrong.'Cos as against what you were insinuating, men will not go for a physically endowed girl at the expense of one who can cook and has a good character(providing she's not effing ugly).Likewise,a lady won't go for a ugly but caring guy.Unless money is the factor that is actually attracting such a girl.Overall,I think striking a balance is all that matters
Crime › Can It Ever Be Possible In Nigeria That The Police Will Stop Carrying Gun About? by DOD1(op): 8:13am On Jan 11, 2013
I've seen a west african country where their police never go about with guns, not even for once. You won't even sight any inside their police station. Mind you, I'm talking about a country I know very well and have observed for several years, although the population is far low and the country much smaller compare to nigeria. Any nigerian who has been to this country would know the country I'm talking about. Now I wonder, can this ever happen in nigeria, that the police will make arrest on the street without a gun and the person is not attempting to run away?

Romance › Re: Why Do Nigerians Prefer To Marry The Rich? by DOD1: 9:09am On Dec 28, 2012
vivian chinaza: I'm from a very humble background or should I say poor? Yea poor sounds like it, "humble" just makes it bearable, Lol, ok. But rich guys keep coming for me, and no one has ever cared about my family's financial/social status. In fact, that's the first thing I tell them, I'm always like "dear, don't let my looks deceive you, I'm from a very humble background o." I'm Vivian, and that should be enough!
So contrary to your opinion, majority of guys don't actually care.

A lot of ladies who have misplaced their priorities actually care about how rich a guy is before they consider him and I just pity them. I just hope they realize that the life of a man is a mystery. A man's life can change in a twinkle of an eye.

I'm friends with a lot of people who at one time couldn't even afford a decent meal, but just one phone call changed their lives for best, and vice versa.

Last year, I did a job for this couple that had no house. The groom is my friend and as at then the most valuable property he had was his laptop. In fact, when he told me he was getting married I was like "are u crazy?" Cos he didn't even have a house. Few weeks to the wedding someone gave them a room in his flat and they were squatting there. Whenever I went to the house to discuss their wedding I was always like "how could this girl get married to a man that doesn't have a house?" Honestly, I couldn't understand, I couldn't even think of myself doing it. Well, their marriage is a year old and they are now living in one of the beautifully furnished houses I have ever seen.

Stories like this humble me, and I of all the things I have seen in my few years on earth, I have known that riches cannot be guaranteed. I have also known that life is a mystery.

So if you fall in love with someone from a rich background good, if you fall in love with someone from a humble background good too. Marrying a rich person is not a crime, marrying a poor person is not a crime either, provided that LOVE is the driving force.
Romance › Re: What Exactly Does A Lady Mean When She Says "If U Can Win My Heart"? by DOD1(op): 8:43am On Dec 23, 2012
deenee: Sorry to bust your bubble but the best way to win her heart is to have a very un-interested stance towards the lady in question. Women are put off by men who try hard at winning their hearts.

I have also realized that women tend to fall for men who are enigmatic and unpredictable. If she can predict your every move even before you make it then you ain't gonna go far.

Women like intrigue, suspense and the occasional adrenaline rush. The funny thing is you won't need to break the coffers of a bank to do any of these. It is either you have it in you or you don't.

Best of luck with your conquest!
You really almost succeeded in busting my bubble and I admire your view. But I want to give her benefit of the doubt, I'd give her attention like others have suggested and hope it turns out positive. Else, if I find myself in a similar situation next time, I bet you my experience would count because then I'm gonna make use of your approach. Thanks all the same.
Romance › Re: What Exactly Does A Lady Mean When She Says "If U Can Win My Heart"? by DOD1(op): 8:27am On Dec 23, 2012
uboma: she is stil playing hard to get. U need to give her attention like calling her regularly to say hi, remember her birthday, pay her a visit occasionally with her consent, make her laugh whenever u are with her(ladies love guys who makes them laugh but overdo it so she doesnt take u for a clown) and take her out once in a while but above live within ur means. Dnt stretch urself financially coz at the end of d day she may stil dump u after milking u.
Thanks
I'm not particularly a very funny guy but I'll try. Besides I understand that when a lady is in love, she laughs at any joke the guy cracks even when it's not funny. I'll watch out for her reaction to this to know if she really enjoys being around me because as much as I want to please her, I want to be sure that I'm gradually winning her heart and not falling victim of a woman player whose mission is milking or sucking me dry like you said.

Caracta: How am i supposed to know? Get to know her first. Do not judge a book by its cover. Look out for her strengths. Be sincere with her and watch out for red light.
Just keep doing the best you can. Don't try to impress her. Let her love you for who you are. If she's yours, she would stay.
Got ur points, thanks a lot
Romance › What Exactly Does A Lady Mean When She Says "If U Can Win My Heart"? by DOD1(op): 11:30pm On Dec 22, 2012
I met this lady exactly two yrs ago, we've gone out on a date on few occasions but she wouldn't visit me at home and I tend to be forgetting her. Unexpectedly this morning, she called and ended up visiting me this evening. While chatting, she told me that she's not in love with me yet until I win her heart. I was tempted to ask her what it takes to win her heart but I declined because I feel that will make me look like a mediocre. But the truth is I'm confused as to whether she craves for affection or material things (which I haven't got much to offer) or both.

Christianity Etc › Re: Can We Judge God by DOD1: 9:58am On Dec 07, 2012
The word is not judge, it is REASON but if judgment is what it takes to reason along with God, He does not take offence since it is only a means to an end.

@Op that this thought came to ur mind at all is another proof of man's holier than thou attitude towards God. God is simpler than a deity. There comes a time in a man's life when 4 him 2 see right, he should see wrong. God wanted u 2 see some wrongs about ur conception of Him but tradition would not allow u. There comes a time u say "God u are holy" thinking u've honoured Him, and He's like "u are foolish, in ur literal understanding, what is holy about hardening the heart of pharaoh for his destruction even when he would have repented? Isn't that a sin against humanity?"

Use this medium to reason. I'll talk 2 u about the relevance of atheism soon

NB: that does not mean u can not have a better place, it all depend on ur understanding.
Christianity Etc › Re: Does God Decide Who Wins Lottery ? by DOD1: 9:07am On Dec 07, 2012
It is traditional for religious freaks to drag god into everything even when those things are against the ethics of their religion. However, he who truly knows the ways of God frees his mind from the things that do not matter and so he will have God determine everything that happens in his life, winning lottery inclusive.

Culture › Re: Which Is The Most Popular Nigerian Language Among Nigerians? by DOD1(op): 8:37am On Nov 30, 2012
Igbo is probably hard because of its use of turn of phrase from what I hear, its a proverb rich language so its very context-heavy.

Yeah, that might be true, but d problem I had hasn't got to d point of heavy context, it was just at d preliminary level i.e., pronouncing some of d words correctly while trying to learn was so difficult, and that discouraged me from continuing.
