the troops deployed to flush out terrorist from adamawa, borno and yobe states following the declaration of state of emergency said that they have intercepted messages from the leadership of boko-haram urging sect members to regroup and never to give up. In a news published by vanguard, it was learnt that the interception made by military communication interceptors came about as continued combing of camps and enclaves revealed fresh graves, more ammunition and other equipment. The attempt by some of them to heed the call was foiled at the weekend as some of them were trailed by settlements and towns towards the boarder where they planned to regroup. The troops of the multinational joint task force carried out an operation which resulted in the capture and destruction of the insurgents assembly points sited in the outskirt of karenam dan kastina, tumbu dabino and mallam fatori area north of baga. The operation which occured during an encounter with the troops of the task force as the insurgents were finalizing moves to carry out extensive terrorist operation in maiduguri leads to the caption of 25 insurgents amongst which three died. A security operative of the task force was killed during the operation, they were aprehended before their planned infiltration with more arms to cause mayhem in the city. The captured ones were all apprehended with thier weapons which include rifles, pistols, double barrel gun and various calibres of ammunition during the raid operation by the JTF in kumshe and bulunkutu area. with the killing of the policemen in alakyo village of nasarawa, the Nasarawa state governor, Gov. Umaru Tanko Al-makura said that his government will not sit and watch some disgruntled individuals hold the state to ransom and turn the state into theatre of death thereby undermining the development efforts of his administration. In a statement made available to news by the senior special adviser to the governor, sani musa mairiga, the governor stated this in reaction to the killin of 47 policemen in the state. He said he will deal decisively with those fanning the embers of crises in the state including thier sponsors. The statement also stated that some politicians are behind the crisis witnessed in some parts of the state, but they should know that the nemesis will soon catch up with them. he also said that "there is no hidind place for unpartriotic individuals in the state, there is no cause that can justify the killing of innocent souls". He urge the citizens of the state without bias of religion, ethnicity to be generally good, kind and supportive in this difficult period as his administration will not relent in it's efforts to fish out those behind the killings and the source of the sophisticated weapons the militia are using to unleash the violence. |
