Buying a second hand Mobile phones is not so bad and not all that risky as most people view it, only that you need to know what to test for and you are good to go.

Before buyiny you may need to test for the following
1. microphone, make and receive call
2. the speaker, play sound and video. If formatted, insert your memory card
3. go with an ear piece to test audio port
4. test the charging port very important, (Remember the phone would not come with charger)
5. insert you sim and memory card, test for networt signal and signal strenght.
6. Auto configure your internet and try to browse (Pay as you go may be faster) or go with a sim with activated data plan
7. Test the cameras, front and back.
8. Test camera clearity and flash light.
9. Test for high temperature, most malfunctioning phones becomes unnecessarily hot when you make a call of one to two minutes or play low end game.
10. Test all keys, volume keys,power key, key pads if not touch screen. Ensure there is no hanging or delay in response when pressed.

You will notice that i didn't include battery, most second hand phone battery are not all that good and a bad battery doesn't mean the phone function is bad, its' a two different thing. You can get a new battery just ensure you factor it in your price bargain.

NOTE: When you are satisfy with all these condition and you are willing to buy, ensure the phone doesn't leave your sight some sellers could be dubious.

I have used lots of phones but sincerely only few of them are bought brand new, Going for second hand or refurbished high end phones are always good deal, most previous user usually drop them because their are new model out there.



My advice is that you have to know what make up a good phone, that means you have to test some certain funtion of the phone before buying.

Sincerely the first time i watch that video i know something was wrong, I have seen scene where a man was shot with a bullet and you see blood litering everywhere,the absence of blood around the dead guy and on the body of the woman that sat beside the body and even on the butcher himself make the incident questionable.

Another suprising aspect is seeing people around the scene when the killers where still around, talking and interviewing them. I don't know how Uk people react to things like this but for Nigeria it will be a ghost town at that moment.

I don't know anything about filming, i believe the set marker and cue marker will make more sense to people within the field.

The common saying is that the easiest way to govern human is to put fear in them, fear of their life, fear of insecurity.

It is a common saying that reason why Toyota brand is most Popular among car users (Naija especially) its because the part are cheap and readily available. Trully Toyota parts could be readily available but are they realy cheap? I intended changing from my Mazda brand to Toyota with the believe that Toyota are cheaper to maintain, but Judging from some of my colleagues that has carried out engine repair (replacement)on their Toyota car, i can tell you that most of their spare parts (especially engine parts) are not cheaper than Mazda or other not so popular brands.

I know of two guys who recently have to replace their gear system (Toyota brand) and none of them spent less than 90k for the replacement. Although their outter parts which are the most commonly replaced (thanks to Danfo and Okada) can be relatively cheap compare to other brands but sincerely not so cheap as you would expect.

Please don't let us be deceived by Academic theories using lawa of demand and supply blah blah blah, all those things doesn't really work in Nigeria, only Gods knows what exactly drives our market price.

Well this is from my own view and are based on what i have seen and would like to hear other car users view too.

MicroBox: @Domack99 pls where is ATF filter located in honda academy. My keep blinking continously and i have to drive a bit far before the gear would change some times the distance covered before it would change will be lenghly so pls i need your advice on what might be the fault. Pls Auto mechanic in my region are dummie i preffer to have the idea and hint them on what to do in order to save my car from total distruction.

The ATF filter is part of the gear system, you can ask your mechanic to locate it.
Can you elaborate more on what you mean by blinking continouosly.

I experience such recently but my was as a result of gear slippage. There few factors that could cause this or could be the gear want to pack up itself. Since the oil level is normal as you said, you might want to check/clean or probably replace the ATF oil filter, while doing this, ask your mechanic to filter the oil and use it to flush the transmission path and then pour into the transmission an entirely new ATF.
The question is what make the filter block, if its as a result of wear from the gear system itself then then this is a temporary solution but if its ATF worn out, then you are good.

The gear selector could be another part you might want to check, hope your car is a toyota, so that you can easily borrow one to test the performance before buying.

The logic is clear, Jesus is not God [5:75], millions of Christians are worshiping Jesus today and even the Qur'an acknowledges this [5:119], therefore Jesus will be fuel for the Hell fire [21:98] together with the Christians.

This clearly contradicts the verses on Jesus' special place near to Allah [Sura 3:45; 4:158 and others].

This chapter of the Quran talks about the unbelievers during the prophet era when islam was still new to the world, Jesus was never reffered to at any point of the chapter. Its about the people asking the prophet for a proof that he was sent by Allah, and Allah was telling him that even those people before them that where shown proof still do not believe. As anybody notice the new way or should i say process of checking your credit balance with glo, this is really annoyiny, after dialing the USSD code #124#, there is another prompt message that ask you to press 1 for main balance, 2 for this, 3 for that.who ever give them this ideal and hoping to improve their customer service must have gotten it wrong. While can't they just tell you all the balance available for all the accounts after dialing #124#
Another annoying part is when you don't have sufficient credit to call, rather thsn stating the kobo left in the the account they will write that you credit is empty imagine no kobo remaining.

i saw this video now on facebook, this is very embarassing. just imaging the category of people in our civil service. This is somebody that is charge with security of the country

Ghanian electricity is more stable, most of them only fuel their vehicle,
Their leaders are less corrupt compare to ours, so most likely they we use the money to developed their country.

The point here is, if subsidy most go in Nigeria, our leaders would need to make a huge sacrifice, these guys allocate huge amount of money for themselves more than enough to carter for 500 naira per litre of fuel if it were to be. The basic amenities are not there for us to enjoy. If the subsidy is taken away, wouldn't the money go into some politician pocket in the name of not existing project.

About 37 naira has been taken away that bring the price to 97 naira per litre, tell what have they being using the 37 naira for since 2012, and please don't tell me they fixed the road or build a bridge because all these projects have been budgeted for without the subsidy money. One thing was obvious, they increase the states monthly allocation, then what the state governors settles their cacus and god-fathers.

I have notice a lot of seller advitising their galaxy s3 without telling the buyers the version of galasy s3 they are selling. Sometimes buyers thought they got a good ideal when they purchase the product at a lower price compare to the price obtain in the market but not knowing they are buying the lower specs version of the phone.

First you have to understand that all other version of galaxy s3 apart from i9300 and i9305 are customized version made for various telecoms companies in various countries. The best among all these model is i9305, the galaxy i9305 has 2GB Ram advantage, LTE (4G) and support UHS-1 SD Card, follow by SHV-E210 customised for South Koreans telecom companies and next is galaxy s3 i9300.

Galaxy S3 i747, i535,T99 and so on are all customized version with a lower specs compare to their international counterparts. This might not really matter to most Nigerians because we only use the basic functions of these phones (browsing, calling, etc), but heavy user of android and international travellers mostly have to be mindful of what model they are buying.

So what model are you using?

yemmyyy: Im experiencing the same problem too on my honda accord 1996.The engine has been serviced, air and fuel filter changed. The car was due for service anyway, but the problem persist, it happens only on low speed when the car is about to come to complete stop.
experts advice needed.

Base on my research so far there are few things that could cause this, Air/fuel control(this might have to do with oxygen sensors sometimes), timing belt issues (loose or slag), Vacuum leak.
If your vehicle is giving a whistling sound you might want to start with the vacuum leak check and as Sultaan mentioned earlier you can go to youtube and see how to perform vacuum leak test.

If your vehicle is also having a poor gas millage and probably emitting smoke, you should check your oxygen sensors.

Nice one Sultaan, that could actually be the problem, lots of videos on youtube that explain it, Vacuum leaks cannot be detected by any code reader. I will try check that out with my mechanic right away.

nissparts: I can assure you that instead of guessing, a diagnostic scan would point you in the right direction.

I did the scan and the error codes are P0155 and P0141. Am using INNOVA 3030 and you have to understand that this reader can only come up with generic code not the manufacturer specific code. These two codes has something to do with Oxygen sensors, upstream and downstream of catalyst. The poosible causes are somehow technical, now i need a competent mechanic to assist me with this, i don't have the necessary tools to do FIY.

Five times today the engine of my car died while driving on the road. All 5 times happened at slow speeds. Once going slowly crossing a railroad rails,twice while slowing down in a traffic and twice going over speed bumps. There is no problem with the battery.
When the engine shut off, all the lights on the dash light up, and the steering wheel locked. Even though igniting the car again wasn't a problem,it start without hesitation. its a crappy feeling to have your engine die in the middle of the road.
It just happens suddenly. The car wasn't choking or anything, the RPM needle just simply drops and engine is off with all the lights on.
Has anyone experienced this and what was the problem?
Engine light didn't come up.
