Agriculture / Fg Commissions 1st Agribusiness Resource Center To Boost Agric Sector Investemen by dondo83(m): 10:44pm On Oct 30, 2017
The federal government has launched Nigeria Agribusiness Resource Center; the first agriculture-oriented information hub in the country; to enhance information flow for business and increase investments in the sector.

The resource center was commissioned in the Agribusiness and Market Development Department of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Utako area, Abuja by the Permanent Secretary, Bukar Hassan, who represented the Minister, Audu Ogbeh.

Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Bukar Hassan inaugurating the Resource Centre

Present to witness the occasion were top executives of AfricaLead and United States Agency for International Development (USAID); partners to the project. Also in attendance were officials from Department for International Development (DFID), National Sugar Development Council (NSDC), National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANTS) and farmers involved in ginger, cashew, sesame, cocoa, fish and potato production.

In his address, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Bukar Hassan affirmed that the project is in line with Nigeria’s Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) and will promote agricultural investments in the country.

He further stated that the project will solve the challenge of inadequate information often encountered by agripreneurs and investors willing to do business or already engaged in various agribusinesses in the country.

Meanwhile, Regional Director, West-Africa of AfricaLead, Carla Denizard, speaking exclusively with AgroNigeria, mentioned that AfricaLead supported the federal government in financing the establishment of both the physical structure of the agribusiness resource center as well as its online platform.

“AfricaLead will place a young professional advisor in the center who will work full-time to assist the agribusiness development team of FMARD. The organisation also looks forward to offering seminars on agribusiness and entrepreneurship as well as a boot-camp course to sustain agripreneurship in the country” she added.

In another exclusive interview with AgroNigeria, Director, MDF West-Africa and Technical Advisor to AfricaLead, Richard Yeboah assured that the Nigeria Agribusiness Resource Centre would be a one-stop information hub for all seeking information on Nigeria’s agriculture value chain.

Director, MDF West-Africa and Technical Advisor to AfricaLead, Richard Yeboah speaking at the event
“The center, which is equipped with advanced computer systems, high-speed internet, training materials and updated reports would help link agripreneurs with investors and development partners. A lot of information on Nigeria’s value chain exist but are scattered. This resource center has corrected this challenge with proper organisation of data and will provide accurate information on enquiries like how to start an agribusiness or how to export agriculture produce.” he said.

The Nigeria Agribusiness Resource Center is designed to strengthen the country’s agricultural value chain with reliable information on investment opportunities as the federal government foresees the commissioning of more centers across the nation soon

Politics / Kebbi's Rice Pyramid Vs Ekiti's Stomach's Infrastructure..please Be The Judge by dondo83(m): 7:58pm On Aug 05, 2017
KEBBI'S RICE PYRAMID VS OREMEKUNU STOMACH INFRATSRUCTURE

Fayose became the Governor of Ekiti state in 2014 while Baguda became Governor of Kebbi state in 2015, while Baguda took N4bn to BOI, got counter funding and got 78,000 people cultivating rice (employment), my own governor Fayose took N4.7 to build the first flyover in Ekiti state, while the farmers in Kebbi have sold their rice to Lagos state (LAKE RICE) and have moved on to increasing their farm size, my Governor is still battling with how to complete the humongous project that won't provide a single sustainable job.

While the Kebbi state Governor saw the potentials in processing by partnering with WACOT to provide a N10 billion rice mill that have a production capacity of 100,000 tonnes annually; silos for storing 18,000 tonnes of paddy and a warehouse for storing additional 12,000 tonnes of paddy. When operational, it is expected to generate direct and indirect employment for 3,500 people and its procurement will reach out to 50,000 farmers my own Governor Fayose has approved the construction of another governor's office, another high court, reconstruction of the road to his village (even though its next to mine) for several billions of naira.

Kebbi state is not owing any salary and the state government didn't blame it on PMB whereas Ekiti is owing pensioners as much as 11months while civil servants have 6months unpaid salaries, the difference between these Governors is called good governance with the people at the centre of it.

If you think Fayose is your best Governor because he gives people 1kg of rice plus N500, you need to have your head examined especially if you are from Ekiti state, for those of you that are not from Ekiti state and assume Fayose is the best governor because he insults PMB, you are part of the larger problem, please go to your state and compare your Governor with Kebbi state Governor, after that, come back and make your comment

NOTE - Baguda inherited N83bn debt from the previous government, he didn't blame it on the past government

Agriculture / How Can I Break The Monopoly In Selling My Ugu by dondo83(m): 4:09pm On Jul 19, 2017
Hello house , I need suggestions from experienced ugu farmers . I am having a lot of challenges selling of my ugu as at when due... The market women decides when to buy , price and the duration before they harvest ... After selling the vegetables, they let us stay as long as 1 week before cutting which affects my own profit while they make more money . It's really discouraging and I'm thinking of how to cut them off if possible .

In first class you can have sex on the plane , the drink and food is limitless unlike economy that each passenger has a certain portion . Also you don't get to stay in the general area while waiting to board , there are beautiful lounges prepared for you. Lastly as a Nigerian who likes traveling heavy with loads , you have more baggage allowance

After he waited for 5houts my boss gave him an audience, the first thing he did was prostrate totally and greeted my boss . My boss said nooooo after abusing me on several newspapers why are you in my office acting nice? Guess his reply? Oga if youths like us don't abuse you , how will we get your attention! The Ibos want Biafra
The North wants Ibo's exit
The Yorubas want Ibo's exit
The Ibos are saying "we have investments in your areas and cannot leave them"
And the fight is being cooked.

Amongst all these, the President is in London
Governors are sharing bailout funds
Workers salaries are not paid
Government officials have their children schooling abroad
Ministers and senators are looting

The poor Hausa man is riding Okada
The poor Ibo man is riding Okada
The poor Yoruba man is riding Okada

The poor Hausa man sleeps under the bridge as Alamajiri
The poor Yoruba man sleeps under the bridge as Alaye
The poor Ibo man sleeps under the bridge as agbero

It is pertinent to note that the poor from all ethnic groups in Nigeria have everything in common and so is the rich.

Do not allow the agitation of an Ibo man who lives in UK or USA for Biafra cause the killing of the Ibo man in Adamawa. The rich hate us that much.
Do not allow the Alhaji whose children are living abroad to persuade you to go and start killing on the street of Kaduna.

The problem in the country is not the agitation of any ethnic group but the unity of the elite and the disunity of the masses.

How many times have you taken your agitation to question your local government Chairmen?

Why have you not asked your Governors through agitation how they spent bailout fund?

Why have you not agitated against that government official whose mansions you go to beg for help?

Sad to note;
All the Governors love themselves
All the past Presidents love themselves
All the senators love themselves
All the top government officials love themselves
All the looters love themselves

Why can't you and I love ourselves?
Why cant we combine efforts and fight them?
Why do we fight ourselves?
Why do we allow them the freedom we don't have?

Remember; a good Nigeria is better than a good Arewa, Oduduwa or Biafra.

Happy Sunday.

[quote author=olujastro post=57371452]Not a bad idea. But why do we have to get the city dirty and start cleaning it every day? Europe wey clean, dem get 10 heads?
Metallic waste bins should be constructed and stationed at every bus stop, inside all buses, trains and at strategic places on the roads.
Nigerians should as well learn to use waste bins and not throw out rubbish on the roads, especially through the window when on a journey. I get disgusted when I see people doing that. Wait till you get to a nearby bin or take it home.
Cleanliness is next to godliness. [/quite. Who told you they don't clean in Europe? Lol they do sir. Major streets and high street is been swept everyday

The other 20 is shared by the states you mentioned and ondo state. What is special in that? Lagos has oil well now and even lake chad!
