Phones › Re: What are the implications of HSDPA & GSM Frequencies by domack99(m): 12:12pm On Dec 09, 2012
GSM-->GPRS-->EDGE-->WCDM(UMTS)-->HSDPA.

GPRS,EDGE and HSDPA are DATA networks only i.e. they do not support circuit switched voice. GSM supports circuit switched voice and circuit switched data both. UMTS supports circuit switched voice and packet data.

Phones › Which Is Most User Friendly, Samsung, Nokia, Bb Or iPhone by domack99(op): 9:55am On Nov 11, 2012
To me i believe samsung phones are more user friendly because you don't need to ask anybody or read the phone manual to locate or access any application or tools on the phone. I believe the tools and application on samsung are well arrange and this apply to all samsung phone from simple ones to their complex smartphones

I try using Nokia phone recently, Asha 202 in particular and i find it difficult doing some certain things on it, like multiple deleting of file lkie music files, setting Alarms to ring on certain days, multiple trransfer of files trough BT and so on.Even while composing text message you can easily change from prediction text format to manual.

Am not too conversant with Iphone so i can't really say how user friendly they are.

Romance › Re: Is It Advisable To Marry At 22-25 As A Man? by domack99(m): 9:28am On Oct 29, 2012
Yes its a very good idea to marry at 22 years, because by 45 you already have a child that is a graduate, young enough to have good time with your grand children.

But for most Nigerians guys, at 60 to 70 years they are still paying school fees
Car Talk › Flashing The Headlight What Does it Mean to you? by domack99(op): 9:12am On Oct 29, 2012
Flashing of Headlight is a common act on our road today, and this could be interpreted differently by different road users (Drivers and Pedestrians).
Before now, my believe and i think most road users believe is that when a driver flashes his/her headlight it means the other road user should go ahead giving them chance to do what they want to do while he/she wait. And if the driver hold on to his/her headlight bright without flashing means the other road users should wait (this is a very common scenario on the highway).

Just recently on my street where double packing is a norm, a woman flashes me and i drove towards her and to my surprise the woman didn't reverse or pull aside for me to pass and the road was locked up because there were about four to five cars behind me already.

The Woman came down and said oga i was flashing can't you see and i said "Madam flashing means you ask me to come". She said anytime i flash people they wait for me and i told her anytime i flash other road users i wait for them.

That day i realize that their is no definite representation of what flashing of headlight means and since then i have try to experiment this with different road users and i will tell you that people understanding of flashing differs. There was a guy that even brightened the headlight at me and we were both waiting at the other side.

For those of you that attend legitimate driving school i know you were taught road signs but were you taught the meaning of flashing or brightening of headlights

What is certain is that the driver is trying to pass a message whenever he/she flashes or brightened his/her headlight

Islam › Re: Challenges Of Muslims In Nigeria; Solutions Needed Please by domack99(m): 11:23am On Oct 21, 2012
I won't say muslim are lagging behind, its just that we have less devoted muslim, most don't even show their identity at all in the organization.
I will praise Muslim brothers who tend to with hold their identity in this trying period, sincerly its not easy i must tell.

maclatunji: 6. Is it by default that muslim youth dominate garages?
Am very sure you leave in the south west of the country, i believe you would't say this If you leave in the eastern parts or less Muslim dominated area.
Car Talk › Re: How Reliable Is Mazda Millenia? by domack99(m): 7:23am On Oct 19, 2012
I used Mazda Millenia 2002 Model with V6 engine, i think they all come with V6 engine. Mazdas are strong car and have very nice interior compare to Toyota but for this Millenia in particular the company stop the production of Millenia model since 2002 so the part are scarce and i will sincerely tell you that Millenia are very expensive to maintain. Getting a mechanic to work on it and get a satisfactory result is very difficult i must tell you. Its a good car and very heavy too but if you don't have much money to play around with, then i will tell you to stay away.

Check some of my previous post, you will see some of the problem am battling with presently, though the car is still moving but i must tell you i have spent quite a lot of cash on it with little or no improvement.

We imported two of that car from US and both of US are still battling with one problem or the other.

If you need further advice, you can let me know.

Also note; if the the car is not 2002 Model then its expensive for that price. If its 2002 Model and its a Nigerian used its also expensive for that price
Family › Re: Am I Extravagant With N80K And Above Monthly Spending? by domack99(m): 8:30am On Oct 18, 2012
Most times we don't know we spend much until we check our account balance,i think the best way to go here is to get a Money/expense tracker software like qicken. But you have to know that this software only allow you to monitor your spending and know where your heavy spendings are and its only useful for those who can only control their spending.
But if you can not control your spending it is better to look for how to tie down your money, this can be achieve through life assurance scheme and housing scheme which can also qualify you for tax reduction in Nigeria.

Going through the response to this post you will be amazed on what consume bulk of Nigerians income. Somebody quoted earlier that he spend 10K on internet modem and yet that same person has Blabberry and Ipad and still spend 3k and 8k respectively on their data plan. And lot of people in this category are provided with internet facility at the office. I also notice that there are some Nigerians who do not need more than a Startime TV but are paying huge sum for DSTV.

Another terrible aspect is phone calls, few Nigerians now what package their mobile lines are, few people research what network and what package is best for them all we do is to call and at the end of every month we can not even account for the amount we spend on recharge cards. We subscibe to various data plan with our sophisticated smart phones but never learn to make internet calls through skype, gtalk. yahoo etc at a no or very low cost.

To be finacially secure for three years you have to learn to save at least 60% of your monthly income for atleast five and half years. Though Nigeria factor make this almost impossible because most income earners in Nigeria have several dependant but one fact we have to realize is that we can not solve everyone problem, also most people realize the benefit of savings when they start having responsibilities.

Saving money i must tell you is not really easy but we must learn how to succeed in it in order to survive for any future eventualities or inenvitable like retirement.

Politics › Re: Biafran Col Joe Achuzia Throws His Own Bombshell by domack99(m): 12:29pm On Oct 08, 2012
preciousoz: Am realy amazed with the way Nigerian Youth think undecided

Where U there before the War? Even col Achuzia is in the Dark as to what realy started the War.... Am afraid the only people that can tell Nigerians the truth of what the way was about are Ojukwu,Awolowo and Gowon etc not errand boys including Obasanjo,IBB etc... I say this because these guys were under command.

Have U asked urself questions as this-

1. If Biafra (Ibo speaking part of Nigeria) was what Ojukwu was after, why did He Occupy Benin and invaded Ore ?

2. Why the interest in the Niger delta or why not consult the ethnic Minorities of where they stand ?

3. When was Oil discovered in Nigeria and where?

4. Was it because of the Mass killings in the North?

5. Was it selfishness or greed?

These and many more questions we should ask ourselves before jumping into conclusions as we can see today that these people (that fought the civil war) are busy allocating oil blocks to themselves and only those that's not benefiting in any way are coming out to Cry Foul.

If its true that Igbos don't like Hausa's and their lives are in danger (mind U greater number of Ibos are killed daily from bomb blast than any othe ethnicity in the South) what are they doing in Kano and even Maiduguri after the horrible experiences of the Civil War?

Everyday Here, some shameless people come and bash themselves, but when you enter the streets You see igbo people making good money from the street of Lagos and othe western states and the Yorubas in every Bank in the east.

I Swear there's More Tribalism in this Forum than there is in the Street.

We the Future leaders should please forget about these old people that have contributed in leading us astray so they don't use us to settle old Scores. We should forge ahead and Build a better Nation that our children will be proud of. We all need each other as a Nation and the Few that trouble us will be no more soon if we the younger generation work together.

There is strenght and beauty in diversity.... Please stop this Gospel of Hate and let this people that have failed us bury their head in Shame.

I Love Nigeria
I couldn't have said it better, Sometimes i wonder why our eastern brothers blame Hausa or Yoruba just the same way Nigerians blame the Colonial masters (British) for our failure.
Nigerian youth need to stop all these tribal war if we really want to move forward.

Car Talk › Re: New Or Tokunboh Car Parts: Which Do You Prefer? by domack99(m): 5:49pm On Oct 02, 2012
The issue their is that Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) are not working. ow can a tokumbo part be better than a brand new, this can't happen in a country where their regulatory body is working. Most importers of parts in Nigeria go to China and demand a very low quality, quality which are not acceptable in most countries not even in china itself.
