NYSC / Re: If Making An Average Of N750, 000 Per Month Still Looks Difficult For You. by donlet(m): 4:24am On Aug 03, 2021
For a very long time, I used to think making 750k per month is only for oil company workers, until I saw what Toyin Omotosho was doing.

He was using email marketing to promote affiliate products and that earned him over 9 Million in 12 months which is an average of 750k per month.

If you are serious about making such amount, I will advice you click on the link below to see exactly how he was doing it.

It's better to learn from people who have got similar or better results than you desire to get.

NYSC / Re: 5 Things To Do After NYSC by donlet(m): 8:58pm On Aug 02, 2021
Dapromzy333:
NYSC (National Youth Service Corp) as we all know is a platform where graduates from different tertiary institution, come together for a year in various state to serve their father’s land. To some it is an interesting phenomenon while to others it’s like hell in a packaged form.
[
This article is not based on NYSC but on what happens after NYSC.

Some has finished their service year, while others will soon be through and then move on to the next phase of life. This means no more alert from Federal Pocket, PPA (Place of Primary Assignment) or the State Government, like it or not, this is a pure fact. But those that are extremely very lucky or those that are vigilant of the present economic trend in Nigeria will strive to success.

Those that will earnestly search for knowledge and opportunities will also succeed, those that know the dig dong search strategies will eventually find opportunities, those that are ambitious will find a lucrative business to do and those that are lazy will stay at home to realize when they are old . So which category will you belong to after your service year? Many Nigerian graduates still sit back at home or some even tend to join the labour market movement filled with millions of graduates who are also looking for the so called “White collar Job” which in turn is tantamount to unemployment among Nigerian youths.

Recently, out of the 13,000 applications received by Dangote group of companies for graduates executive truck drivers, there were 6 PhD. holders, 704 MSC and over 8,460 BSc holders, even though the company only needed 100 drivers, almost 13,000 were received mostly from graduates of reputable universities. More so, according to the federal ministry of labor and productivity, it was stated that the mandatory NYSC, more than 41% of Nigerian graduates are without employment. The Bureau for Statistics added that over 50% of youths in Nigeria are jobless, while the world bank puts the figure at 56% considering the country’s estimated population of about 167 million and 60 million jobless , these figures are alarming and poses a great threat to the economic growth and development of a Nation with the highest concentration of black people on earth.

To avoid being on the negative side of Nigeria situation after service year, there are some things you need to keep your self doing, which brings about the question, What next after service year?

1. DEVELOP YOURSELF

For the first few months after service, most will remain very idle and will have nothing doing. These first few months can be used in personal development of one’s self. Mentally, Physically, and in all ramification. Pick a skill and learn more about it, Pick up the books you have been procrastinating to read and read up. There are various books out there that can be used to develop yourself. From inspirational to spiritual to business and lots more. If already you have what you good at, you can as well develop on it.

2. LEARN A TRADE

Sounds awkward to the ears of someone that just finished service, right? As for me, it doesn’t. Learning a trade after NYSC does not deprive you of your integrity or speaks less of you. If you check the background of some of the top rice people in your locality or Nigeria at large, you will find out that they were into trade before they started making millions out of it. Learning a trade is not something to look down on, but an avenue to increase financially. It may be tiring and discouraging for some while after you start, but like the saying “Good things don’t come easily”, so while learning a trade also learn to also have an enduring spiritual.

3. CREATE A GOOD BUSINESS PLAN AND EXECUTE

Start up that dream business you have been nursing for long. Ben (surname withheld) did his service at NNPC towers Abuja, a very good place if you must ask me, a lot of connections and opportunities. Every month he got his “alawee” as popularly called amongst corp members, he bought clothes and shoes bags and fancy wrist watches just because he believed he needed to impress the other workers. Wrong motive I say because today he’s going through fasting and prayer just to get a job. While Daniel (Surname Withheld ) did his at a certain Ondo company, not well known and he even had issues with some months payments, but he saved up half of his allowance monthly and now he has his own functioning business. The difference between Ben and Daniel is that Daniel had a good plan laid down and a way of saving up to finance that plan from the general #19,800 all corp members receive monthly which he used to execute his plan.

4. FURTHER YOUR EDUCATION

To those of you who are the career driven types, you can decide to further your education by getting MSC (Masters) in the field of your choice. Search through accredited institutions before applying for your master’s program. Some will say no money to fund them. Common! there are lots of scholarship programs out there, if not full then half, you can just Google search through, apply and you might be lucky. It is okay to do your master’s degree program, but get this straight, if your sole purpose for doing masters is to get a high paying job, then you are heading for a shocker ‘cos guess what’? there are so many people with masters who are yet to get a job, talk less of good ones. So get certified in what you love and compliment it with something.

5. GET MARRIED

As funny as this may sound, it is so true and advisable for the female gender most especially. Getting married after your service year will save you from alot of stress and troubles, mostly financially and it will be a relieve to your father, as the responsibility of spending on you has been shifted to another man. Getting married after service year is a good thing and a way of serving time, instead of being idle or flirting around thereby wasting your precious time on people that don’t worth it.

CONCLUSION

Just before you finish your service year, ask yourself these questions:-
* What are my passionate about?
* What are my opportunities like?
* What skill do I possess.

When you answer these question correctly, then you have won 50% of the race.

Thanks. Drop your Comments.

The best thing I can advice anyone to do after NYSC service is the move to Canada to do a master degree, work and study and secure a PR after graduation.

Can is a good place to raise your kids and the schools there are top notch, Canadians are very welcoming and friendly people.

Click on the link below to learn more about relocating to Canada through study visa without writing ielts.

Also, you don't need to pay tuition fee until you arrive in Canada.

If you desire a bright and better future for yourself, don't wait for jobs that are not there after service.

If you want to Mary, you can arrange for your wife to join you in Canada.

Everything is so well structured and to your benefit

jackofalltradez:
I am at crossroads here and currently lacking ideas for a business i can start with 6 million naira which can also generate a high income monthly.
All business ideas are welcome. I am based in Abeokuta, Nigeria.

The easiest way for you to get confused is having huge money without already having plans or ideas about what you want to do with the money.

If you already have a plan on the type of business you will like to get into, it makes life easier for you. When you have huge capital, you just channel it to what you have been learning about before.

The first thing i will advise you to do is start learning about what interest you. Search yourself and know what you are passionate about. This is because businesses might not work as expected sometimes, so if you are passionate about it, that should keep your business going during difficult times.

Also, it's very difficult to tell you the best business you can invest in because what works for Mr A migh t not work for Mr B.

Business / Re: Challenges You Will Face In Uber/taxify Business As A Beginner by donlet(m): 2:54am On Aug 02, 2021
carixma:
As a driver-partner these are the challenges you will face as a beginner.

CHALLENGES YOU WILL FACE AS A BEGINNER IN UBER AND TAXIFY BUSINESS

1. Lastma, Police Vio and Road safety: U will meet them on d road. They will stop you and check your particulars and if u violate any law especially traffic law u go pay fine from d money wey u earn dat day. Make sure u carry all d necessary documents required by police and study all d necessary road signs. e.g No U -Turn, One way, etc.

2. Poor internet network on your phone: Issues with fare calculation. Sometimes network can be very poor. At d end of d trip Uber or Taxify app might not calculate your money well, d rider will end up underpaying u. But u can always report to Uber or Taxify when such error occur. You can take wireless Internet wifi along with u, should Incase u notice no network.

3. Aggressive Lagos drivers, danfo and Okada riders: u will definitely have minor scratches and dents on your car. You cannot dodge them. Okada riders will hit your car and side mirror, expecially in densely populated areas like oshodi, Ketu, Ajangbadi, egbeda, idimu, onigbongbo, idumota, iyana paja, Abule egba, orile, okomaiko, agege, ojota, mile12 and so on. I will suggest u have a standby painter and panel beater that will always fix your car when such thing occurs.

4. Rude riders or passengers: they will talk to u anyhow especially Ladies (Oloshos and runs girls), but you must be professional and do not fight or insult them , that will lead to low rating and permanent deactivation. They are likely to report you and accuse you of what you didn’t do. Eg Dorcas fapson and Taxify driver. Google and read d story, is online.

5. Fraudulent Riders: They will not pay u at end of the trip. They will sha look for a way to avoid paying u.Eg I forgot my ATM card at home, send me your account number I will transfer the money to your account, pls park I want to use the ATM and they come back telling u there is no money in their account, some might even runaway from there. grin

6. Interpersonal Relationship skills: some riders especially ladies notice say you be handsome driver they would come and sit in the front want you to chat them up. If u be guy wey no get correct yarns. Omo nah low rating O! So u gast dey inform and keep abreast with trends and latest gossips and news in town. That is what they like. If possible u entertain them. ( this advice nah for handsome drivers only) grin

7. Good customer service: Ensure you treat riders with respect. Speak to them in a polite manner. Don’t be rude and arrogant . Make them feel comfortable And make sure you have mints, pen and paper, Aux cable for music if your car has auxiliary output, savet or tissue paper, umbrella and so on. At any point in time they might want to request for it, and if you don’t have it nah low rating.

8.Outfit and Looks: do not dress like person wey dey suffer. Dress well and look neat always. Ensure to use good perfume and roll on. Brush your teeth well to avoid unnecessary mouth odouriferous smell in d car when A.C is on. grin Failure to do the following will get u low rating.

9. Armed Robbers, Kidnappers and Ritualist: we heard several cases of Taxify and Uber driver killed and their car snatched away from them. If u must work at night, u gat to be very carefull and shine ya eye wella. If u go "nogere la san" dem go Kpai u. So be vigilant and at alert. smiley

10.Traffic: Traffic jam in Lagos can be on a lock down sometimes. It will surely affect your earnings for d day, you won’t be able to do more trips and it will also exhaust your energy and make you feel tired. Make sure you have pain
killer in your car. For headache, leg pain, back pain and so on.

11.Bad Road:There a lot pot holes, ditch and bumps on lagos road. It will certainly depreciate your car faster unless you carried out proper and regular maintenance and servicing on your car.

12.Village people:; If you notice that village people are following u, Don’t underestimate their powers grin. u gat to always pray before u hit d road for business. You can always subdue their powers and keep them in check with ya prayers be u Muslim or Christian or whatever

13.Low Trip request or Lack of sales: some days can be so dry. U hardly get enough request to make good profit but don’t get discourage. You can covered up for that especially on weekends

14.GPS Navigation: you must learn how to use google map to navigate to riders pick up location and destination or else they will bombard you with low rating. And google map will help improve your knowledge about Lagos road network.

15.Flood: During raining season places like Lekki, Ajah and some part of V.I are usually flooded, u should avoid going there or else water might damage your car engine. When there is heavy rainfall, these places are massively flooded.

16.Fuel Scarcity: During festive period approaching Christmas and New year there is always fuel scarcity. Fares and surge goes up astronomically. Ensure u get storage for fuel, so u don’t run out of fuel to work and profits margin are usually crazy at that time

17. And Finally HEALTH: Take care your of body “health is wealth”. Eat well, get enough rest and take medication if necessary. Don’t over stress yourself.

As a JJC In the business your average expectation on weekly earnings should be 50k-80k. At most 90k in a week with surge.
( Before expenses)

As u get more experience your earning capacity increases to like 100k-120k

Though there are a lots of cars on d platform NOW. So you gat to work smart and harder to succeed

Thanks for sharing this piece it's really educative

Travel / Promoters Defraud Tourists Of N4m In Canadian Visa Scam by donlet(m): 7:04pm On Jul 27, 2021
Two promoters of the Victoria Travels Resorts Limited, Mary Aweh and Olaleye Oluwadamilare, have been arraigned before the Kaduna State High Court over a Canadian visa scam.

The two defendants were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on six counts bordering on advance fee fraud.

They were said to have obtained a total sum of N4,240,000 from two persons, Asika Casmir and Daniel Monday, under the pretext of obtaining Canadian visas for them.

The Head of Media and Publicity, EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, in a statement on Monday, said the complainants engaged the defendants in 2018 to arrange a trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands and paid N1m each.

However, two days to their departure, Aweh allegedly informed them that the trip had been put on hold and offered them Canadian visas as an alternative.

The complainants reportedly accepted the offer and paid N4,240,000 each for the visas, consultancy and air tickets.

Uwujaren said, “After a long wait, Olaleye called and delivered the so-called Canadian visas and Yellow Fever cards. He also informed them that they would be travelling through Kenya. But upon arrival in Nairobi, Asika and Alabi were arrested by Kenyan immigration officials for possession of fake Yellow Fever cards and detained.

“Upon their release, the duo made effort to contact the suspect to get her Kenyan representative to assist with the connecting flight to Canada, but her phone lines were off. The complainants were re-arrested by Kenyan immigration and deported to Nigeria.”

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Following their pleas, the prosecutor, Jamil Musa, urged the court to fix a date for the commencement of trial, while the defence counsel, A.L Damsaka, urged the court to grant his clients bail.

Justice M.T. Tukur granted bail to the defendants in the sum of N2m each and a surety in like sum, adding that the sureties must be of good character and possess evidence of tax payment for the past three years.

He ordered that they be remanded in a custodial centre pending the perfection of their bail terms.

Car Talk / Re: How Important Is Mileage For Nigerian-used Cars: Dealers Please Advise by donlet(m): 9:35pm On Jul 25, 2021
lagerwhenindoubt:
I have been trying to land a sweet car purchase deal on Nairaland but have been discouraged for the following reason, Toks cars shipped from abroad are way too expensive (especially when they carry a valid VIN with a Clean title) it seems better to get a Nigerian-used that you have checked yourself.

I have noticed most car adverts that do not carry mileages are actually between 60,000km to 150,000km when i come for inspection and the dealer is not willing to reduce pricing based on mileage. I usually get the argument that it was neatly used and has no problem whatsoever as long as i maintain it well.

I recently went online to calculate the distance between Lagos and Kaduna by road - it is an impressive 729.62 km to 802.06 km if you start from Toll-gate -> Sagamu -> Ibadan -> Oyo -> Ogbomosho -> Illorin -> Jebba -> Bida ->Abuja FCT -> Kaduna

http://distancecalculator.himmera.com/driving_distance_from-kaduna_to_lagos_between_road_direction-8387.html

A car with mileage of 70,000km will need to have travel 88 trips (44 times back and forth) between Lagos and Kaduna  shocked Imagine how many trips a car with 150,000km has done and yet the price from the dealer will refuse to move from N2.2M.

I disagree that the inner and outer neat appearance of a car is not enough to justify a high mileage+high price on a car. Mileage will definitely have negative impact on the car's engine which is the most important part of the car.

I need to know why some dealers do not consider a high mileage a good enough reason to drop their (High) price. are there any other factors that reveal why one should accept a car with very high mileage?

Please I am interested in your views
Thank you

Dealers are selling what they bought.

If the car has been properly maintained and depending on the engine type 4 plug, v6, v8 etc.

V6 with high mileage is still very good if properly maintained.

V8 with over 200k mileage is still very good if properly maintained.

4 plug with like 150k is still good if properly maintained.

I bought a camry for 168k mileage 4 plug and i used the car for close to 10 years without changing the engine.

So there are many factors that determine whether a car is good or not.

The mileage is an indication of whether the car has been driven too much or not but it's not the only factor that determines whether you are buying a good car or not.

car a 4 plug car mileage of aboout 150k is a bit reasonable

V6 can be upto 180k

V8 can even be more than that.

2. There is a lot of bad roads in Nigeria. Most Nigerian used cars has suffered and if it has not troubled the owner before, then it might start after few months you acquire the car because of accummulated stress the car has been made to under go.

The only thing that makes naija used cars attractive when you are comparing naija used Vs tokunba cars in Nigeria might be the price.

May be you feel the naija used is initially cheaper, but have you checked the cost of mainitaining the Car.

The money you will spend on maintaining a bad naija used car might be 2-3 time the cost of getting a tokunbo car.

Car Talk / Re: Should I Buy A Nigerian Used Or Tokunbo by donlet(m): 7:28am On Jul 25, 2021
clementcro:
Hi, everybody, I have like 1m, and I want to buy a nissan Maxima 04-06, I have seen toks going for 1.1 and 1.2, I have also seen nigerian used going for 1.150, Now I am confused, which one should I go for?

I am even afraid of Nigerian used based on what a brother of mine has experience on buying nigerian used car.

Advice please

A bad Naija used car can cause you high BP and hyper tension and the intial cost might make it look attractive. What you will later spend on it might be 2 or 3 times the price of a tokunbo car.

A car is suppose to give you comfort and must be fun to ride, take you from place to place without fear of break down or disgrace.

There is way you can import tokunbo cars by your save and save like 500k on the cost of the vehicle.

Autos / A Bad Naija Used Car Can Give You High BP And Hyper Tension. by donlet(m): 11:29pm On Jul 23, 2021
A car is suppose to make your life easier.
Provide comfort and make it easy for you to move from one place to the other.

But that was not the case for former neighbour as he nearly had high Bp and hypertension after buying a naija used Volvo jeep.

Since he bought this jeep, it's always one leg in and one leg out of the mechanic.

There are times he will even park the car for like 2 to 3months because he can't afford to repair the car again as it's just bringing one fault after the other.

I could remember one hot afternoon like that, he was dressed in shirt, black trouser and a red tie. His wife also beautifully dressed and their 3 year old daughter.

They were about to go out to catch fun but, the car developed fault again and spoilt their fun.

At first the car could not start after several attempts. Then he came down opened the bonnet as he always do, tried all his best, the car refused to start.

He was there for more than 30mins sweating at a point, he told his wife and daughter to come down from the car and stay by one side outside there in the compound.

You could visibly see how happy the wife was as she sluggishly came down from the came carrying her daughter.

They were still having hope the car will start, after about 1 hour, he called his mechanic which is having workshop some few kilometers away

The mechanic keeps posting him until finally after about 3 hours, he appeared.

What is wrong with the car again?

The mechanic asked,

I don't know, last week this car chop almost 50,000Naira and now it's not starting.

Bad Naija used cars can disappoint you at a critical moment and you will keep going from one mechanic to the other.

Even though it's cheaper to buy a Naija used, the money you will endup spending to fix the car in 6months to 1year might be far more than the cost of a tokunbo Car.

You could even get a tokunbo car cheaper if you import the car by yourself cutting the dealer's profit.

That is the essence of this post, to give insight into buying and importing foreign used cars from USA, Canada etc.

If you are about to change your car or upgrade, or you are buying your first car, you could save yourself headaches and even big amount of money when you import your car by yourself.
