Politics / Re: An Open Letter To Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi by Don1DeMaco: 7:18pm On Jan 05, 2012
Brilliant piece well written and also asking valid questions.
I need to add a few.
After the removal of subsidy if the government would really collapse why set up a committee to tell us how to spend the money headed by Kolade who is probablly another old timer ready to earn his pension. If the govt reallY Had the interest of Nigerians the the blueprint/ paper on the utilisation of these fund would have been done with the same vigour like that of the analysis for the subsidy removal.
Why share the money among federal, states and local govt. When the plan on spending isn't in place. So on what basis where these allocated figures arrived at another foul play there. Still part of the insincerity.
Why weren't the pallativesd/ plans executed and Nigerians enjoying the benefits before removing the subsidy. Like running with the 1700 buses planned now since maybe Oct last  year
This few points of mine if answered would show that the Govt is just interesterd in removing subsidy without knowing what to do next. Maybe they are still waiting on the nbext blueprint from the puppet masters. Or maybe business as usual and ur guess is as good as mine on what that is.

Business / Re: Fuel Subsidy And Fake Subsidy - Simon Kolawole by Don1DeMaco: 3:32am On Oct 26, 2011
Simon Kolawole is one of the reasons why we are where we are, just like his brother Ruben Abati. These guys are disgrace to journalism. They analyse issues as if they are in beer parlours and publish it for people to read. Why should anybody with brains take these articles seriously. Imagine basing the change in your opinion by talking to just one person and using that as a basis on commenting on national issues. I bet thats the same way the President of this country is also breifed on national matters by your likes.

Please next time you feel you need to comment on issues that affect the masses base it on verified facts and not some beer parlour gist you had with a source.

The questions i would like to ask is, if there are no names to these companies how do you verify the story you've been told. Did you sight NNPC account or documents on imported fuel? Did u do a stake out to know that truely people are collecting bribes. What form of investigative Journalism did u do to verify your source? None i presume at least ur article doesnt show that. What if your source is also an agent of the government and is only telling you one side of the story??

i think its high time Journalist in this country practice journalism and not shout so that they can get political appointments as settlement from the same people they criticize. Please go and work on this article and feed the Nigerian populace with facts ( Names, Figures, if possible copies of documents) then you can say you've earned your pay.

Failure to do that is the same as the failure of the government. Its about time people really do what they get paid/ known for.

Just my own little opinion.

Politics / Re: Ibori Arrested In Dubai by Don1DeMaco: 10:05pm On May 13, 2010
Its funny the way people think.

You say selective justice cannot be justified but at the same time u systematically seleted the names of a few people suspected to be thieves like Ibori as the first palce to start.

Now think about it, isnt that being selective too

The truth of the mater is all thieves cannot be caught and tried at the same time, it has to be one after the other and not in the magnitude of how much has been stolen, i can tell u for certain that a guy that stole clothes on the clothes-line was jailed yesterday for stealing, now isnt that selective justice, God forbid if an armed robber is caught trying to steal from u and he is to be on trial would u tell the authorities to drop the case cos he has not stolen as much as IBB or OBJ??

I mean we need to start thinking as a people and be objective the fundamental question to ask is, Is the man if convicted guilty as charged, If the answer is YES then i have no qualms with who reported who or who jailed who, whats important is justice has been served.

I mean the good people of Delta would be glad if this case is brought to bed and justice is served that further allocations to them no matter how small would be spent wisely on the state and its people instead of it being embezzled with the fear of ibori's case the beginning of wisdom for any office holder.

This just my own little opinion. Like i said its high time we as a people stop celebrating mediocrity wake up, stand up and be counted instead of paying lip service to issues. Like someone rightly said One small thief caught and locked up is still i less thief to worry about

another case of misplaced priority. though good thought. at least he is doing something.

maybe one day he will go head on and address the main issues which are pressing and not all this jamboree.

Anyway at least the guy dey try, even as i'm criticising i know he is by far the best gov. in the hopeless democratic regime. But people stop the over elaborate praise singing and continue to look out for oppourtunities where the lives of majority of Nigerians would be touched especially in terms of basic ammenities.

I dont believe ur story but then again who am i to judge.
its nairaland and we always need something to talk about.

if u really treated her good then u dont deserve what u got but then who says every good deserves good

but i can assure u dat if u treated her well she would find it difficult to see something good even if its steering her in the face and would always come back to u

But guy na u dey profess and confess love now oooo, if she comes back would u take her and forget that it ever happened. instead of crying dats what u need to be thinking about cos its going to happen and then its how u handle it that would make u come out of it a man.

if not forget it ever happened now and move on. if u cant take her back when not if she come cos she will definitely come then its good u let her be and look 4 ur own.

i wish u luck.

Career / Re: Enormous Salaries Of BankPHB by Don1DeMaco: 2:57pm On Feb 16, 2009
For me the title of the thread doesnt align with whats being discussed and i begin to wonder how this guy was employed in the first place dats if he is employed.

For me i think its the poster's ploy to  discourage people from getting jobs with the bank either because he is applying for the job or lack of job security with the same bank, cos i dont know why anybody dats currently looking for a job would care about what would happen to him in 10 years time when the certain FA guy would fabricate something to relieve such person of his/ her job.

on another note, i dont think its fair to condemn a man for speaking his mind if all his allegations are true but at the same time i dont think the guy is totally correct in the manner in which he is going about it.

like a lot of guys have said, i'll prefer to see proof of them allegations instead of soiling people's names without facts to back it up.

All in all i really think as individuals we need to change our attitude towards how we correct people esp when there is difference of opinion i'm also guilty of dat, and concentrate on facts instead of being sentimental with our judgement cos dats the only way we can move forward.

The guy Jamal gave a wrong answer to the Rs 2,50,000 question in the movie.

He was asked to name the poet who wrote song "Darshan Do Ghanshyam Nath Mori Ankhiya Pyasi" and was given 4 options - Surdas, Tulsidas, Meerabai and Kabir.

None of the options was the question cos the poet that wrote the song was Narsinh Mehta.

Surdas which was the option choosen by Jamal in the movie wrote a poem/ song with a similar meaning titled "Ankhiya Hari Darshan Ki Pyasi".

Though all in all I still think it is a gr8 movie and it deserves all the recognition it is getting and hope it wins the Oscar for Best Picture Next week, though The Curious case of Benjamin Button is also a strong contender for us Brad pitt fans.

But fancy Frank Shuaib making the same mistake on Who wants to be a millionaire and I walk away with a cool million b4 they realise,

Dont think so at least not directly
cos he is black doesnt mean they would loosen immigration rules for africans
or they would send more aid than b4 to africa
or they would help africa recover their stolen wealth from the west.

apart from the man's skin colour he is white through and through
went to white school, had a white upbringing, ,
though married a black woman and has a black family

All the same I love the guy cos of his Yes we can speech
If i could i would keep thumbprinting or whatever it is they do in America for him all day
just like they did for Agagu in Ondo state if u know what i mean?
or use the PDP model of winning at all cost

I see it as a challenge for american democracy and lets hope and pray he wins cos a new conspiracy to paint the man black the real colour that he is has started in America, esp by the media with talks of his illegal immigrant aunt, the fact that the media have been very unfair to McCain bla bla bla

Lets hope and pray he wins, would be lighting a candle for him out here and would be watching closely esp for a repaet of the Bush Vs Al Gore election of 2000, where they came for a crash course on how to rig elections in Nigeria.

60 Nigerian illegal immigrants die off the coast of Spain

Dozens of Nigerians are reported dead and several others missing after their boat capsized while attempting to enter into Spain illegally. Spanish officials who said the dead included two pregnant women said the mishap occured after their boats ran into rough waters off Spain’s southern coast. According to maritime authorities, the boat was carrying over 100 Nigerian migrants when it overturned off the town of Motril.

About 23 migrants were rescued while the search for the bodies of those who died has begun. The boat was one of several carrying Nigerians attempting the dangerous trip to Europe via Spain. The authorities said they are searching for other boats, but warned that the death toll could be higher.

"Our Navy intercepted several boats, the fate of the occupants are uncertain, but this are dangerous waters and they may have drowned", a Spanish official said.

Sources said the desperate Nigerian paid several thousands of dollars to syndicates which promised them entry to Spain, but ended up packing them into leaky boats for the dangerous trip. Thousands of Africans attempt to reach Spain's canary Islands every year, but most drown during the trip. "The Nigerian government should take steps to prevent its citizens from making this dangerous trip as the likely consequence could be death", Spanish officials said.

What has xenophobia got to do with a Panafrica state cos dat does not mean it would stop the Panafricans of south africa from still killing foreigners only this time they would be asians, or europeans or even americans cos the same problems would still exist.

With the panafrican state it would not be xenophiobia again, but tribalism since we would be from the same country but different tribes, or should i say an extreme case of xenophobia would still exist as in the case of genocide or ethnic cleansing, cos being from the same country does not mean those things would go away, infact it would even be more rampant

I think u need to check ur use of english words b4 starting threads or did ur teacher give u an assignment on making a sentence with the word xenophobia?? cos it just doesnt add up and ur reply to peoples post show u really have limited understanding of the language

Just by the way side, who would be the ruler, or is it leader or president
The oga of AU, or the president of the most populous black nation Yar Dull, or will it be the much celebrated Nelson Mandela or his side kick Thabo Mbeki, or maybe the enfant terrible Robert Mugabe or the longest serving president in Africa Omar Bongo, or u never know it might be the great one from Libya Ghadafi, Charles taylor might also contest the election if its a democratic system we adopt, and i wonder what the national language will be

Swahili, Zulu, English, French, Arabic, Portugese, Yoruba, Hausa, Pidgin English? maybe the real dream of making pidgin english a universal language can be actualized, should i go on or stop cos currency, unified laws, head quaters, capital of US of Africa will be where, military installations, revenue derivation/ sharing, abeg wake up from ur slumber and try to contibute positively in building a beta Africa and stop making careless and unrealistic statements
