Rossikk: You must be mistaking Abuja for Washingon DC or London. More corruption occurs in those cities in an hour than happens in Abuja in a year.

Big lie, and you know it grin

Exactly my point! No cost is spared in places were our leaders frequent. However, when it comes to the university where non of their kids will ever go to, see how awful it is.

To be fair, it's been only 22 years since IBB officially moved the Seat of govt to Abuja. With the ongoing plans for a World Trade Centre and other recreational facilities, I believe the Abuja environment will be more bubbly than today.

You go wait taya. Even Ughelli go foam b4 Abuja will think of bubbling!

Any fool with a bottomless pit of petro- dollars can employ people to build a city a hundred times more superior than Abuja. Imagine the impact it would have made to the lives of Nigerians if all those trillions of dollars spent on Abuja were spent on our power generation and distribution system, water and health care?!

So, only our leaders deserve to live like sane people?

Fvcking lie!

Wasn't it just in November last year you were faced with the following predicament -

Anazp: I came to stay in my brother's house after service. During this period, my brother who works in an oil company was posted overseas. I was left alone with his wife in the house. They had been childless for a while now. I simply kept to myself, however my brothers wife was always trying to draw closer. I refused. One thing led to another and we started a relationship. I tried to stop but she insisted we continue since my brother wasnt around. I did not like this at all. Recently she came to me to tell me she was pregnant. She couldnt tell my brother since he would suspect- he had been away for months. Shes insisting she would keep the baby which i'm firmly against. What do i do now?

Religion / Re: Dr Olukoya Of MFM Gives N40m To First Class Graduates by DoffMan2: 9:56am On Apr 13, 2013
abbk000: In his usual style of rewarding academic excellence, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, has splashed N40 million on members of the church who graduated with first class honors degree from different universities across the country.

The event which is third in the series made the 77 graduates smile home with N 500,000 each.
The previous first class graduates went home with a car each, but this year the number rose from 15 to 77 so Dr. Olukoya settled for cash, which they could use to further their education or start something.

The breakdown of the graduates showed that University of Lagos (UNILAG) top the list with 12 graduates which cut across various disciplines, followed by University of Ibadan with nine of such graduates while one is from Central University College, Accra, Ghana.

Speaking at the occasion, Pastor Shade Olukoya, who presented the award praised the graduates for dedication to their academic work and serving God at the same time.

According to her, the award was put in place to reward members of MFM who are dedicated to their academic work while also creating time to serve the Almighty God.

diarra94: Hmmn, abt 40% of this is true. Doesnt really depend on tribe.

Yoruba girls can get easily bored with just a guy and have the tendency to look outside sometimes. If they ain't getting what they want from you, they won't hassle you, but will go behind your back to sort themselves out. Their Lagos sisters are money and status conscious and could be quite rude.

Igbo girls from anambra tend to be cash conscious. Their Imo and Abia sisters tend to give up the pvssy rather easily and have a slightly worryingly high sexual appetite.
Enugu girls are pretenders.

Warri girls like to act gangster and crazy. They'll stick with you without money but will have a paymaster(s) who'll be sorting them out. Woe betide you if you try breaking up with them! Itsekiri girls have a seductive nature.

Portharcourt girls don't see intimacy as anything. They treat it rather casually. They can be "money for hand back for ground" about it too.

Ibibio girls sabi nack gan!

He has a point here. I was told by a very very very reliable source that Tinubu delivered Lagos state to GEJ in the last elections. The deal was done 48hrs to election day and was strictly a business matter. I was told that he'll do it and more again. I asked, what about all this merger business etc.? He said its all posturing and positioning for more bargaining power. Gubernatorial & presidential elections are two separate issues.

Your wife is worried about something. She can pretend with everything else, cooking etc. But she Can't pretend in bed.

Figure out a way of finding out what this problem is. Don't just keep asking her because she'll just get more defensive or pretend more.

Family / Re: Is My Marriage At The Brink Of Collapse? by DoffMan2: 9:14am On Apr 05, 2013
I hope you get the answers you are looking for here.

Let me get straight to the point.

You've put on weight, so you've changed. Even though a change from size 8 to 12 is not too drastic, your belly might be way more potruding than it used to be. Also thigh, arms, hips butt etc. Some men would find that a turn off. Leaking bosoms? That's another turn off for some men. The role of your bosoms have changed, what with you popping it out very frequently for baby, and it's difficult to see it as a sexual objec for now.

Other men might be complementing you when DRESSED up, but they don't see the full picture when you are fully unclad! Besides, many men have secret sexual fantasies about their friends wives (even if they are far less attractive then theirs) just for the simple fact that its something different.

Perhaps your just having had a child has made you slightly more needy? A little bit more careless? You've added some weight, so a little bit insecure? All this will certainly change you, and for some men, when there is no sex going on, a lot (fondnes, complements etc) goes missing from the relationship.

I see some people saying if your husband has concerns about your weight that he should discuss it with you? Most men will never! We've learnt the hard way to always tell our wife she looks good or doesn't look fat, IF SHE ASK'S US. We avoid that subject area like the plague!

Let's not go into if your husband is cheating on you or not because a man could be paying complements, saying sweet things and banging you on a daily basis, but still have 5 girlfriends on the go outside!

My advice? Just keep calm and nurse your child. Your stance should be this - I understand what is going on here but my priority here is my child and keeping my family together. Obviously, if an opportunity comes up for you to discuss these issues, then please take it. But it has to be the right non-confrontational one. Once your child has passed the nursing stage, try and get your old size shape back. In the meantime, try and limit the number of times your husband see's you completely naked etc, and try and limit breastfeeding in front of him - let him be seeing the "packaged" product that other men are seeing, as much as possible.

Goto go, work. Bjkg

Politics / Re: David Ejoor's View About The Civil War by DoffMan2: 11:23am On Jun 16, 2009
I just thought that the following extract would throw some light (NOT JUSTIFYING) on the reasons behind anti-Ibo feelings back then.

Pls excuse me if you've seen it before.

QUICK KILL IN SLOW MOTION: THE NIGERIAN CIVIL WAR (STAFFORD, Michael R., Major, United States Army)

“Before the imposition of European influence in the 19th
Century, these tribes shared little common experience.  They
were separated geographically.  The Northern Hausa-Fulani
tribes were situated in dry savannahs south of the Sahara and
accessible to the influences of the Mediterranean region,
especially Islam.  City states there developed under the rule
of powerful emirs and the Islamic religion took root.
The Yoruba in the West maintained more contact with the
North than did the Eastern tribes, due to their highly
developed trading activities and moderately open territory.
Urban dwellers, the Yoruba were divded into states, each
centered on a city.  The tribe was industrious; crafts were
numerous; and the religion complex due to interaction with
many outside cultures.  The relative sophistication of
Yoruban society helped it withstand the trauma of European
rule.(1)
The Ibo of the Eastern region were initially quite
different from the hard-working, intelligent people that
developed after the arrival of the British.  Isolated in the
dense, wet woodlands of the Niger Delta, the Ibo lacked the
sophistication of the Yoruba or the coastal minority tribes.
In contrast, the originally backward Ibo emerged from the
British colonial period as the most westernized tribe,
espousing Christianity (as did some Yoruba) and proving
adaptable to the imported work ethic due to their initiative
and vigor.(2)”

, and,

“The Ibo Experience.  A final point needs to be made
regarding the animosity toward the Ibo.  In their acceptance
of European values and the Christian religion, the Ibo
further differentiated themselves from the other tribes of
Nigeria, particularly those of the North.  The Ibo proved
themselves intelligent, ambitious and conscientious.  These
traits enabled the Ibo to capitalize on educational
opportunities and saw them dominate administrative
organizations, like the civil service and similar positions
in industry.  They did especially well on the General
Qualification Examination for Officer Placement in the
military, due to their higher education level.(20)  This
eventually became a factor in the establishment of a regional
quota system for officer recruitment, so as to achieve an
ethnic balance in the armed forces.
Resentment built up among the other tribes of the near
Ibo monopoly of the skilled professions and white collar
jobs.  Old tribal prejudices were aggravated by the belief
that the Ibo were trying to dominate Nigeria.  The coup of
January 1966, instigated by Ibo majors, led to the death of
the key non-Ibo leaders in the country and, though apparently
unplanned, placed Ibo General Ironsi in power.  After an
initial period of relief at the believed end of corruption,
doubts formed among the non-Ibo population and a fear
developed that the coup was another step in an Ibo plan to
control the country.
Hundreds of Ibo were massacred in May 1966 in a backlash
to the coup.  General Ironsi had failed to take positive
steps to stabilize the political situation by harshly
punishing the plotters, most of whom were jailed
indefinitely.  The appearance of complicity and the growing
nationwide unrest created the climate for the counter-coup in
July 1966; this coup was initiated by non-Ibo company grade
officers.  Ironsi was brutally slain and his Chief of Staff,
Lieutenant Colonel Yakubu "Jack" Gowon, was a compromise
choice as his replacement.  Gowon was the senior Northern
officer serving in the Army at the time; however, his choice
created some interesting aspects since he was Christian, from
a middle belt minority tribe, and had been hitherto
relatively obscure.”

, finally, regarding why the Federal Gov couldn't control the mobs up north,

“But the military lacked the size to control Nigeria.  At
the time of the first coup, Nigerian forces totaled only
10,500.  The Army was the largest with 9,000 soldiers.  The
Navy numbered 900, including 80 officers, and the newly
formed Air Force boasted about 700 men.  In a country more
than twice the size of California, the military was spread
too thinly and was without the training, equipment and
sophistication to suitably dominant Nigeria's vast area and
population.  Additionally, this small organization
reverberated with the ethnic turmoil confronting the rest of
the country which further reduced its ability to handle the
civil strife”
