If you can, please tune in to BBC, channel 400. They're playing a documentary termed "The cost of being an atheist". If you recall, many months ago, there was furore in Kano because a certain Mubarak Bala was arrested and charged to Court because he said "there is no God" on the Radio station. It was termed "blasphemy" even though he no longer identifies as a Muslim. That Mubarak has been sentenced to 24 years in prison. The documentary is quite eye opening on Soo many levels, from the complication of jurisdiction and inter-affairs of Sharia law to the Nigerian constitution. And the extremity of the sentencing. Do tune in if you can. |
Before will they come out and own it with their chest?? They must lie to cover face because no one in his right senses will support Tinubu and the APC. |

It's been a very long time I was active on this thread. Where is that sonoflincoln guy, where is the guy that uses to call himself kophmerchen or something? Anyways, I would like you guys to define what a centrist really is? To do that, I would like the right wing supporters here to very briefly list the extreme points of the far left and the left wing supporters here to briefly list the far right extremist positions. I'll give an example, a far left position is allowing abortion until the point of birth. I think that's murder. A far right extremist position is Christian nationalism. One where people are expected to live by the edicts of the Bible. Am I wrong?? Please exclude foreign policy as I think both parties are basically the same in this aspect and any POTUS is expected to do anything to maintain America's super power status. Cc. Basilico, belavino1, feedthenation, sexywale1, obrigado, budatuum etc. Please no insults. |
Tataffo:Oasis he has thrown a challenge. |
Tataffo:Oya nihilistjnr the slave, come and defend your master. Come and explain why your master is calling awolowo's wife "HIV awolowo". Come and let us understand why your master wants to eliminate Obasanjo's lineage. |
Jobless people that were paid for. Obidatti is a goal. |
seankafor:I hope you've Read this.

Sorry for the minor digression. Announcement: Nigerians should not allow themselves be decieved by the noise of the pro-apc posters here. While everyone knows that Peter Obi support here is organic and natural from the average user of nairaland, the APC employ people for the sole purpose of artificially amplifying the parties talking points on social media. So you have few people, creating multiple accounts and generating fake likes and attacking people who want an escape from the misrule of APC. Don't fall for it, see the owner of nairaland complaining against these people. Don't be decieved and make sure you sensitise others so they won't be decieved.

My daily notice. Do well to read through and digest this very well.

A reminder that the Obidients own this space. There is no corner of the internet safe for agbado men to safely spread their propaganda. Propaganda cannot overshadow the realities of Nigerians. For every outspoken Obi supporter here, there a 5 more silent ones in the background..
|
A001:I was so glad reading this from you. This fills me with joy. So happy you've finally decided.. Can't wait to experience the ballot revolution Next year.. I've said it countlessly, Obi isn't running for presidency, Nigerians are running through him.. it's time to tell the ruling class that enough is enough. |
I'm going to reply this post paragraph by paragraph because it has substance but also laced with falsehood and disingenity. OasisX:This is your first lie, how would you ask me with a straight face, " what is my business with this administration" when you basically come here every single damn day to regurgitate the governments propaganda and copy and paste it's talking point. From audio victories against terrorists, to audio contracts awarded and outright falsehoods, you are literally a government spokesperson on this thread. You've always tried to paint the government here well while never posting the negative developments Nigerians are encountering daily. OasisX:Choosing a candidate to support to lead you should not be based on just one factor. There are different metrics, indices and factors a candidate should meet up to before being viable for office. Competence (ability to lead), character (relative personal moral standing and behaviour), Physical and health status, impact (legacy, effect and symbolism of candidate's victory). I will try to very briefly explain those points and in relation to both candidates. No 1, Impact, what is the legacy, the effect and the symbolism of Obi's candidacy? Let me start with an example, Obama winning in 2008 broke so many racial barriers in American democracy. His candidacy and presidency was highly symbolic in the sense that it healed the scars of America's dark racial past and opened doors that were previously shut to black people in America. How does this relate to Obi. As I've said severally before, an Obi win will be Earth shattering, the effects and implications of Obi winning the presidency next year would send waves across the country and continent. A whole lot of Nigerias will then understand the power they have when they unite against bad leadership and representation. Nigerians just picking a tiny party and making it the ruling party. Politicians become accountable as a result of this. Our democracy and governance improves instantly. It's impact is felt instantly. As for the symbolism and legacy of Obi's supposed win, just like Obama, Obi winning next year's election shows that the nation has healed from the tribal divisions and deep animosity from the past. An Obi presidency symbolises that igbos are no longer looked at suspiciously or marginalized but are embraced as brother's of the nation too. Now for Tinubu, voting Tinubu simply signals business as usual. A kakistocracy and a plutocracy. It signals a continuation of the present ruling class, this government and its components which will inevitably lead to the same results. Tinubu's candidacy doesn't bear the same symbolism which an Obi candidacy does. Now number 2. Physical and health status: I don't need to talk too much here. You already know which candidate is younger, healthier, more energetic and capable of bearing the huge physical responsibilities of leading 200 million people. A presidents job entails Constantly travelling, Constantly attending meetings, Inspecting projects and developments across the entire country. Attending emergencies. Alacrity and sharp mental acuity. Need I go on? Between both candidates, who will handle this best? Tell yourself the truth. An 86 year old or a 61 year old. Number 3, character. I'm sure I also don't need to talk much here. Even you cannot say Tinubu has a better moral standing and better character than Obi. One has never been a defendant in court. That is, he's never had to defend himself for any negative case whatsoever in any court while the other is an international criminal with criminal cases and indictments both home and abroad. Don't forget that Tinubu has faced corruption and embezzlement charges in Nigeria to add to his drug related and money laundering cases abroad. Small detail to note, Tinubu's physical appearance indicates a person who was or is a habitual user of drugs to which his current ailment is also an indicator to. Competence; this is where I score both fair. This is Tinubu's only selling point. Honestly I do not know much about Tinubus governance seeing as many of us were too young when he was governor and have to rely on his owned media channels to toot his own horns. But what I don't think anyone would say is that he was a failure. But this is exactly the same with Obi. Aside politics, no one would say he was a failure. So it's very fair to say both have competence based on pedigree. Soo now, I revert back to an earlier statement, you cannot use only one metric to support a candidate. Yes, Tinubu is competent but is he healthy enough, Is he in the right party, surrounded by the right people? What are the effects of a Tinubu presidency. He has failed the character test. He came out to tell us his entitlement to the office. He believes its his right and that is a failure of character and dignity. OasisX:As I've stated above with all my reasons Obi side by side with Tinubu is just non debatable. Why?? Go up and read my points again. When you've done that, there's no doubt left that your purpose for strongly advocating for your candidate is based on primordial sentiment which is tribalism. |
OasisX:By "sensible discourse", you mean gaslighting people into believing that this administration has tried and done very well and deserves to continue for 8 more years, right?? Your idea of "sensible discourse" is to deny that the candidate you support isn't a frail sick man that cannot in any rational way bear the burden and responsibility of 200 million people. "Sensible discourse" when you cannot even answer me as to the basic information of the candidate you support. Where can the sensible discourse start from if you yourself are denying our own reality ? |
OasisX:Yes of course, you continue to prove to us that we Nigerians in the country are just seen as pawns to you. You think our lives are a joke, that's why serious political issues being discussed are seen as "cruise". Carry on baba!! Until you hear that herdsmen have overrun your village or foreign countries block Nigerians from going there. Shebi Port Harcourt to Lagos flight is now 130k. Don't worry. Continue catching your cruise while our pocket burns. |
reccy:So who are you voting for? Shebi you're voting wisely? |
Emaprince:Like!!!!!! It runs sooo deep in his heart. Kai! What kind of mindset will one have to write these? |
Meanwhile as seen on the front page, the real omoluabis are showering the incoming with econiums and praises. https://www.nairaland.com/7417082/adf-afenifere-others-eulogise-peter Just take a look. |
raumdeuter:Obi is the outsider with the best chance of winning. Multiple polls have him in the lead. Any poll conducted online has Obi with the lead. Even on this thread, Obi is the most popular candidate. If we had any other 3rd force with a decent chance of winning, I'll be there. Meanwhile can you explain this post below? Why are you threathining Obasanjo's lineage?? What offence did Obasanjo commit here?
