But truthfully speaking, Buhari is NOT a "GENERAL". He is a MAJOR GENERAL, which is two ranks below an actual General. And no, they are not the same thing.
In the army, the Major-General (two stars) comes before the Lieutenant-General (three stars), and THEN the General (four stars).
The "GMB" label was actually a misnomer.

If not for the sincerity of Buhari, he would have been a General. Most of the so-called Retired/late Generals (like Abacha and Babangida) we have today were his inferiors when they were still in Service. He didn't just wanna promote himself in a dubious way like them. He's Mr 'Due Process'... He's worth the General tag and he deserves it!

He would now be addressed as President Muhammadu Buhari (PMB), otherwise known as Post Mail Bag!!!

You forgot Kogi, Benue, and Plateau states (traditional PDP strongholds that fell on that fateful day to the APC).

I still consider them all as Hausa/Fulanis since they're all Northerners.. Though they have different Ethnic groups there like Egbiras, Igalla, Berom, Tivs, Idomas and so on. They all also contributed immensely to Buhari's success at the polls!

Take the 1.8 million votes given to Buhari by southwest and add it to Gej's votes..what will you get?

Buhari: 15.4million - 1.8million = 13.6million
Jonathan: 12.4 milion + 1.8million = 14.2 million

So do you see what the Yorubas did for Buhari?
