1John.5.3 - This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.
Took out my bible to read and i came across these two verses. It brought conflicting thoughts to my mind, I'm like, Christ says his yoke is easy? I mean naturally this is the narrow road, surely it's burden can't be light? Thoughts of how the early saints were crucified came to mind. Nope! It definetely can't be light.
My Father had a very distinct saying he usually told us at home; If education is expensive, try ignorance! (Though it's different here in naija, where education is more expensive than ignorance). Nevertheless, this saying still holds in this case. If you think the Lord is burdensome and weary, have you tried the way of sin? It's path is soo wide that it would be cumbersome to cover grounds, it's soo straight, you begin to doubt where it leads.
The outcome from a life of sin is always disastrous, specifically spiritually, not only does it burden you with addiction, it lords over you with a whip of frustration when trying to pull out from it. Truly the yoke of the Lord is easy and the burden is light especially when compared to the otherwise!
I pray that God guides us as we walk this walk of faith till we unite with him in his eternal abode.
