Guys, i agree that u'll not get an integer for an answer, but i didnt set the question . i also tried multiplying by 6 but just looking at the question and statement in particular, you should actually add 6 to it. But its all good.

lets assume the lawn was mowed x times in a month and the laundry y times in a month. the laundry was done 6 more times than the lawn which means y=6x

he was paid $12.75 for the month which basically means: for the x times he did the lawn and 6x times he did the laundry he was paid $12.75. in mathematical terms: 0.5(6x) + 1.25x = $12.75, simplifying will give; 4.25x = 12.75; x=3

therefore he mowed the lawn thrice

I beg to differ. The questions says he does the laundry 6 more times than he mows the lawn and not he does the laundry 6 times more than he mows the lawn. i think it should be 6 + x.

I don't see what all the hulla ballo is all about. Why are those boys crying. I thnk they are just being silly as well as puerile. Honestly, i just watched the "do me" video for the first time and compared it to the "stylee" video. I don't see how their's is better than jimmy jatt's. i mean they only shot in one location and their wardrobe revolved around one mix of clothes( a jacket, one t-shirt, and jeans). The stylee video had multiple video effects, different locations. The Do me video just had hundred girls to fill up space and a camera moving up and down. Maybe the location isnt in naija but so what? Even if they didnt win, does that stop them from making money, does it mean they don't receive critical acclaim. Does it mean the nigerian populace loves them any less. I can't even understand why their are crying over a nigerian award when the likes of tuface have taken their work outside africa. Thats what they should be thinking of right now. Taking their work to another level. I know they are good, You know they are good, they know they are good so i wonder why they are crying. i find this very irritating. They didnt win doesnt mean they wont win another one. They should "man up" abeg, pop their collars and work harder to take their work out of naija, out of africa to the world.

Putting y in eqn 2 gives
x = 24 + 32 = 56

So there are 56 dimes and 24 quaters.

Lemme try. Picture this, We draw a triangle with the base line measuring 500ft to represent the distance between the two men and base angles 50 and 45 degrees on the right and left base angles respectively. To measure the height of the plane, we draw a perpendicular divide down to the base line. With that done, we have to triangles. we must imagine that the perpendicular line divides the base line also but not into half, lets say it divides it into x and 500 - x for left and right respectively. we can lable the length of the perpendicular line as y.

By rules of trigonometry

y/(500-x) = tan 45 (this is for the right triangle which happens to be right angled)
y = 500 -x (because tan 45 = 1. we call this equation 1)

y/x = tan 50 (this is for the left triangle which also happens to be right angled)
y = 1.19x (tan 50 = 1.19. we call this eqn 2)

by equating 1 and 2

1.19x = 500 - x
x = 228.31

Therefore, y which is 500 - x from eqn 1 gives 271.69ft

Area, A = x(x+1)

90 =  x(x+1) = x² + x

moving 90 to the RHS gives

x² + x - 90 = 0
(x+10)(x-9) = 0
x is either -10 or 9. -10 is impossible because its negative so x is 9cm. which means the other dimension(x+1) is 10cm

the diagonal can be gotten by pythagoras theorem. 10² +9² =  diagonal²
diagonal is sqrt of 181 which gives 13.45cm

if we reverse the eqn from the start;

x = a
x+x = x+a
2x = x+a

2a-2x = a+x-2x

if we substititute the value fro 2x on the RHS, we get

a+x-(x+a) which gives 0

the 2x in the equation is a not a single entity but a sum of two entities

So, probablity that a senior will be chosen is number of senior opportunities diviided by total number of opportunities. which is 300/800 or 3/8

Let me tell you that pidgin English can never be symbol of nature to African. It is purely an attempt by ignorant people to imitate their colonial master. It is not natural at all. But we have grown up to take it as second language. Secondly, I grew up among people who speaks pidgin, but I am not a fan of pidgin. I use it when I want to have fun and never had anyone tell me I am un-natural for that. If you want to be natural, speak your native language. Sure, we must disagree here. Talking of temperament. I didn't say emphatically that all hot-tempered people are violence. I was giving an extreme example of how it hurts. Look, beyond physical assualt, hot-tempered people can destroy your psychic if the habit is frequent. I grew up under a caring, loving, and hot tempered mum. She was never violence. But she had a way of hurting you with that temper that would remain etched in your heart forever. So the solution is to walk away and talk another day. I learn my spirit of endurance from there. I also spent my life with a quick tempered guardian. He was a violence man and would hit you at the slightest provocation. In all the years I stayed with him, he only hit me once while my colleagues got beaten everyday! Sure, it wasn't because I was loved more than others. Rather because of how I handled him.

And while I had to fled my cold-tempered mum, I am comfortable with my hot tempered guardian. Yet, other guys did the opposite of what I did.

What am I driving at? Whether cold or hot-tempered, the way you deal with them decide whether they would be violence or not. Whether you will be comfortable with them or not. I want you to consult an expert on that statement. I am ready to learn.

The bottomline is that, it has little or nothing to do with Love.
