This is a question worth asking. Is spending 1.2 billion dollars on fighter jets what Nigeria needs at this moment? Considering that the primary enemies of Nigeria now are ragtag terrorists and misfits carrying out guerilla style attacks. There is a reason why Ukraine and even Russia aren't procuring fighter jets. Drones, drones drones! An fpv drone costs less than 3000 dollars and is more effective for the kind of engagement the Nigerian military is currently undertaking. Even the US has not placed any new orders for fighter jets in recent years but they are spending over 15 billion dollars in drone development. Drones are the future. Armed drones at that. |
One thing I find quite instructing is that even in the 1700s to 1800s, what we now call northern Nigeria already had an established form of writing and had people publishing books. |
Nothing wrong if she remarries. |
Why the f are they playing AFCON during Christmas? And no! We will NOT watch. The eagles can go to hell for all we care. |
Whatever it is, Akpabio will not be able to carry out his duties as the senate president...IF he returns. |
kimjongJezebel:The Hausa states were not united and were in conflict with each other. This allowed Uthman Fodio to carve out and isolate them for attacks one after another. With the conquest of each Hausa kingdom, came more foot soldiers who believed in his message and embraced his call for jihad. In effect, most of Fodio's fighters weren't even Fulani but Hausa themselves. Uthman was also known to have written over 100 books so his writings and teachings were already widespread. He spoke out against the decadence in the Hausa states, their injustice and oppression of the poor and the widespread theft/rustling of cattle. The Hausa elites were oppressing the poor in their communities and the poor found Uthman's message appealing. Fodio didn't only believe in using the sword to spread his message. He engaged in diplomacy on a number of occasions as well. Some Hausa kings weren't too keen on having an outsider who preached a strict adherence to Islam, dominate them. Several attempts were made on Fodio's life with the most remarkable of them being when the king of Daura dug a well and placed a hollow seat over it. He was expecting to receive Fodio in his palace. That hollow seat was covered and decorated to hide the huge hole in it. If Uthman had sat on it, he would have fallen into the well beneath. Somehow by an act of providence, Uthman was able to detect the elaborate trap when he came to the palace courts. It was taken that the god he always talked about had preserved him and more believers were added to the number of Muslims in the kingdom. As news of his conquests spread, more kings sent emissaries to him pledging allegiance and willingness to fully embrace Islam. However, Uthman remained deeply distrustful of the Hausa population and their kings and he mandated that a Fulani rule over each kingdom they took over. A practice that still continues till today. Dan Fodio died in Sokoto. There is little evidence to suggest that he died as a result of injuries sustained during his campaign in the Benue valley against Tiv warriors. He was ill for 2 years and was reportedly so overtaken with grief for the murderous nature of his campaign against fellow Muslims and became paranoid as a result.

When you hear a northerner saying 'zan chi ubanka', this is Dangote doing that to Farouk Ahmed. This is also Dangote personally treating Ahmed's f-up. |
The author of this article is a clown. What does 'Russian backed Sahel states' mean? You think Russia will jeopardize its relationship with Nigeria because of any of the Sahel states? You are a clown. |
The truth of the matter is that Buhari was simply too incompetent to have any business with being the president. He was a president in name only. His administration will go down as one of the most corrupt and disgraceful in the history of this country. |
Accusations and counter accusations. We must remember though that the NMDPRA boss started off this fight when he baselessly claimed that dangote refinery fuel was substandard and had failed to meet critical performance parameters. On that basis alone, he should have been sacked. |
I like how Dangote is evolving. The guy is skilled in various areas. Earlier in the year he was a skit maker and content creator. Now he has kept suit and agbada aside and is openly doing agbero. Him no just wan get joy dis period. The kind hold wey him hold NMDPRA oga for blokkus go dey make dat guy regret the day wey him look for Dangote trouble. I understand with Dangote though. The oil cabals want to frustrate his 25 billion dollars refinery and if Dangote stays gentle and calm, they'll succeed. The worlds richest black man has activated agbero mode. Anybody wey him jam dis period their name na sorry. |
Dangote dey wear suit but na agbero him be inside. See as him dey drag marketers wetin no good. Their mind go dey beat seriously anytime dem hear say Dangote wan do press conference. |
This is insane. The consistent reports of killings, organ trafficking and torture coming from that place is sickening. |
Is this what government wants to tax everyone for? Our taxes will be looted by these thieving politicians? Haba! |
How do you move into someone else's land and rename the place? And not only that, you go around killing and kidnapping the indigenes of the area. Fulani have bitten more than they can chew |
Buncha failures. They have no shame. |
Fiscus105:Oga till date MJ remains the highest grossing artist. Even this year his songs have made more money than Taylor Swift. |
They are exploiting our people, looting our resources and are arming bandits to kill. The Chinese particularly are giving weapons to bandits to kill and chase people aware from their ancestral lands so that they can move in and illegally mine the resources found there. |
The paid government apologists above are an embarrassment. They aren't even putting in effort. They are just basically phoning it in. A policy that will kick off in less than 15 days and Nigerians don't fully know what to expect. The government isn't even sure what it is doing and neither does it know how extensive its tax law will go. There will be disaster as a result. |
What is wrong with VDM? Now he has put the life of that Fulani man at risk. |
I watched the video. That guy is a mad lad. He crept up on the shooter, overpowered him and seized his gun. He pointed the gun at the shooter but didn't shoot since he had no knowledge of guns. One of the shooters on the overhead bridge ahead saw him and sent some bullets his way. Ahmad accommodated some bullets in his arms though the doctor thinks the bullets need to be removed. He underwent surgery some hours back. A good Muslim stops a bad Muslim. |
Who are the big 3? You need to elucidate. The author of this article is an airhead. You just wrote without communicating. I still place Sinach Far above any gospel musician in Nigeria at the moment. Even inside my high when I hear her sing I feel ministered to. The rest are just noise makers. |
Ofcourse he has to keep supporting Tinubu. Without Tinubu he is nothing. |
Burob:Prosper through hardworking of hands prosper through accumulation of offerings and tithes from membership? Which do you mean? |
There will never be a time that Nigerians will vote for El-Rufai as president. Let him forget the idea. |
People wey never chop wan dey beef naija |
God of man has spoken. Nigerians help me consider this. It is an error to pastor a church for years and you become richer than the congregation you pastor. There is no prominent pastor in Nigeria that started ministry with up to 300 naira in their account. I'm not talking about the Jerry Eze set of pastors. Even his set non of them started ministry with up to 5 million of personal funds in their accounts. Majority of these pastors are billionaires now. Just last year, a group of them donated 500m each to buy a Rolls Royce for their spiritual father. The most prominent one among them didn't even have transport and a place to sleep when he first stepped foot in Abuja. His church office was an abandoned molue bus he covered with wrapper at the windows. But they are billionaires today. So my question is, how many billionaires have they raised if at all? How many through their teachings have become billionaires? This upward vacuuming of wealth from those in desperate need to those who are already comfortable is a stain on the church. Primate Ayodele is boasting of a 150 million naira shoe, which of his members can afford that? What business is his church engaged in that he can afford that? There is a prominent pentecostal Church headquartered in Abuja that a pastor of one of the branches, his wife and some members got kidnapped by bandits within the week. The assistant pastor was shot dead. The blogs aren't carrying it and everyone is moving on as if nothing serious has happened. Do churches exist just to benefit the GO and his family? This is an error! |
Putindbutt:What is wrong with you seriously? Are you sane? Look at the rubbish you wrote up there. No one really cares about Obi but the pettiness from you lot makes a lot of people dislike the president. |
Deepspirituals:Then what do you need money for? Spirit dey use money? |
The north isn't really ready for development. They are holding this country back. |
President Tinubu really has a lot to answer for. He knows all the links this man has to these bandits and still went ahead to appoint him as MSD. |
