Laughing.

An interesting tale.

But some things stood out in the narrative, that needs to be pointed out. The topic says girl in the US?but some simple English here is different from the American way of speaking.

In the US nobody uses the word GP. GP(General Practitioner)is how the British call their Doctors. Again, she used the word Flatmate. Americans do not know what flatmate means, they have room mates.

This tells me this might have happened in the UK or Ireland.
?

Spot on, it could be Beaumont in england

powerful advice. i never understand people who leave abroad to go to nigeria to look for job. sounds crazy. people need to start investing in getting skills that they can use with their own hands to set up something as opposed to trying to get college degrees and masters abroad. it is those ones who come abroad for masters and phd that come to naija looking for jobs. i know a guy who did auto-mechanic in london and i hear he is in naija now with his own shop fixing high end cars. all he needed to start up where his tools. he didnt have to look for work. got into naija and just started immediately
I learnt the hard way too, I was all about degrees and certifications.

dats good. are you in lagos or abuja ? how was the transition ? was it easy or hard ?
Abuja, every thing in nija is hard as usual lol but my advice to people relocating is to look for avenues of becoming self employed rather than coming to job hunt. look for a franchise you can bring over or learn some new skills e.g interior design, fashion, automotive etc you know we have that inferior mind set for "foreign things" with such knowledge , one will do well
BusinessRe: Want To Kick Start Your Career In Mobile Application Development by dondo83(m): 4:53pm On Oct 12, 2016
fabianUMS:
The mobile device market is growing at breakneck speed compared to the internet explosion of the mid 1990's. This growth is feeding the increased demand for mobile application developers.

As smartphones and tablets change the way people communicate, do business, shop, and access news & entertainment, the demand for new and innovative mobile applications will continue to rise as mobile devices become more capable, and an increasing number of traditional businesses develop apps to bring their products and services to the mobile marketplace. The rapid growth of mobile is creating a host of employment opportunities for both corporate and freelance mobile application developers

JOB HIRING STATS FOR MOBILE APP DEVELOPERS

According to hiring managers and IT recruiters, the demand for skilled & talented mobile application developers still far exceeds the supply. Some of the most popular industries hiring mobile app developers include video game studios, advertising and marketing firms that aim to build branded application for clients, media firms that recognize mobile as a powerful content distribution channel, government agencies and financial institutions that want to bring their core services to mobile users, software development firms and real estate agencies.

The lion's share of job opportunities will be in Android and iOS app development, as these giants represent close to 90% of all smartphones in circulation

PoliticsRe: Custom Combs Lagos Market For Smuggled Rice by dondo83(op): 9:24am On Oct 12, 2016
very good move, if the retailers dont buy smuggled rice for fear of seizure then the smugglers wont bother smuggling rice into the country
PoliticsCustom Combs Lagos Market For Smuggled Rice by dondo83(op): 9:21am On Oct 12, 2016
Officials of the Nigeria Customs Service have
stormed some markets in Lagos in search of
smuggled rice.
Their efforts led to the seizure of about six
trailer load of rice from shops at the Iddo
Railway Terminus.
Some of the rice dealers, who spoke to our
correspondent, complained that they bought
the rice from people who brought them into the
markets and had no way of knowing whether it
was smuggled or not.
The owner of a shop where the NCS men
reportedly seized 5,000 bags of rice was said
to have collapsed and was rushed to a nearby
hospital.
“The value of rice seized from her shop is over
N60m and she took a loan from the bank for
the business,” one of the dealers, who pleaded
anonymity, told our correspondent.
The source said, “They swooped on the
markets in the afternoon, brandishing guns.
They locked up the shops and went away, only
to come back in the middle of the night, around
2am to break into the shops and cart away all
the bags of rice they found there. They came
back to cart away more rice.
“Women are the ones selling in the markets,
the Customs are supposed to be at the borders
to prevent smuggled rice from coming into the
country, but they allowed the rice to come in,
only to come harassing traders with guns. We
are pleading with them to return the rice to the
traders.”
When consulted, the spokesperson for the NCS,
Mr. Wale Adeniyi, said the organisation was
empowered by law to impound any product
suspected to be smuggled wherever such
product could be found.
He said, “The rice was smuggled. We got
information that the consignment was taken to
a particular place and we went there.
“It is a message to smugglers that it is not
just enough to bring goods across the border
into the country; the goods can be seized even
when they are in the country.”
Adeniyi advised Nigerians to desist from act of
smuggling and go through the legitimate route
to bring in their goods.
The NCS has maintained its ban on the
importation of rice through the land borders.
The country consumes six million metric tonnes
of rice annually. Local production accounts for
less than 40 per cent, leaving a wide gap,
which is filled by importation and smuggling.
According to the Federal Government, prices of
rice which have risen to between N20,000 and
N22,000 per 50kg bag from about N7,000 in
2015, are expected to come down in November.
The NCS has also set 2017 as a target to stop
the importation of rice.

He became Governor because the Godfathers chose him and he served within just one year... 1992-1993.

He was Chairman of ANPP that couldn't win his Polling Unit, Ward and LGA not to talk of state. In fact, he couldn't make anybody a councillor since 1999.

Oyegun became Chairman due to the magnanimity of Tinubu, because nobody sees him as powerful in the scheme of things. Ikimi, another clown would have buried him in 2014 Convention.

Oyegun DID NOT lead APC to Victory in 2015, Tinubu(50%), Buhari (30%) and others (20%) did. Oyegun that couldn't win his Polling Unit. If not for Oshiomole, PDP would have won Edo 100% and by landslide.

Oyegun is NOT great. He is less than average.

PoliticsAfdb Approves $1b Loan To Nigeria by dondo83(op): 5:48pm On Sep 26, 2016
African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved $1 billion loan towards meeting the deficits in Nigeria’s 2016 Budget, believed to partly responsible for the country’s economic crisis. The loan is provided at 1.2 percent interest rate. AfDB President, Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, disclosed these to State House correspondents on Monday after meeting with Vice President and other members of the Economic Management Team (EMT) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Stressing that Nigeria is the largest shareholder of the bank, Akinwunmi said the bank is in Nigeria to offer its strong support to the country as it faces tough time. He said: ” African Development Bank (AfDB), we have a very strong delegation team to meet Vice President and the economic management team. The bank’s largest shareholder is Nigeria. It is very important for me to be here and to talk to the Nigerian government about the challenges and opportunities that are in Nigeria. “I think the times are difficult and there is no doubt about that. But I want to commend the government for being bold in taking the right decisions. I think that the fact that the price of crude oil has gone down, is a big challenge because you have 98 per cent external forex revenue coming from the sector. “So it has created calibrations, I’m not going to go into the details of all the problems but what is important is what we are going to do about it. “I’m not here to lecture the Nigerian government. I’m here to support very strongly. We have said that we are going to support the Nigerian government with the budget support to be able to deal with some of fiscal imbalance that they have. We are looking to consider for an award of $1 billion to help to deal with that particular deficit.”

It marvels me how this govt keeps denying possession of sufficient revenue even when it is glaring that immense funds keeps pouring in into their coffers. The 4.3+trn recovered from looters, the 1.4trn saved from fuel subsidy removal, the immeasurable external grants, the revenue from rail way systems and other govt parastatals, the taxes and rates. and above all, the enormous revenue sourced from crude oil exports are not sufficient to revive the economy?
the problem of this govt is incompetence, cluelessness and confusion.
nah village then recover the 4trillion? just kidding no vex.
1. The 1.8million barrels isn't up to what was used for budget (2million plus) meaning there isn't any surplus momey yet

2. The 4.3 trillion you claim has been recovered cant be touched until the court has given its judgment

3.. if u told me you saved 1naira by not going to a restaurant to eat , does it mean the restaurant gave you an additional 1k or you saved from the momey in your pocket? if its the latter Then you should know that no additional 1.4trillion came into fg's pocket rather they reduced expenditure
