The problem stems from when we begin to make marriage a "Christian" thing. It has never been a Christian thing in the bible but a traditional thing. That's why no Pastor, apostle or prophet ever conducted a wedding. Even MESSIAH attended a traditional wedding. But today, instead of learning from our fathers and elders, we quote bible upandan. Even bible supports our traditional customs regarding marriage because we are the people of the book anyways.

It is true that the wife should submit to her husband but the husband is also told to love his wife. So, if Bishop Oyedepo teaches total submission from the wife to her husband for marriage to be successful, he should also emphasize that the husband should unconditionally love his wife and take care of her.
