If in my 10 years on nairaland, the only "incriminating" post of tribalism is one made off the cuff, then you really have no case. Funny enough I've stated countlessly that I could care less about tribe, country of pan African sentiments. I see myself first and foremost as a human, with 6 billion brothers and sisters. All these "identities" are really primordial. |
nihilistjnr:This is where the bastard in you surfaces. On the day, Tinubu's wife is outed as a tribalistic bigot who hates igbos. Someone publicly telling a beggar "we no dey trust Igbo again". A rhetoric that has become a soundbite for a lot of hardened xenophobic tribalists, a man of Igbo extraction is saying that Tinubu has igbos best interest at heart when everyone around him is saying the exact opposite. One questions his thinking faculty. It's not even about me, it's about him. But of course, agenda must agend. |
liveLongNprospa:You dey mind all these fools. ![]() They're simply pricked by their consciences for supporting a rotten candidate and wishing him upon Nigerians. What you're seeing from some is the outpouring of shamefulness from supporting a parkinson's patient as president. Hence the outbursts. Wicked people. We will keep giving them back to back. You're doing very well my brother. These radical tribalists will never have their way. |
nihilistjnr:Oga stop disgusing. You've mostly overlooked the heavy baggage that comes from a Tinubu candidacy while coming down hard on everything Obi centric. You tacitly support the man. Own the shit up, man. |
OasisX:This is mindfuckery of the highest level. I keep saying it that all you people know is gaslighting and propaganda. I made my point showing you how one candidate here has a massive and diversified appeal whuke the other is largely regional. There are 8 Tinubu supporters on this thread. 7 are Yoruba, the only non Yoruba supporter is an Islamic terrorist drawn by religious inclination by the Boko Haram founder. Obi has 20 supporters on this thread spanning across different tribes and regions. we have an edo man's support, ijaw man, Yoruba man etc. What does that show you?? The point I'm making is that you're candidate is deeply unpopular across board. Nobody in his right senses will see a funsho Williams murderer, a money launderer, a Chicago drug baron and support such a hideous criminal with his full chest. Only deep seethed tribalism can make one be attracted to a Tinubu candidacy. You can't see fried rice in between cow shit and elephant shit and choose one of the shits to eat. It simply makes no sense, NONE WHATSOEVER to support an 86 year old Parkinson patient, especially one from the APC which has plunged Nigeria until the precipice of becoming a failed state. Your candidate smells. His baggage is too much. Nobody in his right senses should be going close to him but what tribalism cannot do doesn't exist. |
EmmanuelScott1:Expect raumdeuter the black Hitler to start making excuses as to why Tinubu shouldn't attend debate just like he did below. very wicked soul who doesn't wish nigeria well. All he wants is to satisfy his tribalistic demonic hunger.

donstan18:I said you should pretend for a minute we know ourselves and are good friends offline and communicate maturedly, not the usual name-calling. |
2023: Obi’s sudden ascent represents a rare chance for Nigeria, says The Economist The Economist of London says the “sudden ascent” of Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), represents a “rare chance” for Nigeria. According to an article published on Monday, and titled ‘Peter Obi, A Man Who Carries His Own Suitcases, Could Be Nigeria’s Next President’, The Economist, however, said there is still much for the LP candidate to do to get the required votes across the country. “As public campaigning was about to begin in late September, Nigeria was rocked by the release of three polls showing Mr Obi well ahead of the two candidates representing the main parties that have mis-ruled Nigeria since the restoration of its democracy in 1999,” the article reads. “In two of the polls Mr Obi has a lead of more than 15 percentage points over Bola Tinubu, of the incumbent All Progressives Congress (APC), and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the main opposition. “What makes this even more extraordinary is that Mr Obi is standing for the Labour Party, whose candidate at the previous presidential election in 2019 won just 5,074 votes out of 28m cast. “Mr Obi’s sudden ascent represents a rare chance for Nigeria. The country ought to be rich: it has huge reserves of oil, gas and other minerals, plenty of fertile land and a young population of go-getters. Yet Nigerians are poorer today than they were ten years ago and 40% of them survive on less than $1.90 a day. “The reasons why Nigeria is poor are rotten politics, bad governance and corruption. Politicians in Nigeria have long stirred up ethnic and religious divisions by promising to direct state resources to members of their own group. “Once in power they have pursued contorted economic policies such as a fixed exchange rate and massive fuel subsidies. Some policies seem to make sense only as a way of allowing cronies to siphon off cash.” The Economist describes APC’s Tinubu and PDP’s Atiku as not offering much in terms of developmental change, while citing previous allegations linking both candidates to crimes in the US. For Obi, the article also cites the Pandora Papers report on his alleged refusal to declare his assets. The Economist, however, said while there is no guarantee that Obi winning the presidency will automatically address issues such as corruption, “if he were to sustain his lead until the election in February, he would be the first politician in decades to show that a new sort of politics is possible in Nigeria”. The article, which also features comments from The Economist’s interview with Obi, makes reference to the LP candidate’s rising popularity, including among youths and on social media, while describing him as an “unlikely revolutionary”. “Mr Obi’s surging popularity is due, above all, to perceptions of his character. In a country cursed by politicians of extraordinary ego and entourage, his supporters marvel that as governor Mr Obi queued at airports holding his own luggage,” the article reads. “He also slashed the size of his motorcade when he found that 13 of the cars were empty, he says. This not only plays well with young voters, but also annoys his rivals. “Kashim Shettima, Mr Tinubu’s running-mate, grumbles that Mr Obi “tends to glamorise poverty” by claiming to own only one watch. (Mr Shettima, who likes smart watches, says he “has more than two or three”.)” https://www.thecable.ng/2023-obis-sudden-ascent-represents-a-rare-chance-for-nigeria-says-the-economist/amp |
Giving Obi a chance in 2023 would not be largesse to the bespectacled ascetic what is at stake transcends one man he is just a catalyst for the new Nigeria we desire. It is more about the things his emergence would represent: that the people come first, that democracy must indeed be of the people, by the people and for the people. That anyone can emerge as president no matter what part of the country they come from or how they worship, as long as they are best suited for the job; that people with the sheer power to vote can sack the stale politicians with their shopworn ideas and toxicity. Nigeria at this time needs a visionary, not an emperor. We must wrest ourselves from the manacles of those who have held us bound and have become entitled to our commonwealth. We must shun prejudices as we forge ahead to become a prosperous nation. We must make this Obi experiment now and turn the tide against the political elite because fortune only favours the brave. It is in our hands. |
You have oasis the radical propagandist here basically campaign for Tinubu in Yoruba language here. Like, his posts are always yoruba-centric in nature. Sometimes it's like he's literally communicating to only his Yoruba kinsmen here, so you shouldn't be surprised when one says he and dayo (Hitler) represents the core of Tinubu supporters.

Donstan18, I want us to talk. Like, let's talk maturedly for a second, let's put aside the nascent acrimony between us here and pretend for a second, we are good friends offline. I want us to talk about effects of governance in our lives, bad leadership and the way forward. So let me start with a question, donstan18, do you think you are affected negatively by the effects of bad governance? Do you think political leadership is important to our lives in any way? Have you ever aligned closely with any candidate before? Donstan18, I'm hoping you do justice to these questions. |
liveLongNprospa:What I mean is that people who follow tinubu do that from the prism of tribal lens. I mean, you just heard nihilist say the exact same thing and justify it. To make my point clearer, look at it this way, there is only one candidate having a wide national appeal right now and that's peter obi. Look at this thread as a case study, every single staunch Tinubu supporter is a yoruba person while Peter Obi supporters are diversified. From sege, an edo boy, to Ibime an ijaw man, to blueraydick (leaning obi) a yoruba man. Why does the yellow teeth-stained drug baron not have that diversified appeal? Why is it that only oasis, larride, dayo (Hitler), ribbit, nihilist, afrodoc, ALL OF THEM, like , EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM ARE YORUBA support the yellow teeth-stained drug baron? The only non-yoruba folk supporting Tinubu here is the radical islamic terrorist here who is attracted by their founder shettima being on the ticket. So ask yourself again, why is Tinubu's supporter mostly from his tribe? You look at Tinubu, you see an 86 year old Parkinson patient and you're attracted to him, how? Right after experiencing the death of a sitting president and the failure of an ailing president. You read Tinubu's history, you see one filled with absolute criminality, yet you are attracted to him, not that you've even heard from him adequately to know exactly his intentions for you but you admire him? Tell me that's not tribal sentiment at play. So yes, those core Tinubu supporters are tribalists. It's not an insult to the yoruba race as a whole but a segment of supporters. |
All Obidients should try and sensitive other nairalanders to the manipulation efforts of the APC campaign to shape public opinion and narratives here. Many of the bat supporters and comments you see here are from accounts paid for that purpose. To artificially amplify their support knowing that Nigerians have firmly rejected them. You see an unusual number of likes on some pro-Tinubu comments or one person commenting multiple times on a particular thread, these are strategic efforts by them to shape opinion. Sensitive others to this, share these pictures below. Let others be aware and not be decieved. Only together can we defeat their purpose. |
BlueRayDick:You made soo much sense in this post and I agree with the sentiment although I think the very last line is a faulty premise. It's fair to say that internet penetration especially in the south is up to 75 percent. Internet is not only nairaland and Twitter. A lot of people use Facebook, opera news and especially Whatsapp. These are mediums for smaller phones. Our internet growth in the last 10 years has been sporadic. Anybody underestimating the power of social media in today's age is really getting it wrong. Blueraydick, let me ask you this, off the tip of your head, how many of your relatives under 60 years don't have access to internet? Of all my relatives both paternal and maternal, I can only think of one. The one who doesn't speak English in the village. Just the one, but the person is very adept at local politics. Very aware of governance and actions of government officials. So I ask again, how many friends and relatives close to you don't have access to internet? Traditional media houses like TV stations, radio stations and newspaper even source their news now primarily from social media. So you can't underrate the power of social media but yes I agree with the sentiment here that we should argue less with BATstards, seeing that they've sold their consciences. |
Soo much hate in one's heart towards an entire group. Foolishness of the highest order. |
Let's not forget the idiot_ that said these.
|
liveLongNprospa:You, my friend, have been doing an excellent job in your defense of your convictions. We are on the right side of this! History will remember that this was the year, the average Nigerian stood up and said enough is enough! These enemies and demons will try hard to dissuade the movement but they will fail empathetically. Good job brother. |
Nigerians are lining up behind a credible alternative. Nigerians want to send a message to the ruling class that business cannot continue to be as usual. And in Obi we see a man of relative integrity, simplicity, humility and public service. But these evil enemies of our country have decided to engage in gaslightings and mental manipulations to try and justify why they would support and maintain the status quo, right after laughing in our faces when the dollarization of our politics was ongoing. God will judge you all |
This is who these BATstards want us to vote for!! This living corpse is who these wicked people are supporting. Shame on all of you. You want Nigerians to maintain status quo. You want us to continue suffering daily blackouts, runaway inflation, deadly and violent insecurity, poor infrastructure, poor health care, poor public education. Thunder fire all of you!! All you must be deported to come back and see what the average Nigerian goes through. Heartless souls.
|
I see the shameless BATstards and urchins have regrouped and ganged up after suddenly finding their voice with propaganda afoot. Notice that the most vocal of the BATstards are the ones abroad who are far detached from our reality. I've always maintained that these people are the most wicked of wickedness known to man. They are vexed and saddened by the fact that Nigerians have decided to fight for their country. Thta the people have arisen to take back power from the criminals in government. You will all be put to shame!! Next year can't come soon enough. Livlongnprospa, more grease to your elbows. You're doing fantastically well. |
This shit is really cracking me up. ![]()
|
donstan18:What does being tribalistic have to do with being that stupid to post that shit? I mean, he knows very well that he's telling lies but he still does it anyway, so what's the motivation? |
Nice one from the Obidients. This movement is divine. God will answer our prayers and make Peter Obi the president of this nation. We can't continue like this. Meanwhile all Obidients should try and sensitive other nairalanders to the manipulation efforts of the APC campaign to shape public opinion and narratives here. Many of the bat supporters and comments you see here are from accounts paid for that purpose. To artificially amplify their support knowing that Nigerians have firmly rejected them. Sensitive others to this, share these pictures below. Let others be aware and not be decieved. Only together can we defeat their purpose. |
Donstan18 you still haven't answered. What is your opinion of this submission below?
|
donstan18:Well, it's their business where they want to stick their parts into. They are both grown men who have made it in life. If that is their choice like millions of others around the world too, then what is your business with them? What concerns you with it? Abi you wan join them? |
donstan18:Why are you mentioning me to this? Have you answered the question I asked you about dayo? As to your statement? What is wrong with them being gay? Is there anything wrong with 2 people falling in love with themselves? It's a pity they had to hide their love from the public or risk losing their careers. If this is true, I wish them the best of life and a happy union. Satisfied? |
Itsrm:Jonathan was much better than Buhari! Calling Jonathan a disaster is extreme especially when we've truly seen the meaning of that word under this present administration. But all the same, this is why we're saying bye bye to both parties. Obi wouldn't be strong armed by the old party structures that have arm twisted previous administration. If Tinubu wins, he would also be caught in a web of the establishment of which he is already a part of. If I'm lying, can you tell me why Tinubu has NEVER spoken out against this administration despite the numerous failures? Show me where Tinubu condemned the discovery of this oil theft, or the numerous corruption cases. Has Tinubu even campaigned on eradicating corruption?? That's why we must do away with the two parties. LP winning is an absolute shock to the system. It's a revolution, let's all key in
|
As I said, Bleeding votes!
|
Donstan18, please answer this question, be a man. Stop running away from this. What is your opinion on this submission below.
|
I'm looking at this gloriousbola guy and sensing an alternate of the Black Hitler himself. |
patrickmuf:I have always maintained that the electorate is still being shaped and 3 days in politics is too long. What I drop are facts, like how one candidate is the most popular across the internet. How one man's emergence led to the rush for PVCs due to the massive sensitization carried out by his followers. The APC is bleeding votes all over while the LP is gaining massive momentum all over. Do you seriously think the APC will have more votes than they got in 2019? You really underrate our collective intelligence? You also definitely know that LP will score far more votes than whatever they've had before. Like FAR MORE! So these are facts! Not permutations. |
liveLongNprospa:Some of you think I don't know what I'm doing when I'm bombastic and militant with these people. These people are evil!!! These people are demons!!! From Oasis the propagandist who does like a rat, blowing your wounds gently while biting you, to the shameless party agent to the devilish tribalistic Hitler himself. All these people are DEMONS!! They don't care about this country. They just want their own man there and that's all, despite all the warning signs and red flags. Despite the rich history of failure and corruption in the APC leadership. God will punish all these people. |
