Nigerian opposition leader Atiku Abubakar paid $16.5 million (N8.7 billion in today’s parallel conversions) to an American firm to help him destroy his opponent’s campaign message and procure a visa to Washington in the run-up to the 2019 presidential vote, according to disclosure filings seen by Peoples Gazette, bolstering a long-held presumption that Nigerian electioneering was becoming more expensive to run even before illicit payments to electoral officers and voters are factored in. Mr Abubakar, 74, used the money to enlist the services of K.M. Family Investment, LLC, a Texas-based public affairs consultancy run by Sada Cumber, a Pakistani-American diplomat and former U.S. Special Envoy to the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) under President George W. Bush. The deal was facilitated by Legacy Logistics, an Abuja-based integrated services venture linked to Mr Abubakar’s associates Samuel Cornelius and Joseph Nzepuome. Amongst other campaign ideas, Mr Cumber and his team accepted the $16.5 million deal to help the former Nigerian vice president lobby American politicians and bureaucrats for a visitor’s visa, coordinate advanced communications of his campaign and help build a structure tasked with the “destruction” of opposition messaging, according to the contract seen by The Gazette as part of compliance with the provisions of U.S. Foreign Agents Registration Act. https://www.reporterswall.com/2019-election-documents-show-atiku-paid-16-5-million-to-secure-u-s-visa-destroy-buhari-campaign/

Our phones give us instantaneous access to limitless information. But sometimes that means others will have access to you. Your phone is the perfect access point for anyone looking to steal your information, or worse, spy on you. Smartphones have greatly changed the way live. They’ve also made us easy targets by consolidating so much of our daily business and communication to one device. Someone could access your phone’s data if they had the right tools. Cell phone monitoring programs allow remote access to a target device. This software makes most of the important data readily accessible including text messages, call logs, pictures, social media, and GPS location. They are useful tools for anyone who needs remotely controlled access to a device, but, like any tool, it has the potential to be mishandled. This technology is often used by parents as a way of keeping tabs on their child’s devices. https://www.reporterswall.com/how-can-i-tell-if-someone-is-monitoring-my-phone/

I met my wife on total accident. I mixed up a M and N when I sent a email and she got it instead of a client. She emailed me back about the mistake and I emailed her back thanking her. She was lonely and just out of a really bad relationship and looking for someone to talk to so we began going back and forth. Eventually that turn to calling each other and one day I just decided to go meet her. That night I took her out to dinner and then to a mini golf course and while we were playing mini golf I knew I wanted to see where this was going. I wouldn’t say I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her but I had only felt like that one time before. https://www.reporterswall.com/how-do-you-know-you-have-met-someone-with-whom-you-want-to-spend-the-rest-of-your-life/

The player resists the urge, as would anyone. When the situation becomes imperative, the player goes to the nearest toilet. At the professional league level, there should be one very close by under the grandstand. The player leaves, with a word to a teammate and to an official. The Laws of the Game, of course, make it cautionable misconduct for a player to leave the field of play, but this is intended to punish disregard of the spatial limits of the field, or unsporting departure from the field to put an opponent offside or to unsportingly quit the game. A Referee would treat leaving to answer an urgent call of nature as he would treat a need to remedy an equipment or uniform problem, allowing the player to leave the match. The player would report his return to the Referee or another official, the player’s uniform and equipment would be checked (NOT what you might be thinking!), and the Referee would beckon the player to re-enter as soon as possible, even during play, as long as the reentry causes no unfair disadvantage to the opponents. Relieving oneself on the field would be highly unsporting, causing a nuisance or unpleasantness for others, perhaps making that location on the field or ground unplayable, if only temporarily. Recreational players occasionally find themselves unable to find a sanitary convenience near the field, and it may happen that a player might need to step off the field behind the goal to “kneel in prayer” (sometimes said to be “dribbling behind the goal”) and relieve a minor need. Defecation on or near the field (a la Lineker), or in a nearby area, would be highly offensive to the Game and to the public, and once the offense was committed, unless the event was severely involuntary, a player might be cautioned for unsporting behavior. https://www.reporterswall.com/what-happens-if-a-soccer-player-needs-to-use-the-toilet-in-the-middle-of-a-match/

Barcelona are thought to have offered Lionel Messi’s iconic number 10 shirt to Philippe Coutinho, who is currently not assigned a squad number at Camp Nou. There have been calls for Barça to retire Messi’s shirt following his departure to Paris Saint-Germain, However, until others like Miralem Pjanic and Samuel Umtiti leave, it is currently the only number that is still available in the first-team squad, where shirts run from 1-24. Coutinho wore 14 for Barça last season after his old number seven was previously re-assigned to Antoine Griezmann. But the 14 shirt has since been handed to Barcelona B graduate Rey Manaj, who was added to the club’s La Liga squad alongside Memphis Depay and Eric Garcia on Saturday. Coutinho, who was left out of the opening game of the season against Real Sociedad on Sunday after only recently starting training following long-term injury, has been linked with a move to Arsenal this week as a possible makeweight in an approach for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. https://www.reporterswall.com/barcelona-offer-lionel-messis-vacant-number-10-shirt-to-philippe-coutinho/

Outgoing and controversial Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Willie Obiano, looted over N3billion from Security Vote Account in one day, according to 2017 financial documents of the state exclusively obtained. Only recently, the Nigerian Governors Forum went to court to stop the EFCC from prosecuting Governors over security vote looting. But Governor Obiano would have no one stop him from digging into the Security votes account and helping himself with as much as he wants. On January 26, 2017, the Anambra Governor went to the security votes account with number 5110032568 at Fidelity Bank and took N500million in one shot.
