Business › Abia-China $1.5b Shoe Factory Deal... Nigerians React/ Criticize [PICS] by donnie(op):
See this sensible post from a friend of mine plus reactions from Nigerians...

Abia secures $1.5b shoe factory deal from China...

Am I too excited?..

I know our Gov means well cos he believes this would develop the shoe business in Aba but the detail of the deal tells that an 'investor' known for shoe production is making this investment; meaning he would deploy his own automated factory and perhaps 'employ' workers for the shoe business. This would definetly create jobs in its thousands (may be)..but will it help the shoe artisans (small enterpreneurs) or wipe them (cos they can't compete)?

I would have advised that govt focused on...

1) Massive infrastructure revolution (ofcourse source funds for that)..eg roads. People need to access Aba to see, buy and even invest.
2) Possibly negotiate with Geometrics on provision of steady or near-steady power supply for the Bakassi line or any designated industrial area and possibly subsidize the bills. I said possibly.
3) Negotiate with the Fed to encourage the agencies to order their boots, shoes etc from Aba. Even construction companies. Just like Peter Obi got GEJ to buy Innoson vehicles in the SureP initiative, Anambra bought Innoson buses for schools, The SUVs for traditional rulers and hospitals and the pickup vans for vigilante groups and communities. He also got some states to do same. Demand creation.
4) Ensure security (whatever it takes) to ensure people feel safe to come, stay and do business in Aba.
5) organize trade fares to showcase Aba shoes.
6) Financiers will spring up and they will be funded to buy bigger machines and automate in various stages. Growth.
ETC

The talented shoe makers need to find an envirnoment to develop into big enterpreneurs and employers of labour, not to be employed as factory workers by one big competitor investor. Liken this to the Leventis of those days that only left 'mechanics' behind and not automobile company owners.

This is my small opinion and advice for my governor whom I think means well but needs to further analyze the details of this deal.

corpersforum:
After the Nigeria Civil war, the NYSC scheme was created to reconcile, reconstruct and to rebuild the country.

After the Nigeria Civil war, the NYSC scheme was created to reconcile, reconstruct and to rebuild the country. The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was established on the 22nd May, 1973. NYSC was established with a view to the proper encouragement and development of common ties among the youths of Nigeria and the promotion of national unity.

Recently, there have been rumours that the NYSC scheme has been scrap by the federal government. Even though it was a rumour, many people would love to see it happen. Today, we will be telling you five funny reasons why NYSC should not be scrap. DO Not Forget to Join corpersforum.com

1. Cultures/ Tradition
Do you know most youths have not travelled out of their state of origin or resident? Scrapping NYSC will prevent most youth to experience or learn other cultures. I recently finished my NYSC program of which I served in Anambra state. I can vehemently tell you that knowing the culture and tradition of the Anambrans changed my orientation towards the Igbo people and increased my love for business. There is always something you will learn from other cultures and traditions.

2. Alawee
#19,800? That's too small! Only feeding will consume more than half of it! I won't lie to you, I also complained about the money. But do you really think if NYSC is no more, you can get 19800 every month after finishing school considering the Nigeria economy? This small alawee has saved many youths from begging money from parents, uncle, friends after school. I can tell you that many youths don't even get up to that alawee in a month after finishing their NYSC. Do you know the money most people saved from their Alawee is what they use to survive after NYSC before their dream job? It might be funny to you, but it is true.

3. Life Partner
I don't need to tell you that many people met their lost rip during the one year NYSC program. I can still remember the song we sang at orientation camp ''When corper marry corper them go born ... wink''. So many married people met their partner at the orientation camp, some at their PPA and some even met theirs in the host community. A lot of persons might not see their missing rip if NYSC is scrap- funny but true.

4. Job Opportunities
We have talked about Cultures, Alawee, and Life partner, let's Talk about Job opportunities. During NYSC program- Most graduates are fortunate to work in an organization where they are being retained after the one year program. Apart from your PPA, there can also be several job openings in the community or state where you served. Scrapping NYSC will deprive so many of job.

5. Experience
NYSC program serves as a good platform to gain experience. 70% of corps are being posted to schools which is also a good place to gain experience. I don't need to tell to include it as experience in your CV.

Do you agree with those points? Do you have any objection?
Let us know your thought on this matter below…..
It shouldn't be scrapped for just one reason: it was born from prophesy given by Pa SG Elton, a british missionary. It is the will of God for Nigeria.

Except of course the time for it in God's calendar has elapsed.

Christianity Etc › Re: Seeing Demons, Angels, Fallen Angels, Spirits.. - Hsp's by donnie(m):
I will like to share a few testimonies and also an unusual dream which I recently had.

First is regarding the prophetic in my life.
I was in a family meeting. Last December 25th as we had some sort of reunion with extended family members who were in the country.

It was a pleasant gathering and at the end I was asked to pray.

I first exhorted for about 2 minutes then began to pray. Towards the end of the prayer, I prophesied that members of this family will receive political appointments.

That has already come to pass. One of the men in that meeting, my cousin, has been appointed permanent secretary this year.

Now, to a recent dream I had on the 2nd of March 2017. It was quite and unusual one. About a week before this dream I had attended a conference with three specific desires on my heart and with a prophetic seed for the man of God.

In that dream, I was in a church building and I saw the preacher who looked to me like Rev Dr. Chris Oyakhilome preaching. And he called for those who will give a seed of 100 naira each. I didnt have change so I gave 500. He called me back and gave me me 400 balance. On my way back to my seat, a young man approached me asking me to give him money to sow and I obliged.

It was a joyful church, I remember I saw two light skinned ladies sitting happily in front with travelling bags on seats beside them as though they just arrived from out of town. The hall was full, I saw two others enterring to have their seats with heads covered.

Then I saw the preacher walk to the right of the stage and pour on the floor mixed concrete from a container which he held in his hand such that it formed a rectangle of about 6 -7ft in length, 3ft in breath and about 2-3 inches thick. Then he declared referring to it, "the power of God is here, anything dead that is placed here will come alive"

Then I saw another vision of two little babies (twins) creeping; one of them had pissed in her clothes. And a man asked me to carry them and I picked the one that was wet and held her close.

I woke up and began to pray in tongues. I knew this wasnt an ordinary dream. And it was a strange one in many repects. The Lord began to enlighten my heart as to the meaning of this dream ( I will share it believing that more insight and guidiance might be given).

I continued in prayer under a strong unction and He began to speak to me regarding the church chapter which I belong, our ministry in the land and several other things that will happen. I later shared these prophecies (which I wrote down) in a meeting in church, my pastor being present and they rejoiced.

Some of the prophesies have already bugun to be fulfilled. For example, the Lord had said that He will begin to minister the Spirit of wisdom to political leaders and that there will be rapid development in the region. In the same month, our Pastor was invited to lead in a prayer organized by the govermnet.

Just last Saturday, the senator representing our senatorial district was in our church for a wedding with several other dignitories, including directors and a Vice Chancellor. They all heard and were impacted by the Word. After the wedding, the senator asked my Pastor privately to call him. These things have never happed before, like this in this church.

On second thought CharlyG1, can I send you a PM or email. I'm not sure I wanna give the interpretation I received out here as they are quite personal and specifically adressed the prayer points I took to the conference I talked about earlier.

However, I will like to state that I believe the man I saw preaching was the Lord as I have never seen Pastor Chris use mediums such as oil or water, let alone concrete.

Also, although the twins reminded me of those of a very senior Pastor I'm close to, they werent his, as his are about 1.5 years old and no longer creep.

Thanks ya'll and God bless.

Nairaland is a private space. We have the right to kick you out if you don't follow our rules, just as you have the right to kick a guest out of your house if s/he says something you don't like. Just as a mosque has the right to kick out a pastor who comes into the mosque to preach. But we will not attack you physically or try to murder or jail you just because you criticized or made fun of our beliefs. We have no right to do that.

Yes, there should be exceptions to freedom of speech. It should be illegal to call for violent acts against anybody. It should be illegal to deliberately lie against an innocent person to ruin that person's reputation, if a lawyer can prove that it was a deliberate lie. But it should not be illegal to insult or offend or provoke people. Nobody should have the right to not be insulted. No beliefs should have the privilege of not being criticised or mocked. People should be made to learn that, while they can't control what others say, they can and must control their reactions.

Remember you will give account of what you did with the opportunity given to you. Maybe you want to be known as someone who promoted lies and tried to bury truth.

Truth be told, REV. DR CHRIS OYAKHILOME has raised far more better and more authentic stars than you or your BBN idols can ever raise.

More stars will yet again be raised at the upcoming Loveworld Festival of Music and Arts in SA this April.

Yes you can actualize your dreams as a christian!!!

If you don't see me again folks, chances are that i've been banned again for speaking the truth.

Business › 170 Inmates Graduate From Christ Embassy Skills Acquisition Programme by donnie(op): 9:57pm On Apr 12, 2017
Believers’ Love World, popularly known as Christ Embassy has empowered no fewer than 170 inmates of the Oko medium prison in Benin-City with skills acquisition training.

The inmates were awaiting trail at the prison.

Emmanuel Iyamah, a member of the church who spoke with newsmen said the inmates were taught foundations for life  that will equip them to become better citizens when out of prison.

“The graduands today are already thinking positive, we brought lecturers to teach them entrepreneurs skills .

“Christ Embassy always monitor the graduands (inmates) well being  when they come out of prisons .

“The church even went as far to pay their rent and open a small scale businesses for them ,so that they won’t go back to crime but do the right thing”, he said.

Also speaking the Deputy Comptroller in charge of the Oko prison, Godwin Evboeruan said the skills acquisition training would inspire the graduands to live a positive life.

Evboeruan represented by Deputy Comptroller Amayo Osadiaye noted that the exercise was all about impacting the Word God in them as well as helping them to the realize the potentials blessed them with by God.

According to him, the training would make them to discover the special gift from God which is their talents to better their well being instead of going back to commit crime when they come out.

” We give room to churches or individual who are interested in rehabilitating  the inmates through skill acquisition training and counseling.

“The graduand inmates were taught skills that they would embarked upon when they leave the prison so that they become better citizens.

“With little fund they could established for their daily need with small skill acquisition and small scale businesses .” he stated.

Evboeruan added that the  inmates have been trained on tailoring, making of soap, carpentering among others that they would take into as profession after serving their various jail terms.

He however said that there were inmates who were biological crime oriented, adding that people of such cannot actually change except with Grace of God hence the programme.

He encourage concerned citizens who have training that would make the inmates a better persons in the society after their jail terms to approach the prison authority.
